A culinary legend provides a frustrated office worker with a new recipe for life in Julie & Julia, the true stories of how Julia Child's (Meryl Streep) life and cookbook inspired fledgling writer Julie Powell (Amy Adams) to whip up 524 recipes in 365 days and introduce a new generation to the magic of French cooking. Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada) co-stars in director and screenwriter Nora Ephron's delicious comedy about joy, obsession, and butter. Bon appétit!

my favorite line is when Paul asked Julia what she really liked to do and she says "eat". It's great.

And he just agrees “ and your so good at it “ most people would say “ how can you make a career out of eating “ so supportive

This movie brings a lot of comfort to me. The story, the acting, and the food bring 2 beautiful stories into one spectacular movie.

I recently saw the movie for the first time, and loved it! It's the kind of movie that you want to watch again and again, knowing that, each time, you'll notice things you hadn't noticed before. And I adored this "behind the scenes" story, as it is really fascinating to learn about the effort that was made to make the movie both believable and enchanting. Now, I cannot wait to watch the movie again!

I think I just discovered that Julia Child’s “baby” was her first cookbook. There are scenes hinting at possible infertility or sterility but the when she tells Paul “it’s your book, too” something kind of clicked in my head. And then they get the letter from Knopf and react similarly to an expecting couple. And then, of course, the book comes in the mail. I cry every time.

Beautiful! Julia Child had a fabulous passion for life. She's a great example of passionate living into her 90s. After her husband died she had a BOYFRIEND when she was in her 80s! You GO girl!

One of my favorite movies of all time. Then I read the Julie Powell book thinking I would love it too and ended up not being able to stand Julie Powell at all. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I couldn’t watch the movie again for awhile. Then I finally told myself that I fell in love with the movie because of Amy Adams and Meryl Streep. Btw, Julie Powell in the book is nothing like cute, sweet and adorable Amy Adams. Julie Powell’s book will really show you how unlikable a person Julie Powell is!! If you love this movie I would suggest you not read the book that this movie is based on. The people who made this movie did a wonderful job.

It always bugged me that Julie Powell in the movie was tiny. She should have gained some weight to make the movie more believable
Also bugged me that we could hardly ever see Julia’s shoes.
Other than those distractions, great movie
