- No. 5 Florida State opened October with a 39-17 win over Virginia Tech, improving to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the ACC. The Seminoles jumped out to a 22-0 lead in the first quarter, FSU's largest first-quarter margin since 2016, and the defense did not allow a point in the second half. Running back Trey Benson rushed for 200 yards on 11 carries, breaking the program's single-game record for rushing average (18.2), and Johnny Wilson caught two touchdown passes from Jordan Travis. Linebacker Kalen DeLoach led the Noles with a career-high nine tackles and defensive end Jared Verse tied a career high with 2.0 sacks.

@@C_71"they" nobody ever thought you should be replaced. Deion was interviewed for the job then they went back to the interview like the second time. After the second interview there was no question Mike Norvell was the right choice for the job.
The only people that wanted Deion was a very small contingent of Deion only fans on RUclips.

I attended FSU in 1974-75. I believe the Nole's record was (74) 1-10 and (75) 3-8. It didn't matter - we still loved our team. There have been many great teams between then and now along with three national titles. However... it sure is nice to see this year's team at 5-0. Go get 'em Noles! Can't wait to see the annual Thanksgiving game against the Gators, who are looking poorly this year.
For those of us serving overseas, these are such a blessing when the time difference doesn't allow us to watch the game.

Week by week small improvements but visible improvements, nonetheless. We have yet to play our best game and to truly put it all together for 60 minutes. Lord if this team ever figures out how to keep the foot on the gas and never let up, we could truly compete for a national title.

I don't know if all teams do this, but they should. I've liked this team from my many visits to Florida back in the 70s, and then when Deion Sanders played for them in the 80s! I live in a huge B1G town just yards away from the stadium. I asked the A.D. why they don't get the big time recruiting. You'd think that people would want to go to a school that plays on national TV all the time. Most of these ACC, Big-12, PAC-12, and SEC schools wouldn't have their successes if they lived in a child climate state! You rarely see students from warm weather states universities. It's either they take was they're offered, and now it's NIL money!
