Pockets on pockets on pockets on pockets! What a great duffel, and thanks for the review! LOVE that there's easy access to the big sections without opening up the whole thing - smart!
Thank you finally you reviewed it packed up! The version 1 actually went on sale but I was curious cause I remember Chase Reeves who was part of design team saying in one of his reviews that there was a batch that mistakenly didn't have the original YKk zippers so thank you for showing it with packing cubes and extras❤ I loved that you went over the sizing difference and weighed it in. My 1st favorite thing about this bag when I discovered it was that a laptop could still be tucked safely between both sides and everything could be opened at top. My second favorite part is that pull out mesh red lined pocket for when you have to empty your pockets for TSA then find them easily again and reinsert it into itself after!
I was watching the Pakt demo on their site, and there’s a thingamabob at the bottom of the water bottle pocket that attaches to the bag so it doesn’t flop/flap around uncontrollably.
Appreciated this review, Lauren! I love my bento bag, but this duffle is slightly bigger, has more color options, and plenty of pockets. It looks like it can handle a rainy travel day too.
Hate to bother you, but could you please tell me if you reach for your Bento bag a lot for a plane trips? After seeing Lauren’s review of the newer one, I am curious! The Bento would be my only bag, so I’d be toting it through airports and onto trains, so it makes me worried about the comfort factor 😅 🥴
@@happyfamily1298 No bother at all! I have the newest version too, but haven't traveled with it on a plane-yet. My recent trips have been on international airlines with stricter sizing limits (was easier to skate by with my backpack). I have traveled with it via train for a few weekend trips though, and it got the job done. (:
Thank you so much for taking your time to share! I have a few months to decide, and goodness, with so many terrific bags out there, this is a tough decision!
@@happyfamily1298 My pleasure! I totally understand where you're coming from, and that's why I'm grateful for ItsTheKellys! If you're a fan of pockets and on a budget, I also recommend the Underseat Pro Backpack. I absolutely love that bag. Lauren has reviewed it too!
@@HibiscusStar14 It is clear to me that I need to take a day off and binge all of Lauren's videos - so many great options, and I appreciate her take on them!
Now you’re talking! I think people have forgotten what it was like to travel before luggage had wheels! I have had this version for years and it got quite the workout as it was a bag I was traveling with when the pandemic hit, and I practically lived out of this bag for over a year. I’m sort of a pocket minimalist, but these pockets do not take up excess room, nor do the zippers snag on things. If you don’t use them, you have more interior packing room. Easy Peezy. This bag has continued to be one of my favorite, lighter weight duffels, and even though I chose a lighter color has never showed a scratch or snag. This bag is so balanced when I wear it crossbody with the very comfortable strap. I’ve never tried Pakt packing cubes, but they look like they’re quality. Great video showcasing an even more mobile bag for one bag travel! Cheers!! 🌍 🌎 🌏
I bought the original Pakt backpack on Indiegogo developed with Chase Reeves, another fun minimalist packing guru. The features are amazing and it's beautifully made. Turns out, it's too heavy for me when packed :( but I can say their products are perfectly designed for travel.
Just a clarification with the weight. You said it’s 2.36lb (0.45kg), but 2.36lb is 1.07kg. The Pakt website says it’s 2.9lb. Weight is always one of the main dealbreakers for me with any carry on bag because usually I’m flying airlines with 7kg restrictions. And I think for anyone using this for one bag travel, it could be pretty rough on your back when it’s fully loaded, especially if you have a laptop or other heavy electronics. I love the functionality and packability of this bag though.
Ooh thanks. I typed it into Google but I probably had a typo! It is heavy when fully fully packed. I use duffels more for road trips vs airports with a lot of walking.
A few years ago I bought a Birkin bag and take it with me everywhere I go. I worry about it getting stolen or damaged, so I'm worried when I go out. I was tired of this mental burden, so I bought the kislux bag.
Since I just purchased the Bento bag I wouldn't want to make a change right now but I might consider the smaller bag that you show today and this larger bag might actually be too heavy to carry as some folks have said but it does have quite a bit of organization and the suitcastile is really popular right now And stars many purposes so thank you for this review.
Yes duffels are definitely heavy when fully packed. I personally wouldn’t travel with them solo on a plane, through an airport. I would use it more so for road trips or train travel 🥰
Wow Looks like a great duffle. My only "complaint" would be too many compartments and zippers. Maybe one or two on one side outside for quick grabs but don't won't it to get stuffed due to size restrictions. But, do love the concept of clam-shell duffle. Is smaller size considered and sized to be a personal item? Wish the interior color was something besides white due to looking dirty but some bright color. Another great excited review!!!
There is definitely a point where there can be too much, especially if a lot of them are smaller, but a lot of these don’t necessarily bug me, although I probably wouldn’t always use all of them! I do love the little hidden pocket inside of a pocket because I would totally hide some extra cash in there
I actually forgot 😝 but I think it would all depend on what exactly you packed in it too, and if the shape can be moldable and squishable. (For example clothes vs camera gear)
The nomad lane is smaller and more personal item sized. It’s a more luxurious looking bag, vs the matte material on this one, although both water resistant. The nomad lane has other top pockets that are convenient, but takes away from the depth of the one side. It’s really all up to your preference!
Would the smaller size pass as a Personal Item? I think you said it was maybe 1 1/2 inches shorter in length, but that would still make it over 18". Thanks!
Did you get a haircut? It looks lovely! How would you compare this to the Nomad Lane bag as in another video you said it was a unique feature to open clam shell style? Thank you!
I did not, but thank you! As for the comparison, this bag is a lot bigger. The nomad lane is more of a personal item, whereas this is like a normal duffel for travel
@@ItsTheKellys I have my notifications turned. thank you! I just ordered the nomad lane bag based off of your reviews. Had to wait for a sale and for them to open shipping to UK though. There is the smaller 25l one that’s supposed to fit under the seat from Pakt, please review that if budget allows - I think it’s more comparable. I would prefer the features on this bag, I’m a function over style girlie but I DO like that nomad lanes looks like a handbag a lot.
I have a question, I am already on your mailing list, but I cannot access any of your packing lists or Your travel itinerary or places you go to look for tickets. I can’t access any of that without being put on your mailing list again, so how do I fix that or do I sign up for double the emails. thank you, I love watching your videos.
This reminds me of a more utilitarian Bento bag. I think there’s a better chance that my boyfriend would use this. He thinks the Bento bag is too girlie in its looks. 🤣

