When I was 18, I worked in a sawmill.Truck came in,they loaded him. Then in my infinite 18 year old wisdom,I asked truck driver if he wanted me to “Hand” him his tarps. He smiled and said,” If you can pick them up,your welcome to”. Forklift lifted them up.
March of 1984, had tornadoes in the Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C. area at night. Could hear them, but not see them. Used Two Men and a Truck on my last move. Good service.
Thanks Dan I am a uk lorry driver and love your videos .they gives a insight has to your life .they are very interesting and informative.thank you and keep your self safe
i live in the Finger Lakes are of upstate NY and i saw a company truck running south on Route 54 almost in Hammondsport, NY, i said I know that company!!
When I was a youngster, my dad hauled copper out of the San Manuel mines to Phoenix metro area every day. Brings back memories. Thanks for the video, Dan and Bailey!
Just came across this video. Fuel seemed cheap back in the good old days! Hard to believe some drivers would be so impolite to leave their truck in the road.
I know the abandoned weigh station you were parked at.. Just east of there is the 191 turn off to go north to 3way, Clifton, Morenci or continue north into NM. We used to stop at the weigh station on bike rides coming from the White Mountains areas a couple of decades ago when it was open and manned. They let us get water, and use the restrooms. The last time I was there they had closed it and it looked like it does today. It was kind of interesting to see you way out there with your truck. It's not one of the main routes. Nice farmlands west of there into Safford.
Picked up raw copper ingot's from AZ to Montreal. Nobody told us to tarp it (2 other trucks) so we took it all the way there, we got there to a huge foundry, word made it pretty high up the chain and their safety director came down and told us to tarp it next time because they've had several trucks stollen. He said the ingot's also had a few other metals in it including gold.
I don't know why but I find your videos really interesting and your presentation style and voice are relaxing, like Scandinavian slow-TV. Also, what a cute pupper partner!
Hello Dan I used to work in morenci as a contractor for the gas company sooo happy to be done with those neck of the woods lol. You have alot net worth on your truck you and Bailey have a blessed trip and be safe and keep the videos rolling.
Zinc copper lead i liked my side kit. Especially on those short 400-500 no scale trips 🤣 80k on the deck sunday.... Nice vids Dan... another 3 weeks i hang it up after 43 years flat, step deck and oversized... last year pulled into Charlotte paid 1.88 last week same day almost a year later 3.22... sad. Good luck my friend..
You do know that Bailey is becoming the star of the show here? Don't want you to feel threatened in any fashion but this isn't politics the truth matters here. Being the slick trucker you are I am sure you tied her up in a tight employment contract. LOL She is a very nice addition to your channel.
Thanks mister Dan for sharing another great video with us! Sure glad you put the old 379 back into service, really like seeing on the road and it looks real sharp pulling that Dorsey trailer.😎✌️
I spoke to a truck driver friend of mine who hauls the same plates from a Florida port. Once loaded, they are not allowed to leave their trucks with the exception of fuel. They are required to be top offed before loading. If the driver does not have enough time, a 9 hour run, he must park his truck in the company guarded yard till the next day. Big money in those plates. According Rumor is a driver and his load disappeared but the tractor was found
G'day Dan, love your video's, watching Bailey grab hold of the straps, my dog does the same. Here in Australia a dust devil is also called a willy- willy. Stay safe and thank you for your service.
Hey Dan !!! Great job with the copper !!! It's a wonder the Shipper didn't require you to tarp it ??? Bailey has energy rebounds like when we were kids !! Wish I had some of that left ,,but ""MOTHER NATURE"" takes over & BANG !!! Have a good weekend & waiting for another ADVENTURE !!! ""KEEP IT SAFE ""!!!
There was a big one that went through Joplin in 2009 and did major damage to the Flying J. I went through there a few days later. Went to a small town in Alabama to pick up Tyson chickens a couple days after a huge tornado went through. I was told by a local that the town had been hit by a tornado 100 years to the day previously.
May 31, 2013, the largest tornado ever recorded, which was 2 ½ miles wide and a F5, crossed the spot where the Loves you were at is currently located. Also, bit of trivia, the husband and wife that started Loves Country Stores, still live in Oklahoma City where the business began. Tom & Judy Love started the business in 1964 and it is still privately held by them.
Hi Dan. At the 10 minute mark when the 2 Men and a Truck Moving passed you , it brought something to mind that I had forgotten about. We have a company here in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada called 2 Small Men with Big Hearts. If I remember right it was a couple guys who had worked for an Atlas agent here who started with 1 or 2 straight trucks like the one in your video. They eventually became an agent for Atlas Van Lines. I worked for United Van Lines when they started so some of the boys knew them. You have mentioned you also worked for one of the van lines , but I don't know which one for sure. Allied maybe ? It was a great idea to cover your load Dan. You never know these days. A fellow at Olympic Building Materials on Friday told me a load of lumber had been hijacked in Quebec Canada. I haven't heard any more about it , but that copper is worth a lot of money. You and Bailey stay safe out on the road and at your nightly stops. Thanks for the videos. Wally
Bailey is a real trucker’s dog. She knows how to act like one. if she was a human she would be driving Dan’s truck. They love copper and they will take it.
Cool load! copper is 559# a cubic foot or 15,093# a yard so you had on about 3yds of copper. Does that aluminum trailer act different with that kind of concentrated weight?
When I first got into trucking hauled many of loads out of that copper mine. Some loads they sneak Gold mixed into the copper to hide it. Keep up the videos Dan...
Good to see Bailey enjoying her time on the road she is very playful. I was wondering how you prevented the copper sheets from cutting your straps and tarps. We used to haul a lot of this by rail years ago but most of it goes overseas and then we buy it back from them after value adding . Truck and trailer still looking good Dan. Best wishes from Sydney Australia
Dude you picked up in Morenci AZ copper plate is the only thing you could have picked up there! I think any junky who tried to run off with one of those copper plate might be surprised at how heavy they were. I wonder if anyone has tried to put a pressure switch in the airbag line so if someone trys to steal your load while your a sleep and alarm would ring in the cab?
I live about 27 miles East of St Louis I wish I would of know you would be coming past exit 27 on I64 I would have bough your dinner next time yell for the Cobra I will meet you at Loves on the 27 marker. Hope to hear you soon.

