    this build is gonna be sick, was already a fan of the previous series in which the 944 stared

    That rear coolant flange is actually 5-axis CNC machined, not cast ;) I love that intake box and the way you mounted the heat exchangers, very nicely done! The sheet metal under that nose panel was actually a mounting point for plastic ducting that promoted laminar airflow to the OEM radiator. It also served as a structural impact crumple zone part of the chassis.... But since this is a rally build you won't need that where you're going! This whole series is a huge motivator to get my street 07k 944 build 'finished', even though it already rev's to 7500 NA and scares me a little in the corners XD

    Keep giving Mike old Golfs and 911s to rebuild, we will keep the ad money flowing :P
    Loved his wide body drift build and this rally build is just as cool!

    Mike, Your coolant tank is quite yellowed. Both of my 944s have a yellow tank which indicates it is very old and oxidized. The reservoir tank is under pressure and it is very common for it to start leaking profusely once it reaches old age (both of mine just exploded in the Texas heat). I would highly recommend buying a new one considering the rest of your cooling system is so nice and you will be dumping turbo heat now.

    CAD = Cardboard Assisted Design
    Therefore I have no idea what difference you are talking about comparing with all day work???
    Absolutely beautiful! both the car and production of the series, relaxing at its best!

    Car looks great, did you use a scanner of the engine bay at the start of your project to get a idea of space for everything? Have you guys ever scaned a MK3 engine bay for the same reason?

    • @ecstuning
      @ecstuning  3 года назад +1

      No, the engine bay wasn't scanned. Some rough measurements, but most of it was Mike eyeing it. He does scan for the suspension. which is in future episodes!

    Mike, Great build...Definitely learning a lot about this swap. Nice augmentation to the BB series of videos. How are you dealing with the three outlets on the stock thermostat housing base?

    I Like that as a builder he doesn't have : "While I'm In There" Moments. I would be completely lost the way I do stuff.. new everything just to crash it on first Stage ....

    well is it not also kinda good that waater return is at the back now alot of other engines like the mx5 that have both the water necks in the front and with some moderret power it runs alot hotter at cylinder nr4 but in this case would it also not help with the cooling with it being in the back
