Here is some actual functioning advice for approaching and complimenting women: 1. Don't compliment on natural beauty or whatever. If you make a compliment, compliment something she *chose,* like the style of her outfit. 2. Approach women who signal similar interests to your own (shirt of your fave band for example) and express enthusiasm about that commonality. Don't test them on it, just talk to them like to any other fan. 3. If you need to build up some confidence, practice by just asking for the time or directions and ending the conversation on a positive note without asking for any personal info. 4. Women who have headphones on or are immersed in their phones are not to be approached. Those are universal signals to leave them alone. 5. For longer conversations, approach groups and ask if you may tag along a little. Accept nos. But in groups, people feel more comfortable, safe and relaxed. 6. Don't ask for their personal info, always ask if you may give them yours. It's safer. 7. NO MEANS NO. NO DISCUSSION. NO ATTEMPTS TO CONVINCE. NO WHINING. Even aside from being basic manners, you never know who knows each other. Your tantrum at woman 1 might reach the ears of woman 70 just when she is about to go out with you and make her retreat. Just cut your losses, be polite, and move on.
It's so sad that so much of woman-friendly advice boils down to "treat her like a person" y'know... even while anxious and autistic it all seems so common sense ToT
@@setheus I know, right? But to be fair, I genuinely think that people have a tendency to forget the personhood of others frequently when they want something. Just look at how service workers are treated, or even how people approach celebrities sometimes. It's just an especially wide phenomenon with women because we have decades, nay, centuries worth of media putting them in that role and putting men in the role of conquerer. If you even just look for stories about heterosexual friends who remain friends, you find SO little. After being bombarded with that for a lifetime, that does something to people. So it's worth constantly reminding ourselves and others. We are human. Everyone else is human. Actions of others do not revolve around us. Also tho, some of this advice works differently for men. A lot of guys never get compliments on their natural features, so they glow for weeks when they get one. Or they enjoy being "tested" as a little friendly competition of sorts. It's not all 1 to 1. Of course, that also doesn't extend to all men but you know. Getting a compliment from a stranger feels less dangerous to most of then and is therefore more often welcome.
I feel like if this common sense advice isn't common sense for the fellow, he's not going to take advice like "no means no," unfortunately. Oh well. I guess I'm picturing the typical dehumanizing misogynist trying to get laid to brag to his bros; I suppose there are also awkward lonely men who do have empathy but lack social skills, willing to develop them, who try to approach women. Never encountered any, but anything's possible.
@@randl7423 Yeah, but you know... I'm not talking to that guy, really. I'm talking to guys who may watch this video and by the end of it, sit there staring at the wall like "Okay, so this is what not to do... but what SHOULD I do? Are compliments just generally creepy? Is it not okay to talk to women?" And might scroll down to the comments as they ponder this. Let's also not forget that a lot of the people currently targeted by PUAs and redpillers are teenage boys and teenagers can overcomplicate or have weird ideas of the most mundane stuff. It's always worth to offer a positive branching path to people like that before the pipeline can fully get them. As a society we're very quick about how not to do things and about calling stuff common sense when even common sense is something learned, not inborn. I may be especially empathetic on that layer because as a woman with ADHD, my social development was extremely stunted and I had to consciously learn how to be approachable when I wanted to be, how to socialize, and how to correctly read people. So I often consider how much it may have twisted me if at that point in time, I would have been as surrounded with patently false information about how to behave as boys and men are. Heck, partially, that DID happen. Many of my worst delays were caused by media modeling toxic behavior for me.
His photos of the people who know he's doing it are nice pictures! And when someone says "no" it seems like he accepts it and says "okay have a nice day." It seems like he could totally just...have nice conversations, make genuine connections with people and offer to take their photos. He just needs to let them know he's recording, and get rid of the whole pickup artist thing. I would love to watch this guy talk to people on the street, be friendly, treat them as people. Human connection is a lovely thing. Honestly this is the first pickup artist I've seen who I could see becoming something better.
Him pulling out a camera with 2 hands while still filming was the greatest plot twist in cinema history Also, why is he carrying around a camera if he isn’t even using it lmaooo
Because he is recording from a special pair of glasses, the camera he holds is just a part of his pickup scam to pretend to be a photographer. That way if anyone tells him he is a slime ball, he can say "oh no I was actually calling you beatiful cus I am a photographer I didn't mean it like that". And coercively continue the conversation. That and he just has a very simplistic & sexist view of all women wanting to be photographed.
3:21 She seems upset. She doesn't look at him and says "thank you" in her customer service voice. And who says thank you after someone gives you their number, anyway? Something's off.
There was definitely heavy editing involved to make it look like he came out on top. My husband is Canadian, but he’s an Anglo from Ontario. All I know from him is that people in Montreal can be cold hard biches if they don’t like you. She tore him tf down without him even realizing it. You could tell she thought he was absolute trash.
how is it not illegal for him to secretly record strangers with a hidden camera and post it to social media without their consent, IS THAT NOT A CRIME JN THE US???
There's no expectation of privacy in the US when you are in public places. It's annoying, but I think the ramifications of restricting photos and film making in public would be worse than banning the practice to stop this kind of video. It would mean elimination of street photography, and large chunks of documentary filmmaking, and some types of journalism. Is there a real harm being caused by being filmed on the street? If there is, does that harm outweigh the benefits of art forms that would be caught up in that kind of law? Should we really be putting these guys in jail, or would a lesser penalty be sufficient?
@@andersonneil2293 no offense but you sound pretty uninformed about what goes on in other countries lol do you actually think better privacy laws for stuff like that impact journalism, or any type of art for all of us living in countries where our privacy is protected ?

