I was diagnosed with with Influenza Type B today, my symptoms are: 1: persistent cough 2: body ache, especially back pain 3: a fever (around 39 degrees celcius 4: soar throat but super painful soar throat 5: a strong headache, especially in the front part of the head, concentration is suffering and the pain is dull, sometimes can be sharp. Overall it feels like there is a big inflamed ball in the front of my head 6: dizziness 7: weakness, I can barely do anything, even moving my body to the other side of the bed is hard 8: congestion in my nose 9: occasional nose bleeding (just a few minutes tho) 10: slightly clogged ears Overall, it’s a bunch of symptoms and I have never experienced something like this in my life It’s truly painful. When I went to the ER today they gave me paracetamol and some hydration and released me a few hours later saying I should take ibuprofen and paracetamol and it can take up to 10 days for the symptoms to get better, I’m at day four now and I just hope it will go by sooner than later. Sending everyone having influenza right now lots of love and strength 🫶🏼
@@StinkyJoe-sj5hi ugh I'm sorry. I went to the ER (this was last year now) with a 102 fever and I couldn't speak because my voice had been gone for two weeks and I couldn't breath and they didn't give me a dam thing except an Influenza A diagnosis from the nasal swab. I still have a lingering cough nearly a year late. I hope you get well soon!
Influenza B here. I’ve been throwing up and sweating profusely in spells for six days now. My husband had it first and passed out cold while shivering from the cold sweats. Walking to the living room is exhausting. It feels like this is never going to end. My doctor injected and prescribed an anti-nausea medicine which has helped considerably since yesterday. I still feel like absolute garbage with bouts of profuse sweating while just being still and think the respiratory issues might be turning into bronchitis. I can’t for the life of me understand why or how B is less severe than A. I had A last year and had two days that felt only slightly “off” and hiked throughout the rest of it. B is absolutely dreadful in comparison for me personally.
My 12 year old Grandson has the flu type A..He so SKINNY cause he can't keep ANYTHING down..He has such a very bad cough and is constantly vomiting and diarrhea.. Last night my daughter took him to the ER again cause he's severely dehydrated..ER doctor ordered a chest xray and IV for him after 8 hours of waiting to be seen.. Today he has a doctor's appointment for his dry cough that has him gagging with every cough..Plus he still won't eat..ER doctor said it's ok if he doesn't eat as long as he drinks Gatorade and keeps it down.. My Grandson won't drink anything..So back to the hospital he goes..
I have influenza A Day: 1 : sore throat, congestion Day 2 : sore throat, cough and congestion Day 3 : sore throat, raspy voice, cough, congestion, stuffy noise, cold chills and night sweats Day 4 : sore throat (not as bad),cough(mild), stuffy nose, and a little bit of congestion Day 5 : sore throat (very mild, almost gone) , congestion (little bit)
Thank you for sharing the progression of your symptoms with Influenza A. It's important to monitor your symptoms closely, and it appears that you are gradually improving, which is a positive sign. Typically, influenza symptoms can last for several days, and it's not uncommon for them to gradually decrease in severity as your immune system fights off the virus. Continue to rest, stay hydrated, and follow any recommendations or treatments advised by your healthcare provider if you have sought medical attention. While your sore throat is improving and other symptoms are becoming milder, it's essential to continue taking it easy and allowing your body to recover fully. If you notice any new or worsening symptoms or if you have any concerns, don't hesitate to consult with your healthcare provider for guidance and reassurance. Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery!
I have type A at the moment (literally right now) and so does my girlfriend, she's got all the symptoms and is bedridden and i don't. My symptoms were, Day 0, slight cough (once every hour) day 1, I just had a cough and asthma, day 2, I had a cough, asthma and a tight chest. Day 3, cough causing throat to hurt a little, asthma and coughing up little bit of yellow phlegm. It's honestly bizarre how some people are way worse then others.
