    Nice video. Have you tried any of the plug-in powered cell boosters sold online? Hiboost and a few others? A little unrelated, but in the 1990s I lived in a second story condo (top unit in an 8-unit layout) and we had antenna restrictions for TVs. No way was I paying the sky-high cable TV costs. I looked around a bit in my unit and found the access hatch into the attic in a closet. I was able to install a full TV antenna up there right above my TV, run the cable down into the room through a hole in the ceiling to my set and the quality of reception vs standard 'rabbit ears' was incredible. When I sold the condo I simply pushed the cable back up into the ceiling, patched the hole, and the new owner probably wasn't the wiser of what was up there!.

    Good evening Peter. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. Really appreciate it. Now I can make an informed decision based on quantitative data you have presented in this video. With that in mind, I have to compare your information vs. the bands available at the intended area of operation.
    As a follow up, I just confirmed with Cellmapper and the LTE bands at the local T-mobile cell(s) are 2, 4, 66 and 71. 66 performs at a max download speed of 260 Mbps with an average of 139 Mbps. On the upload, 66’s max speed is 49 Mbps with an average of 11 Mbps. With this info in mind, I may benefit from higher gain equipment. Would you agree?
    However, Proxicast will be a better application for my main residence in Miami Dade county a few miles away from Miami International Airport. Certainly a contender that punches at a higher weight class. Good for Proxicast for providing a great quality product at a reasonable price.

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  11 месяцев назад +2

      From what I understand, gain only amplifies your signal (good and bad). It would be like turning up the volume on the radio of a channel that you don't get very well. Sure, its louder but is that going to result in more bandwidth. I got the greatest improvement by simply adding a single 2x2 antenna ruclips.net/video/wXSpbP8NuWw/видео.html You can paint this (no metallic paint) and it will look pretty good. Or you can say it is a TV antenna which they can not keep you from installing. It is your right to receive OTA TV broadcast. Many of them look like this.

      @@PeterC408 Quick update Peter. I set up the new GL.iNet Puli AX (XE3000) with an AT&T unlimited tablet plan SIM card I just purchased/added to our family plan ($18-ish a month after taxes and fees) and I’m getting (at 3:18 pm on a Saturday afternoon) 73.5 Mbps download and 19.6 Mbps upload speeds on 4G LTE through a WireGuard VPN.
      It doesn’t look like I’m in range of a 5G cell, even when I near the Miami International Airport. This is with the router next to a window only with the antennas it came with. Happy so far. Waiting to see the speed with a T-Mobile SIM card. Then the true test, to take the router with me to PR next time and tested there. I’ll probably take with me the Proxicast 2x2 MIMO antenna you previously recommended. Wish me luck.

    more bar your near the cellsite, less bar your to far from the cellsite, speed depend of traffic or area.

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  15 дней назад

      Bars are not related to your distance from the cell tower, they're merely a reflection of signal strength. They tell nothing about signal quality or signal of noise ratio which is actually more important. They tell you nothing about the band that you're on or the backhaul provided to the tower. Is there a question?

    I enjoyed your video, but I don't agree with your assessment that power is just power...power should always be a primary consideration because it is an indicator of problems/losses in your system. You can have a million dollar setup but your power losses, that can be eliminated with clean connectors, can ruin your day regardless of what your equipment cost. Don't you know RF is a product of magic? He he!

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  11 месяцев назад +1

      Power is kind of like water pressure; once you have enough, you can move your focus to something else. Kevin from Proxicast likened Power to music volume. Louder is just louder. You need a clean signal more than just loud.

    Thanks for your review. I really need a 4x4 for my RV!
    Have you opened these up? One review for the 2x2 from J. Newman on Amazon says "…to my surprise there is only 1 antenna. The 2 mimo connecting wires looked like they were wrapped together and soldered to one point on the antenna circuit board." Do you think this matters?

    Does VSWR matter? Some of these antennas have a VSWR of 3:1 or less.

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  8 месяцев назад

      The thing that I am most concerned about these antennas is their size. They are small, very small. They will work well for high band frequencies but what about the XR bands at 600MHz. You may want to get more metal in the sky to be successful with the lower bands.