Such a smart bag!
Great review Lauren😄. I love all the pockets. This would make an awesome weekender especially for car travel.
I think so too!
I really want this bag even though I don't need it. It's perfect!!
Right? Haha

This is an awesome duffel! And I love the packing cubes too. Will be checking them out further.
Awesome! Enjoy! I love the cube with the two sides!
Why do I get so excited when your new videos pop up??😜
Aw thank you!
This bag (and cubes and sling bag) looks phenomenal! Love the colour you chose and the organization!

Ooh even better
Love the bag and the colour! Definitely adding to my list. Also love that small two-sided packing cube!
right? I love that it can separate my items, and its still so small.
Great review! I use, and really like, the Evergoods TD 35 travel duffel in green and bright orange!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
I love this bag!
When you get a chance, will you review their backpacks too? They look really great. Thanks!
I would love to if I get the chance :)

Hi 😊 is there a link for that water bottle?
Hi, I just got it at one of my local stores
Definitely a must have bag!
We love it!
Love it and love the color
Do they have a smaller one ? I need personal item bag ? What would you recommend?

How does this compare to the Bento Bag which you did a review on previously?
The bento bag is more of a personal item vs a large duffel.
This zip queen is back
Hi Lauren great review like always. May I ask how does this compare with the nomad lane bento bag? They look very similar to me
This bag is a lot bigger- carry on size. The bento is more of a personal item size.
Will this bag fit under the seat on an airplane or do you have to put it in the overhead bin?
It would be carry on size, in the overhead
Can this fit under a seat or is this instead of a carry on luggage? Thanks
This is carry on size

Is this available on Amazon?
No, only through the Pakt website. The link is in the description
Did you measure it when packed?. U mentioned the width varies. In soft bags its always an issue.
I actually forgot 😝 but I think it would all depend on what exactly you packed in it too, and if the shape can be moldable and squishable. (For example clothes vs camera gear)
Do you like this one better than Nomad Lane Bento? I’m trying to decide which one l want to go with. I would do the smaller version of this one.
The nomad lane is smaller and more personal item sized. It’s a more luxurious looking bag, vs the matte material on this one, although both water resistant. The nomad lane has other top pockets that are convenient, but takes away from the depth of the one side.
It’s really all up to your preference!
@@ItsTheKellys Thanks for the reply. Have you reviewed the FTL duffle? That’s another one I’d like to see!
@amm_np I havent. I reached out last year but they said no. I may try again one day.
🎉hey man, im travelling to Asia for 4weeks. Im undecided on the 28L or 35L . Which one would you pick ? Thank u
Asia is usually pretty strict with weight (I hear) so as long as you’re a good minimal packer, I’d do the smaller one
I would love to see this up against the bento bag. They seem very similar. I wonder which would actually hold more😅
This one is way bigger than the bento.
This duffle is very heavy when fully packed
Ladies you have been warned
I own the OG version and love it
Yes, I weighed it in the video when fully packed. But don’t forget to warn weak men too 😏 Strong ladies, you will be fine.
Would the smaller size pass as a Personal Item? I think you said it was maybe 1 1/2 inches shorter in length, but that would still make it over 18".
Thanks!
It’s 11 x 18.9 x 9.8, according to their website, and the largest personal items allowed are 14 x18 x 8, and that’s only for a few.
I'm sold lol

It’s similar in the fact that it opens clamshell style and is made for convenience, but this is a carry on duffel and the bento is personal item size
This wouldn't fly as a personal item, or would it?
It’s a carry on. I explain this as I go over the dimensions :)