Genuinely one of my biggest anxieties is that someone will film me in public and then post it on tiktok. It makes me really really sad and kind of afraid that people think it’s okay to film and post interactions without consent, especially if the interactions are edited. The last thing on earth I want is for someone to approach me already filming… it straight up gives me the heebie jeebies
Some guy once tried a pick up line on me in the train station and I didn’t even realise it at the moment. At first he asked me if I speak English - understandable since we were in Germany. I said yes and expected him to ask me about the train schedule. However, he then started to stammer and eventually asked me what kind of perfume I used. Confused, I told him that I don’t use perfume and that he must have smelled someone else's. Then I started thinking that he tried to smell me, which weirded me out.
i HATE that we have normalised filming strangers in public without their knowledge for content. my friends and I were unknowingly filmed by an rc car during a school event. I was new to the school so i thought maybe some engineering student had made it for fun, i had no idea is was filming and then posting those videos to thousands or millions of people. i felt so violated (i was also wearing a short dress and with a camera that low it got an angle that i did not want the world to see, but in general i don't want to be filmed without my constent) and i would've had no idea this happened if my friend didn't happen to get a video on her fyp and recognized the party. it was pretty horrible to find out my face and body were on the internet and that nearly 100k people had seen it
Yall he was using those special filming glasses to film them you can kinda see the 2 cameras in the top left corner of the left lens frame and on the top right corner of the right lens frame at 16:17
It doesn't need to be a Go pro. It could be one of those tiny cameras they attach to their clothes or the Ray bans with the cameras built into them! And yes, these dudes are weird. One of the guys even played the r... Card when she rejected him to force her into giving the number. And the young men in the comment section actually had positive comments for him after that.
These types of videos will always be insane to me bc I come from a place where the only strangers who approach you just to *talk* are always sketchy. You can approach friends on the street simply to talk. If they’re an acquaintance, you simply smile or wave in acknowledgment and continue walking. If they’re a stranger, unless you’ve been given a clear reason or opportunity to talk, you don’t talk. And if you do, it’s usually kept short. Like, if someone walked up to me and started asking where I was from out of nowhere, I’d get so fucking anxious immediately. I would think I was about to be killed lmao
One time I was in Santa Monica visiting and this guy saw me on a bench minding my business enjoying the beach w my journal & he’s like do you want to be in a video ? Mind u it’s like 2018 and I think this dudes name was box something he’s rlly annoying on the internet but I didn’t know him he came up on a scooter looked at me and stopped and asked me that and I kindly smiled and went nope!!!!!! He went away but like girl I can’t imagine just dealing w pick up artists like this holy shit
This whole culture of filming people without consent and turning every interaction into content really freaks me out these days, especially as I tend to be someone who is willing to stop and chat to people in case they need help, directions, etc. A friend of mine got "pranked" like that for a tiktok at a London train station a couple of years ago and the dudes behind the account refused to take the vid down. Just leave people alone!
is that masha kata in the first video??? oh my god lmao i love her, she's a pretty well-known asmrtist that does self-care/advice related videos, it's so wild to just see her here
One of these guys showed up on campus and people were posting all over Reddit etc warning others. They absolutely use those sunglasses that can record video but with the LED taped over or covered somehow so you can’t even tell.
If I randomly heard “excuse me, your grace” I’d think someone was praying out loud tbh 😂 Also oof at the mom setting up so many free shots for him and him just completely missing every single one and the shade from Masa and Sarah 💀
The reason why he approaches people while they’re doing something, is probably because it’s harder to disengage when you’re preoccupied. He sort of traps them in a conversation, so he won’t get rejected instantly.
I'm so glad that I grew up ugly and invisible because I didn't have to deal with any weird creeps like this. The only time I actually got attention in that way was from guys asking me out as a joke/prank. I don't know how conventionally attractive women do it, I commend them but also wish they didn't have to worry about creeps. Of course, at my big age of 26, I don't have to wonder anymore because I've gotten approached by men about 5 times this year. (before that, it was 2 in total and they don't count as they were pranks) So now I'm having to navigate being percieved as attractive and change how I interact with the world. It sucks, lmao.
@6:53 some states have two party approval for recording, but in public there’s no expectation of privacy; anyone can film in public with no approval or request needed. It’s nice to obtain, but unfortunately not a requirement.
“I don’t know why they keep the conversation going!” Neither do we Jarvis, neither do we. And yet people will still tell us it was our fault we didn’t do enough to push him away or it’s awful for us to assume that they are hitting on us

