Hello Friend, I need to replace both front cv axles , both shaft seals, control arms and breaks ( discs and pads) Would you say that these are all part of the same job disassembly/ assembly. What is the extimate hour count to do it all? Confused here by the local mechanic who told me that the axle seal is hard to get to and asked me for a lot more. thanks for your help
I managed to get the axle out and the new one in without removing the rear portion of the control arm. Not sure what the actual name is. I just pulled back the spindle and it popped right out.
What problem was with the old one? I have an issue on my E92. When I turn left on a speed 30-40mls/h appears some sound, but if I turn right on the same speed - there no sound. Bearing already replaced - not helped.
thanks for the details. I will be taking mine out to do the Oil Pan gasket. was there any O rings or gaskets to replace with removal and reinstallation?
@@beatsbynando4068 I actually decided to not do the oil pan gasket. I bought all the stuff and decided I would let the next owner take it from there and lightly tighten the oil pan bolts instead which slowed the leak
I just did this today and I didn't lose any fluid at all. I'm not sure if xdrive is different from the 330xi but the axles go into the front diff not the transmission
Help. I have my 06 325xi wagon apart and the 36mm 12 socket isn’t working. It just spins. Anyone hear of ??? A mechanic applying a ?? 34 or 32mm nut? Supet confused.
Too bad the owner of the BMW didn't have replacement control arm and everything else that connect to it so then he wouldn't have to do it again You did a wonderful job It's similar what I did on the E46
Having this kinda fun with my wife’s e90 xdrive this weekend. Thanks for the video made my life that much easier no guessing involved 👍✌️
Same boat…
Same
Thank you so much for this video by far you make it very simple...great video !!!
Can you do a video showing replacement of the xdrive system for this same vehicle?
What's the cost average for this repair, i need this done on passenger front?

If it’s a clicking sound when you turn left is probably your cv axle
Thank god for you🙏🏿🙏🏿

Do you lose any transmission fluid from doing this? Will it need to be topped off afterwards?

Why couldn't you replace it with a new boot and why is the front differential known as a transmission
Abs sensor?? Broken?? ,👀✌️
I've replaced the cv axle about 3 times
.and the boot keeps on ripping?..idk what I'm doing wrong
Do you need a 46 mm impact socket?
@dabsfordayz2150 my car is on coilovers...do you think my install is not adjusting properly due to the coilovers....my cars AWD also
@@luisvargas8371any updates?
If you remove the strut from the knuckle that's all needed to remove axel.

It called for a 32mm socket after all. And the bolt atop the steering linkage? Whereas you needed an 18, mine requires a 21mm box wrench. So odd.
What size is that axle bolt
It's a 36mm 12-point
Great video ty

👌
328xi not 328i
It's a 328i x-drive, as he says. 328xi designation was on earlier models