Back in February got sick with Covid but it wasn’t as nearly as awful. Influenza A caused Hyperventilation to me-really thought I was gonna die. My hands and legs became very numb, and there was a huge pressure on my chest. Plus other symptoms like feeling cold, headache, dizziness, also vomiting when I received the shot to slow down my heart. They told me that I have Hyperventilation from anxiety, but I kept explaining to them that I felt very calm the whole time. Doctors thought I was on drugs since I was calm but my heart was jumping out of my chest. But the results came in and turned out I have Influenza A-really can’t say how I got infected since I stayed home for 2 days. Never got this sick in my life-awful experience. Huge thanks to the doctors, though!
@@nextlevelbruh827 My dad right now has almost the same symptoms as yours, mainly coughing, dizziness after eating, and heart jumping out of his chest. I wonder if the Influenza wore off for you.
When I had the Flu type A in December 2023 I found it so difficult to breath.. I slept for 2 weeks sitting leaning against the wall.. My whole family was sick including 2 yr old twins.. After 1 week of finally being well we all go sick again from the flu.. I personally thought I wasn't going to make it.. Hope I never get the Flu again..
I just left the hospital. Felt sooooo sick for 2 days.Thought I had Covid again. Nope, tested positive for influenza A. I'm 67 years old and this shit kicking my butt!!! I've had all the vaccines and a Booster.

I’m currently pregnant and i just got diagnosed with influenza B :( Don’t mean to seem over dramatic but it is so horrible, the flu symptoms PLUS all the morning sickness and nausea 😭 I’ve been sick for a week
I'm truly sorry to hear that you're going through such a challenging time with Influenza B, especially while you're pregnant. It can be incredibly tough to deal with flu symptoms on top of the normal discomforts of pregnancy, such as morning sickness and nausea. During pregnancy, it's crucial to take extra precautions and seek appropriate medical care when you're dealing with an illness like the flu. Please continue to stay hydrated, rest as much as possible, and follow your healthcare provider's advice and prescribed treatments to help alleviate your symptoms and ensure the well-being of both you and your baby. Wishing you a speedy recovery and better health soon, and I hope your pregnancy progresses smoothly from here on out.
I have influenza for the first since a child. I am now 44. Temp 38.9 degrees Celsius. I just had some food and now I take some soup. My headache hurts, but over 2 hours I take 2 paracetamol. Hopefully I can sleep...😢
My daughter tested positive for type A. (Phoenix AZ). They had not had FLU vaccine in years. So now I am determined to have them get FLU vaccine this coming season. Who knows what strain will be going around next FLU season.
Just got diagnosed with Flu B two days ago and my worst day I had chills, sweating, stuffy nose, and my body just ached all over. I probably got maybe 2 hours of sleep that night. Last night however, I lost my sense of taste and smell. I never knew that the Flu could mess with you senses like that, but hey you live and you learn.
I'm sorry to hear that you've been diagnosed with Influenza B, and it's unfortunate that you're experiencing these uncomfortable symptoms. Influenza can indeed cause a wide range of symptoms, including loss of taste and smell, although it's less common than the more typical symptoms like fever, chills, aches, and congestion. The loss of taste and smell is an interesting yet challenging aspect of viral illnesses like the flu and, as you mentioned, it can be surprising to experience. It's important to rest, stay hydrated, and follow any guidance or treatments recommended by your healthcare provider to help manage your symptoms and support your recovery. If your symptoms persist or worsen, or if you have any concerns, it's always a good idea to consult with your healthcare provider for further evaluation and advice. Wishing you a swift and complete recovery, and I hope your sense of taste and smell return soon.
I have influenza now, not sure which one. Can’t have the influenza vaccine because of an egg allergy. I also have Graves’ disease. My boyfriend had influenza that I caught. I had a fever of 102, had the worst chills and body aches, hot and cold, hot and cold. All the lymph nodes in my neck inflamed and i was in agony, there was no position I could lay to ease the neck pain. I had the runs and vomiting. Then on day 3 ( today) I got a sore throat, and my lymph nodes feel better but still hurt. I have no energy at all. Last night I had the chills again and woke up drenched in sweat. Surprisingly, I have no head cold! I do have an occasional dry cough.
