I was in Army basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri back in the fall of 1973. One early morning my company is standing in formation in the dark outside of the barracks waiting for the drill sergeants. Someone happened to look at the sky and saw a satellite slowly moving overhead and pointed it out. Before you knew it the whole company was standing there with their heads all looking up. Of course, the drill sergeants come out at this exact moment and start screaming at us for looking up and we had to drop and give em 50 pushups. Good times.

Camp Pendleton, 1997. I was a Marine stationed there and worked as a repair technician for systems that utilized FLIR cameras for targeting purposes. Those cameras were really badass. We’d do this at night on top of one of the mountains on base, just point the camera out at the night sky. If we swung north and zoomed in a bit we would see nearly this much traffic over LA. Planes and helicopters flying over that town all night long. San Diego not as much, and we were closer so we didn’t have the wide perspective like we did over LA. One evening I pointed it out over the Pacific, just due west and sat there. There was a lot of air traffic, more than I thought there would be, but it was all conventional aircraft and a meteor or two now and again. Those cameras weren’t nearly as sharp as this. Almost scary how many more satellites are up there these days. Planet must look like a dirty atom from deep space.

Interesting! Goes to show - If you’re using a particularly wide field of view, taking long exposures, or capturing continuous video with high sensitivity, it’s entirely possible to catch several thousand events in a single night. The sky may look serene to the naked eye, but with modern equipment, it’s teeming with activity-most of it man-made.
So, if you notice a neat, rhythmic flash-especially in the 0.5-2 Hz range-you’re almost certainly catching either a tumbling satellite or an aircraft’s strobe lights.

Video is sped up and not a single one of those is changing speed or direction or showing any unusual capability that would suggest UAP's of any kind or even a normal aircraft, for that matter. I'm a believer of UAPs but I'm not weak minded enough to make things into something they're not just because I want them to be something they aren't.
Satellites change lumosity as the pass into and out of the earth's shadow based on thier direction and height of orbit. This can also give the illusion they're "appearing" or "disappearing", and also causes them to get really bright and fade out. The ISS does this almost every time it passes over you at night.
I have a video I took about a week ago of the Starlink Trail "appearing" as it moved towards the sunrise. This is normal satellite activity.

I love the stars so I look up and a perfect line if dots are moving across the sky. There's was 7-8. They didn't fade away for at least 5 minutes. I assumed it was skylink.
In Nplaes FL in 2003 I saw a comet and made 3 other people come out to see it. Idk if it was really a comet but that's exactly what it looked like. It was definitely outside the atmosphere and was there for hours.
When I got home I went online and could find anything.
In 1998 in Ft Myers FL, my girlfriend and I were walking home from a community pool at night. I heard wind sound but it was calm. A second later something massive and silent passed over us. It was so dark I could only see it blocking out the stars as it passed. It was low enough I could hear wind but it had no other sound.
She saw it too and got scared and ran to my house. If I had to guess I'd say it was a couple hundred feet up.

Four, maybe five, years ago, my wife and I attended a Sinterklaas Christmas parade/event in Rhinebeck, NY. The sky was clear, the evening bitterly cold, and the moonlight reflected on the snow. We were in the huge crowd watching the parade when I heard a young girl say to her dad, "Look, Daddy, up in the sky-it's Santa!" We all looked up, and that was my first sighting of Elon’s Starlink. Some of us knew about it, but to those around us who didn’t, I am sure it cast a sense of wonder.
We don’t experience wonder as much these days, with most answers at our fingertips.

Allot looks like “satellite” reflections of sunlight (albeit low energy) with noticeable inclinations where they form tails and then go dark or just go dark. With the time of day and lat/longitude we should be able to figure out rough altitudes of these things. Maybe even spot the ones that don’t fit an orbital pattern!

    • @Midnight_Gardener
      @Midnight_Gardener 6 дней назад

I was thinking the same. They all seem to “light up” around the same general area as they pass through. The “light up zone” moves from top left to bottom right consistently, which would likely suggest a reflection from another consistent light source. The light up zone moving slowly from left to right could suggest reflection from either the earth’s reflection of sun or the sun itself. Truly knowing the details of where, when, what direction we are facing, and then matching all that up with the frequency/direction of satellite and space debris revolutions would eliminate a heavy amount of common movement. Then you would only be left with many more questions lol

Maybe someone smarter than me could tell if IR is even a product of the sun? I just assumed it was along with all the other spectrums but maybe it isn't?
Lastly, wouldn't an infra-red camera require infra-red light shined on something for it to work? Sorry for being dumb. But if that is true then the conclusion is that all the moving things are either being illuminated by IR or they are producing it. I guess there is one more thing but just an observation. Anybody else notice t hat almost all the things were moving at the same or very similar speed though I did see one that was moving faster across the screen and then the starlink seemed to move slower.

When I see something stop, change directions or suddenly make a right angle turn it may be something else but these are satellites, there are 22,000 in orbit now so you are seeing them in real time. If you go to any number of SkyTracker sites you will see exactly what these are. I have seen the Skylink train a dozen times here in the mountains of CO along with what you are getting video of. After 15 years skywatching, only 2 times at night and 1 time during the day have I seen something moving changing directions and totally inexplicable and you would not believe me if I described them to you.
