Over the last 3 years I have done several watch reviews and videos and people always complain that I am rough with the watch, that I bang them around and mishandle them. These must be people who have never owned or worn one of these watches. The Rolex sport models are virtually indestructable. If you have a polished dress watch, you are more careful with it only because you don't want to scratch the polish on it. However, the all stainless models that do not have the polished center links, can be treated as badly as you want. You can wack them on door knobs, lay on the ground and scratch them on the concrete, you can take it off and toss it on the table. You can put it in your pocket with your keys. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BREAK IT. If you were to slam it on the concrete, you could break the crystal or crack a ruby inside, which has happened to one of my Subs and I had to replace the pallet fork. I wore the same Rolex 2-tone Submariner for 15 years straight, it was a 1990 model I bought in 2004. I wore this watch daily as a car mechanic and fabricator. Every once in a while I would re-polish it myself on a buffing wheel, but then I started doing a satin brush finish on it using a purple Scotch-Brite. Yes, that's right, I did in the sink. I get constant compliments on the finish. When it gets scratched up, about every 6 months, I re-polish it. I don't give a shit about it's value and sellability and originality, I am not selling it and if I do, I don't care, so please save me the speech, I don't care.
If you plan on wearing it Bob, try not to scratch it. It's too beautiful to let it go down that path of degradation. Is it possible to send it back to the manufacturer and have them polish out those scratches ?? Make it look as new again ?
All these rappers and young folks dont realize that as soon as they "bust down" a Rolex and customize it with diamonds and whatever else they're actually diminishing the value. An original with all the paperwork and original box will always outsell a custom watch.
Scarily accurate replicas of the boxes & papers can be bought for a hundred bucks from China. The new Daytona has been repped very accurately as well, including a cloned 4130 movement. I'd be very hesitant to buy a used Rolex these days.

Please don't wear your Daytona while doing mechanical or other work. With that sort of money, you should try to keep it pristine. I keep a leather pouch to put my watch in when I work. All my watches are old and gold, and they look like new. Just my take.

Yep. I'm still a Submariner Oyster Perpetual man for the present time. I've got the blue cerachrom bezel and blue dial 18K yellow gold and stainless steel with date model. I absolutely love it and thinking about buying another one in a different color scheme or probably a Rolex Yacht-Master or GMT-Master II to switch off wearing from time to time. But that Daytona though! Boy, that is a pretty sweet Rollie my friend. Take good care of it and savor the privilege of enjoying the finer things in life!
Honestly think Omegas quality is alot better box wise and movement. My dad has the full gold version which paid over 15k English pounds about 12 years ago which nowadays is a steal! Great watch! Keep it up man

My favorite Daytona is the Spirit of Japan, Red face, black dials. Your should look at getting a Jacobs if you are going the collector route. Just don't ever waste your money on a Richard Mille, I truly believe they will end up like Enron.
Love the watch but the only version of this that I can afford is an Invicta Speedway lol. I'm a massive Richard Mille fan but I'm realistic, I can never afford a £20k watch nevermind a brand that starts around £200k! Anyway, thanks for showing this👍
When I had it serviced last year I had him put it on there off a Yachtmaster because I thought it was cool. A lot of people notice it which is why I like it. You can put any hands on any watch you want. I also swapped out the old tritium dial with a new lume version and got a new crown. Spent about $2000 on the whole service and parts.
Well there are talking all the risks, plus framing and stuff....it’s gonna sit on the shelf for months... two grand max....and there probably losing money 🙂

Nice watch but I was always wondering about the batteries for these high priced watches. Are the batteries the same price as other watches or is this one of kind batteries. I seen u winding it up and just curious what’s the back side look like to put battery in.
it is an automatic, meaning a rolex employee will automatically come to your house twice a year and replace the battery for you. this is included with the purchase price

My AD got me one end of last year. It is a stunner. The black over the white for me . I like how thin and classy it sits on the wrist .
