MrConstantine02 the 1990s and the early 2000s are the peak of American civilization. Although there’s been a decline since then in confidence, we need go do what we can to recapture what got us to our peak, to avoid a Roman decline
MrConstantine02 soon people will realize there was something truly special and unique about the early 00’s. Maybe that comeback after 9/11 idk but what a beautiful and painful time
I was in this. We filmed it at a church off of Santa Monica Blvd, on a rainy Halloween night. At 0:28 sec I'm in the 2nd row back, 3rd guy to the left, wearing a Red Sox jersey-I'm a Yankee fan by the way. And at 0:49 seconds you see me standing up wearing a Patriots shirt. And at 1:19 same jersey. LMAO I am also a member of the Black Hole Raiders MNF with William Shatner-Just can't find that video anywhere. Made also in 2003
Wtf man!!! What a sell-out! You were a Red Sox Jersey but your a Yankee fan. Wore Patriots but your a Raider fan. Sacrilege! ..but wait a tic..you must be a great actor!!!lol.
rob mush this was produced by ESPN lol, ESPN has produced all sports on ABC since late 1997. The difference is the people who produced this game now work for NBC, that’s the real issue here
Although ABC Sports at that time was ESPN, there is a notable difference. This is because when NBC got the rights to Sunday Night Football, they hired most of the MNF crew from ABC, including the executive producers. The new Monday Night Football - which is what today’s broadcast on ESPN is a descendant of - is the old ESPN Sunday Night Football.
Like most things it comes down to money... network budget vs cable budget. Also, to a lesser extent, on the weekly network game you are trying to drum up a broader audience. The focus is more on entertainment than football. On the cable games you are more often letting the game be the draw for more committed fans
Memorable game too. Pats were down 1, backed up on the goal line late, Belichick took an intentional safety to go behind by 3, then they got the ball back and scored a TD to win.
This was the game where Bellichick called for the deliberate safety with ~ 3 minutes left in the game. That put the Patriots down by 3. The defense then caused a 3 and out and Brady took them down the field for the go ahead touchdown with 34 seconds left amazing game. Most ballsyest decision I have ever seen from the Patriots
And racial integration, patriotism, all-girl cheeleaders, no kneelers, Madden and Michaels, just one big freakin' party. Oh, this game was won by a team taking an intentional safety then coming back to win on a TD.
The tv contract of 2006 happened. NBC made Sunday Night what Monday Night was, in terms of relevant games, big rivalries, even the playoff games that ABC uesd to have (until the 2014 contract in which ESPN got a wild card playoff game and NBC got one Divisional game). They even hired Al and John. The momentum might swing back to Monday Night a bit in the next tv contract. Disney wants to enter the Super Bowl rotation, and for that they're willing to put MNF on ABC again (of course, under the ESPN on ABC moniker). They've had the MLB and college basketball returning to ABC this year, for example. And MNF had some big games lately to be honest. Some weeks, especially in the early part of the season without the flex schedule, it's better to watch whatever game MNF has than a 2, 3 Win Cowboys against the Eagles in similar situation on Tank Division
Monday Night Football always got you hyped for the game, even with the same producers waitin all day for Sunday night just doesn’t hype you up as much as Are you ready for some football!
You mean that you made up your dumb ass comment because your team sucks, +Supreme Being? Your name even sounds like an elitist and egotistical douchebag.
Was on my last night of honeymoon in Maui & shocked to find out MNF on ABC was tape delayed, unlike the Sunday games which were all live. Regardless, we left to be at airport early to have dinner while waiting for 10:30p red eye. So radio it was for this Patriots season ticket holder which wasn't preferred but had to do. Thus, listened to the "on purpose" safety work to perfection & as we pull into the airport, I listen to the winning TD pass, Brady to Givens with I think it was 30 seconds left!
I didn't have a TV to watch this game, but listened to it on radio. And Boomer Esiason made one of the great calls I've ever heard when, with the Pats trailing 22-21 and pinned on their 1-yard line with about 5 minutes left, he suggested tha the Patriots take a safety. He made the suggestion on first down, and eventually on fourth down Belichick did exactly that. The rest is history. 28-24 Pats.
The fact I'm watching this 2003 intro in 2021, and that Tom Brady is STILL in the intro is nuts to see
True!
Il watching in 2023 😂😂. Damn I miss those days an commercials
Who misses Al Michaels and John Madden on Monday Night Football
Love John 🥺 he sure knows his football
@@pjartistics Absolutely and 100% true
I always think of Madden with Summerall on CBS. My favorite Monday Night Football crew was Al Michaels, Frank Gifford, and Dan Dierdorf.
Michaels is on NBC now
🤚🏻
17 years later and Al Michaels is still the best announcer ever. I remember when he did professional bowling on ABC! The man is timeless!
Anytime you have Christopher Lloyd preaching football, it's epic. DOC BROWN LIVE FOREVER!
@jaketurner61
Christopher Lloyd Will Always be Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit to Me.
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Man, this intro, the graphics, the camera angles, just scream Early 2000's.

Lol you can tell it was recorded on VCR.
Hank Williams Jr was the best opening ever.

Abc did very well with the production of Monday night football. ESPN doesn't anymore.
rob mush this was produced by ESPN lol, ESPN has produced all sports on ABC since late 1997. The difference is the people who produced this game now work for NBC, that’s the real issue here
suny123boy1 yea before 1997, did you even read the comment?

1.21 gigawatts of MNF intro.
RIP, John Madden!
Aerosmith and Hank Williams, Jr.; together at last. 😎
Memorable game too. Pats were down 1, backed up on the goal line late, Belichick took an intentional safety to go behind by 3, then they got the ball back and scored a TD to win.
Tom Brady is still playing and winning Super Bowl’s 😂
I remember back in the late 90s when Denver and New England was such a great rivalry.
So true Wilson was a hell of a Linebacker!
Doc Brown is a national treasure
I Thought William Shatner was a National Treasure.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY THE GREATEST INTRODUCTION TO M N FOOTBALL I EVER SAW IN THIRTY YEARS!!!
Amen!
This was right after the 2003 ALCS. I love the Red Sox reference, which must have been one of acute agony at the time.
"Thin air? No air? I don't care!" Christopher Lloyd rules. :D
Al Michaels and John Madden, perhaps the best pairing of commentators ever.
I miss John on MNF
+Fizz Bronson And Frank Gifford
I liked it better when he was paired with Pat Summerall... one of, if not THE greatest, broadcast partners ever.
This brings me back. I loved MNF on ABC with Al and John.
GREAT SCOTT!

This was when monday night football was something special. Now days its just another game.
Ironically for those Sox fans, that would be the final year of heartache!
Priceless classic 🔥
Remember when the NFL was about football?
Now it's money and narcissism
And racial integration, patriotism, all-girl cheeleaders, no kneelers, Madden and Michaels, just one big freakin' party. Oh, this game was won by a team taking an intentional safety then coming back to win on a TD.

@@b.a2921 It's always been about money. This is a job, they've always expected to be well compensated.
What ever happen to the excitement of Monday night football they could get us so riled up ready to go before the game, loved those days...

First MNF goes to ESPN (fuckin' cable, really?) and now I can't be properly ready for football without this song?

Your right Christopher Lloyd needs to "Back to the Future" the Monday Night Telecast to the days when it was Great on ABC

In This Clip, From 1:37 To 3:32, It Was ABC Sports' ABC's Monday Night Football Video Open From Monday Night, November 3, 2003.
Reverend Jim "Iggy" Ignatowski, in full form !
