Most restaurants in and around Plaza Mayor are tourist traps (good example: the place with outdoor seating where you ordered that “empanada”…).

And that Tapa-Tapa place where you had dinner, although I wouldn’t say is a tourist trap, it’s only slightly better than a fast-food restaurant. (Avoid restaurants where there are pictures depicting food in the menus as they are oriented towards foreign people who don’t speak Spanish. It’s not quality food, but it won’t hurt your stomach either).

Thanks for your comments - good rule of thumb to remember. In spite of that, we did really enjoy the food at Tapa Tapa, so you never can tell!
