When you said Merry Christmas to Canada, my roommate was watching this on her laptop and I was in the kitchen cooking and I gleefully chipped in, Yes, Merry Christmas to Canada. Guess where I live. I do love my country, we are not perfect yet this experiment is going well. I also got my roommate addicted to Chateau De La Lande and Doing It Ourselves and we talk about you and how we dream about doing the same, a renovation, but we keep dreaming of the garden renovation and using the land for all the wonderful things that nature provides. Wanted to add in how much joy this brings so many.

Stephanie, you mentioned blue gin. Funny story, when I went to London many years ago, we toured the gin museum - and I just had to buy a bottle of the “blue” gin (Bombay, of course). When I got it home and opened it for my gin and tonic, imagine my shock that it wasn’t blue gin at all - but a beautiful blue bottle. I kind of felt bad but appreciated my own private joke to myself. That blue bottle still has a place in my cupboard, if only to remind me that surprises are a gift. Your gift openings always fill me with joy. And I am getting my package of maybe not so spectacular gifts together to mail off to you - this process has been fun for me. Carl Larsson is one of my favorite artists! If any of you ever have a chance to visit Sweden, his amazing home in Sundborn is open to the public and filled with the original furniture and art. His family still owns the property and staffs the tours. His great great granddaughter Maria was my tour guide🤗
💕 Glog: My granddaughter brought me bottles of glog from her trips to Germany and also many packets of spices to make heated glog. Yummmy! Now I need some fantastic mugs.
Philip quickly took up a niche as Stephanie's right hand man, since they have common talents (love of singing) and sensibilities (design). And he has useful skills for the chateau decoration, besides freeing her up from filming and editing.
I'm as always, amazed by Stephanie's memory. She has great recall as to who has given past gifts.

@@sillybollox2244 Don't get me started!!! WA always has words with different meanings to the rest of the states. What a 'cack' (laugh) in QLD was a pretty common saying and I am doing that now!. However, I know that I have met with people from WA before and have whiled away a few hours over a glass of wine -swapping colloquialisms. I have never been to WA but just before covid a friend had suggested we go to Perth together for a girls holiday. I am definitely going to get there one of these days. Are you in Aussie still or somewhere else?
@@lianegordon971 I've been mainly in the UK since I was 6 - I still miss the wildlife tho - my tiny town in Oz had limited opportunities for adults, but it was idyllic for kids - I never wore shoes - I loved walking barefoot through warm puddles on the way home from school - I've just realised I don't even own a pair now! I have boots or trainers. 🤣
Those Christmas stockings are big enough to hold a puppy, a kitten or a rabbit. You could also put a hot water bottle in them and use them all winter long.😊

A Tim Tam slam is a traditional Aussie way of eating Tim Tam's, bite the ends off a Tim Tam and use it like a straw to drink (I used to drink Port through them), your favourite beverage, (a coffee liqueur is also very yum), through it!

Such fun as always! The depictions on the trays from Sweden are works by the artist Carl Larsson born in the mid nineteenth century at Stockholm.
Carl Larsson is one of my favorite artists! If any of you ever have a chance to visit Sweden, his amazing home in Sundborn is open to the public and filled with the original furniture and art. His family still owns the property and staffs the tours. His great great granddaughter Maria was my tour guide🤗

Glog: My granddaughter brought me bottles of glog from her trips to Germany and also many packets of spices to make heated glog. Yummmy! Now I need some fantastic mugs.
