From compassion and encouragement to full-throted rage...how I love this metaphor!!! Great review. I disagree with those whom complain that Darkglass only make drive pedal. So what! They're all awesome!
I mean-they specialize in bass distortion and have a lot of different approaches to it. (And they make the Harmonic Booster, Hyper Luminal and Element for those keeping score)
The GOAT of bass reviews. I’m a guitarist by trade but recently picked bass up again. I played through a Kemper but it lack in bass options, so adding a bass board to use with my ampeg profile. This video is brilliant and has ticked the box for me. Humour, playbacks, mix videos. Thank you Amos. Keep it up 🤘🏻
Hi Amos, I absolutely love your videos in all aspects. The presentation, the editing and the sound is amazing. I Love the way you start with dry in the mix and then dialing in the tone, backchecking with the dry signal now and then is the first time I really get a feeling of what a pedal really does. So thank you and keep going and I will keep watching! One question though: Your basses sound so much better than on other videos - can you give some details on your signal chain? Do use cab sim or compression in your DAW or is there more postprocessing done that makes your sounds much more studio quality than all the other reviews? Thanks ind advance :)
Hi Amos! First of all i love your reviews. I have a question for you. Would you go for an A/O ultra or an Alpha Omicron + Harmonic Booster? (since they cost almost the same)
That is a great question. I thought about it a bit, and while they’re not *quite* equivalent, I think I’d do the AO Ultra. It’s just so good sounding. EQ is awesome, and it is one of my favorite DG pedals. HB+AO has more flexibility, and the HB is a great always-on tone shaper. You could hardly go wrong either way
Love the tones you get from the Darkglass stuff. I refer to the drive knob the same way lol. I usually set it at just a little spite and bitterness so you can hear it has a chip on its shoulder. But, it can be fun to really get it pissed off and get my Muse on haha. Another to check out is the Malekko B;ASSMASTER. Pissed, full of hatred, possibly homicidal yet somehow wonderfully beautiful. And... it comes with a toy in the body (for realz) lol. I borrowed one and loved it but I could not contain it's fury and didn't have a project with a practical use for it so I haven't nabbed my own. Would love to hear your take on it.
So I got this pedal but mine sounds terrible. Using a fender P bass and EBMM into Kemper and can’t get a usable sound out of it. Really disappointed as Amos sold me with this demo.
To be honest this is the only line of Darkglass pedals which I don't like. I have a Vintage Microtubes, a B3K and a B7K and they cover all my drive needs.
Why the hell don’t you have more subscribers? Every demo/review you nail it!
We grab ‘em one at a time! Thanks!
@@AmosHeller Well, ya got me. Thanks for the awesome channel. Not sure I'll be gettin' more pedals atm, but I love watchin' you demo them.

Wow! I love all the sounds in this demo. Awesome pedal!
i'm really glad you're going back through the older dg stuff. that b3k video was super helpful and this one is too.
Best bass effects pedals reviews on RUclips, my man! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks!

Love your work, big fan. Cheers.
I've been waiting for this demo for a while! Great pedal, great playing, great video.
Thanks Reid!
Hey Amos…It’s me!! Great talking with you today!! Bass talk extra!!
Hell yeah man! Great talking with you too. Any time!
I buy it ! Great work
Amos! Can you review the vintage tubes by Darkglass?
I feel like Darkglass is under-represented in the Nashville area - I can't demo anything.
I will indeed. Stay tuned...
@@AmosHeller ... or maybe a Darkglass country session bass demo? 😁
#960 here, very high quality vids mr. Amos, keep it up!
Whats that background vocal, source, wuaaah woaah woaaaah, thadum bhum bhum ...... New subscriberobe the way you do the review.
Love the content, Amos
Thanks B!
Already got a Big Muff Pi, so I guess this one might not be the best for me. I'll go check your B3K & Vintage MT vids now ! Thanks :)

I’ve heard that’s a great pedal! I’d love to check it out.
Does this work on electric guitars or only bass

Me too. Bought one and don't like it.
What are some good pedals to pair with the Omicron
@@xvii8693 sounds great with:
Octave
Chorus
Heavy slow-attack compression
Low blend reverb
Delay
hey Amos, how does the alpha setting compare with the B3K?
Huh! Good question. Maybe a little warmer, more tube-like
@@AmosHeller thanks man, your channel is fantastic, keep up the good work 👍
Were you using a cab sim or amp with this or is straight into the DI?
Running into a Noble Bass Pre as a DI. No cab sim.

Seller’s remorse
I don’t think Finland is considered a part of Scandinavia, btw.
Do darkglass pay you for these reviews as you are immensely good at selling their products.
Has Darkglass something else except of Distortion / Fuzz pedals? Jes
Compressor, harmonic booster and amp simulator / headphone amp

This pedal has a very infectious tone - says December 2021. Bahahaha
A new variant of infectious grooves I'd say.
Amos, that Yamaha tone was too much.
Sorry!
Bought it and not impressed at all.
