Since there was smoke in the car from the ignition switch area and terminal 15 goes direct to terminal 15 on the ignition coil, one might be inclined to blame the ignition coil. However the 123 ignition distributor is also powered from coil terminal 15. Since the question was “what component failed” and wiring isn’t a component, that leaves the ignition switch itself, the ignition coil, and the ignition distributor.
I’m inclined to blame the ignition distributor primarily due to the locating tab on the rotor appearing distorted or melted from excess heat.
Wow you seem to know your stuff and I guess you could have been the 1 that would have diagnosed the problem spot on if you would been next to me that day and the day before. ignition switch
There are maybe 1000 reasons why an ignition switch can fail. A 1000 other parts can also fail. Noted Harold
Kortsluiting in de elektronische ontsteking wat ook de draad naar het contactslot heet doet worden.

Een electrisch probleem door een sluiting en de bedrading smelt daardoor onder de paravan. Is my guess.
Vandaag thuisgekomen na een revival van een barnfind een 55 jaar oude 2002 die 23 jaar stil heb gestaan. Naartoe gevlogen en 1100 km mee naar huis gereden. Na 100km geen koppeling meer de rest gereden met tussengas en we hebben het gehaald.
Ff vlog 2 voor het antwoord bekijken. Die bring a trailer ritjes zijn de mooiste. Vooral als het zoals bij jou op creativiteit aankomt. Voor mij de laatste keer naar zuid Portugal voor m’n ford mk1 met een maat. Op de heenreis turbo van de california in baskenland opgeblazen. Alle spanjaarden op vakantie dus 2 dagen wachten op een huurauto. 40 graden +. Bosbranden net net goed doorheen gekomen. Proefrit. 2 dagen knokken met de Portugese overheid om dat ding het land uit te krijgen. Opladen en weer 2200 km terug naar het noorden. Maar … 1 groot avontuur en hij staat in de schuur! Groet
@@DoctorCarLove ja Portugal is een lastig land om te exporteren. En dan met die bosbranden erbij klinkt bijzonder spannend. Die wij hebben opgehaald kwam uit zweden. Mochten de platen van de eigenaar er op laten zitten en dat ding verzekerd op zijn vin nummer. Ja het avontuur was mega, ook het feit dat je weet dat het 23 jaar niet gelopen hebt en van alles kan fout gaan. En dan kom je toch hinkend thuis 😊

Vermute einen direkten Zusammenhang mit dem gebrochenen Verteiler Finger. Welle könnte gewandert sein….evtl der Scherspanstift gebrochen/ausgeschlagen? Folgeschaden am Gehäuse des Zündverteilerantriebes. Total ungewöhnlich zwar…🤷🏼♂️
