    My 2 succulents are tall and curving around. I was going to repot them together in a terracotta pot. Does this sound ok,? I have small lava rock and soil not sand. They are in small pots now with direct TX evening sun. Thanks

    Thanks for your helpful video on how to root sedums. I’d been wondering how to get my very leggy plant to be more beautiful and full. 😢You have given me great ideas! I didn’t know that you could save the leaves and let them root 😋

      I wish I had an answer, but I'm not really sure how long they take to bloom. I have heard suggestions that they bloom when under stress. Is your plant indoors or outdoors? If indoors perhaps if you put it under the conditions of Spring/Summer, add a grow light and a heating pad and give it less water, it may trick it into blooming. That's just a guess. Best of luck and well wishes to you💚

    Are you in California? Didn’t realize I’ve been pronouncing kalanchoe wrong for decades 😂

      I am in California... and for years I pronounced Kalanchoe as callan-cho... thanks to lots of other plant videos I changed up my pronunciation 🤷‍♀️

    Loved this video. I have a leggy kalanchoe in the office that needs a haircut. It’s still flowering and the flowers are so pretty but I’m going to chop and prop it after watching this🪴

    I thought it was a nice touch your lipstick coordinated with the plants at the end. Everything was in harmony!

    So does the entire plant you repotted that “bloomed” die back or just the long upper stem with the “blooms”?

    • @FreePlantsForever
      @FreePlantsForever  Год назад +3

      On this particular plant, the stem with the bloom will die - but other "pups" below the plant will keep going. A lot of times Kalanchoe will also create little baby plants on the leaves themselves that will drop and start to grow whole new plants. Other monocarpic plants such as agave will fully die after bloom, but they will also have likely shot off a lot of pups before doing so.

      @@FreePlantsForever How neat! Do you cut that long stem with the blooms or just let it die back in its own to nourish the bottom parts that continue to live.

    Do you compose from your green bin.

      Great question! Our city runs a green waste program where they take all garden cuttings (for free!) and turn them into mulch that they give away (and even deliver) to residents to help gardens become more healthy and drought tolerant. It's a great way to recycle garden waste.

      Wouldn't the kalanchoe possibly regenerate and become invasive in someone else's beds as part of mulch/compost?