Very well said!!
1:50 in french it would be "un peu" or "un petit peu" (a bit vs a little bit) :)

His photos of the people who know he's doing it are nice pictures! And when someone says "no" it seems like he accepts it and says "okay have a nice day."
It seems like he could totally just...have nice conversations, make genuine connections with people and offer to take their photos. He just needs to let them know he's recording, and get rid of the whole pickup artist thing.
I would love to watch this guy talk to people on the street, be friendly, treat them as people. Human connection is a lovely thing. Honestly this is the first pickup artist I've seen who I could see becoming something better.
Him pulling out a camera with 2 hands while still filming was the greatest plot twist in cinema history
Also, why is he carrying around a camera if he isn’t even using it lmaooo
So a girl will come up an ask questions about it, would be my guess.
probably for the 'photographer' story he went with
Because he is recording from a special pair of glasses, the camera he holds is just a part of his pickup scam to pretend to be a photographer. That way if anyone tells him he is a slime ball, he can say "oh no I was actually calling you beatiful cus I am a photographer I didn't mean it like that". And coercively continue the conversation. That and he just has a very simplistic & sexist view of all women wanting to be photographed.
@@404maxnotfound Oh god, that's suddenly... way creepier

He likely did something to her and cut it out
There was definitely heavy editing involved to make it look like he came out on top.
My husband is Canadian, but he’s an Anglo from Ontario. All I know from him is that people in Montreal can be cold hard biches if they don’t like you. She tore him tf down without him even realizing it. You could tell she thought he was absolute trash.

0:45 shout out to Impractical Jokers for knowing what consent and face-blurring is (why is this so hard for people)
how is it not illegal for him to secretly record strangers with a hidden camera and post it to social media without their consent, IS THAT NOT A CRIME JN THE US???
It is not a crime in public spaces, which this is.
@@Signy8WILD

Okay but literally if ANYONE wouldn’t agree that my mom was beautiful I would never speak to them again. Doing it WITH HER THERE???? I may be going to jail but I won’t be held responsible for my actions

Unfortunately that can be dangerous if the guy gets angry. As a woman I feel trained to not cause a scene
Luckily in my city the cant hear them move works everytime.@badger6882
@star0nyx yeah, i live in a city of 1.5mil and it works for me - i also actively wear visible chunky headphones even if i'm not playing any music. it feels less like a scene than acknowledging and saying something to them, honestly

This is literally just paparazzi for the unfamous
Now for government mandated bodyguards for all women

That’s so disgusting
Excuse me what?????
Yeah it's definitely in those glasses he's wearing
Oh man I thought of the wrong r word at first jeezus

These types of videos will always be insane to me bc I come from a place where the only strangers who approach you just to *talk* are always sketchy. You can approach friends on the street simply to talk. If they’re an acquaintance, you simply smile or wave in acknowledgment and continue walking. If they’re a stranger, unless you’ve been given a clear reason or opportunity to talk, you don’t talk. And if you do, it’s usually kept short. Like, if someone walked up to me and started asking where I was from out of nowhere, I’d get so fucking anxious immediately. I would think I was about to be killed lmao
"My mom will love you." Sounds like stalker or trafficker language.
Had big Norman Bates vibes to me.
If someone said either “My mom will love you” or “My dad will love you” or anything else, I’m either fighting or running.

tbh this happens too often in public ESPECIALLY at conventions with cosplayers. please just leave people alone it is not that hard 😭
Guys like this make me look back fondly on those pickup artists that pay actress to fake the interactions and pretend they're into them.
One time I was in Santa Monica visiting and this guy saw me on a bench minding my business enjoying the beach w my journal & he’s like do you want to be in a video ? This whole culture of filming people without consent and turning every interaction into content really freaks me out these days, especially as I tend to be someone who is willing to stop and chat to people in case they need help, directions, etc. A friend of mine got "pranked" like that for a tiktok at a London train station a couple of years ago and the dudes behind the account refused to take the vid down. If a creep like this asked me what a guy shouldn't do to get a girls attention, I would 100% say " go up to them with a camera and harassing them"
One of these guys showed up on campus and people were posting all over Reddit etc warning others. They absolutely use those sunglasses that can record video but with the LED taped over or covered somehow so you can’t even tell.
I feel like all pickup artists are inherently creepy
apparently these guys record with those special glasses that capture stuff
If I randomly heard “excuse me, your grace” I’d think someone was praying out loud tbh 😂
Also oof at the mom setting up so many free shots for him and him just completely missing every single one and the shade from Masa and Sarah 💀

I actually like the rejection rizz video because it shows the young guys watching not to freak out if they shoot their shot and miss
