Simply my favorite football game of all time! It was hella fun, with realistic in game action. It was relatively easy to understand each team's playbook and competitive enough to feel challenged! I still own a copy of this game along with my old PS2 console! Thinking about digging out to play again! Why not? It's still in great shape! 👌😉

Did Madden 2002 have roster editing and create-a-player? I want it because it's the last game with Summerall and Madden. And because it reminds me of the early days of the PS2.
Yes! You can edit rosters and create your own players! You can even create a customized season with up to 16 teams. I made one with just NFL Europe teams.

The 49ers won this game in real life. They would go 12-4 and lose to Green Bay in the Wildcard round. The 49ers would have the best record of a wildcard team in NFL history. Two of their four losses would be to the rival Rams, who would go on to play New England in the Super Bowl.
As a Niners fan, I think the Saints of '11 and '19 have surpassed the '01 49ers when it comes to Wild Card Teams! Unless you were talking about San Fran clinching the playoffs as a wildcard not winning their division, The '13 49ers have l surpassed them in my opinion!

Yes the madden developers of this era needs to work on the madden games of today these were balanced out and ahead of their times

Grew up on this game. Loved learning the game in the trainer mode with John Madden explaining the concepts
Born in 07 so it makes me sad to see the maddens we have today I would love to play this game so fluid and classic