Always fun when these older videos pop up.
Bailey is the Ultimate Buddy and Super Companion Dog. Makes Life on the Road much easier. 👍
That old weightstation. Could imagine a cabover rolli´n in, driven by a man looked like Johnny Cash.
Dan what is going on with you and your choice of music??? You keep hitting home runs on your music selection. Bravo!
I agree. Music selections are always fitting.
That dog cracks me up. 😂❤
I love the way Bailey helps stay safe out there

Back in the 90’s, when I ran to Phoenix a lot, you would see dozens of loads of copper headed west on I-10 to Long Beach ports. I even hauled a few.

It's nice of Bailey to help you with the straps. Good help is hard to find these days.
$ 200K + load, good choice to tarp, all sorts of sketchy people out there. Keep safe out there Bailey will watch the load while you sleep.
Zinc copper lead i liked my side kit. Especially on those short 400-500 no scale trips 🤣 80k on the deck sunday....

Bailey is being a little stinker. Good idea covering that load.
Stay Safe
Great idea tarping, we used to live in AZ and would see big ingots of copper going east on I-10. Always a gorgeous color.
Thanks Dan. Bailey is just the cutest little thing
Thanks for the video. Bailey is having a blast helping you un tarp.
I’ve pulled into that scale many times leaving Morenci, always thinking it’s actually in business.
Used to haul copper out of Port of Panama City Florida to Carrollton Georgia. They did not want us to stop till we got there.
Thanks for watching
Bet those loads paid good
Thanks mister Dan for sharing another great video with us! Sure glad you put the old 379 back into service, really like seeing on the road and it looks real sharp pulling that Dorsey trailer.😎✌️

@@johnhornback7878Been a few F5 tornado in the past. The one mentioned happened to be the largest at 2.5 miles wide.

Always has a neat and clean looking rig, at least on the videos. Like all of your videos...
Loved all the SW footage, now back to the rainy east.
Cool load!

Thanks for watching
Copper is really heavy per cubic foot!
you are so efficient in doing your tarp and wrap cords.
Bailey sure likes to help with the straps...lol. Now you've gotta train him to roll up the tarps.
Trucks with that cargo comes through Dothan, AL heading North frequently. None of it is tarped.
Bailey sure likes to help out with the straps!
Good to see Bailey enjoying her time on the road she is very playful. I was wondering how you prevented the copper sheets from cutting your straps and tarps.