Hi @SparkyOne549 , I'm sorry to hear you're feeling this way. Tested positive last night. Temperature 39. Better today. But the worst I've ever been, I had so much body pain - unbearable for a couple of hours. Was gasping for air, heart rate went thru the roof, went straight to the hospital. I don't wish this upon anyone. My symptoms were clearly worst that others, but just be careful. I went from 0 to 100 in less than 3 hours, it hit me hard.
I'm truly sorry to hear about your severe experience with the flu, and I appreciate you sharing your story as a cautionary reminder for others. i just tested positive to influenza A… i hate it, i’m 12 and this is kicking my butt like crazy. edit: i get the chills then i sweat so much and i have a fever :(
I hope you are getting well now!! And feeling way better. 🍵🥄🙏Chicken soup 🐔and bone broth🍗 are supposed to be very healthy, and If your throat hurts, it might help. I don't normally mind a chunky chicken soup, but if my throat is very sore, it is better if everything is cut smaller and cooked a bit more.🍜Foods that are hot enough to steam might be good. Just be very careful! You can breathe in the warm mist for possible relief. Very warm tea with honey it can be a wonderful option. Washcloths with water can be beneficial. Sometimes cool feels better, sometimes really warm does. A humidifier might be helpful. Maybe an adult will help you set up some or all of this stuff you need?
I'm really sorry to hear that you've tested positive for Influenza A, and it's tough to hear that you're feeling so unwell. Influenza can be particularly challenging, and it can affect people of all ages. It's essential to prioritize your health and recovery during this time. It can be a difficult experience, but with the right care and support, you'll hopefully start feeling better soon. Don't hesitate to reach out to your parents or healthcare provider if you need assistance or have any questions about your treatment. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

I tested positive for flu A & B Updates: Day 1: sore throat woke up at 4:00 am felt bad, also had body aches in my legs and back slept half the day (WORST DAY) Day 2: felt a little better compared to yesterday my legs were still weak and had very bad headache all day and a bad fever Day 3: I could eat a little more I got my medicines so I took them twice a day, only thing today was a cough
Oh my god you had it easy compared to me! I have A and B combination I've been bed ridden for 5 days, unable to eat or drink for first 3 days and when I finally drank a little water I threw it up. I couldn't move at all other than to twist my position for all the back pain I had. Weak to the bones and no muscle ability- I couldn't move across my bed even to grab my phone for help. Headache, dizziness, intense fever, sneezing, coughing, I also have sinus disease so nose wouldn't stop dripping. Chest pain. Lots of phlegm. And the worst part was my house mate decided he was having friends around for drinks and all I wanted to do was rest but every time I dropped off for 10 minutes I could hear them being loud and doors slamming every time they went out to smoke. I sort of wished I'd just die at that point. On day 5, still unwell but been to the hospital and finally able to take paracetamol which was impossible for the first 3 days. Its shocking that no one in the world has resolved the entire virus issue in 2024! Come on world there has to be a way to end viruses. CrispR seems to be the answer but sketchy territory.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to your healthcare provider for personalized guidance and support during your recovery.
@@lecturionursing I will say i needed a hell of a lot of water throughout this illness. I've been ill many times in life but never required quite so much water in my system as this. The doctor I saw at A+E was going to give me antivirals but as there wasn't an issue with my kidneys etc he let me go without them and told me I must keep taking paracetamols every four hours and I'm really glad I did, as all in all this bout of flu lasted almost two weeks now, and I'd say I'm at about 90 - 95% right now.

Flu B compounded by urinary tract infection. After five days appetite has returned. Went to ER got antibiotics for uti, Mucinex, Oseltamivir, Benzonatate. I was so cold and couldn't hold my urine coughing my guts out. Felt like dying. Ironically saw cadaver. You see just how brutally cold this world is. I passed out and hit my face on the bathtub while trying to use the toilet woke up in a cold sweat. Immediately got in cool shower.

Flu A On Day 1, I felt fine but later in the day at work, I started feeling feverish and tired. I took Tylenol and felt fine, so I went to a work event because I thought it was a fluke. However, on my way home, I felt really exhausted, out of breath, and tired. On Day 2, I woke up with a fever that went from 99.5 to 102.5 in an hour. I was bedridden, had no appetite, and had a headache. By the night, I developed a terrible cough and was congested. I couldn't sleep. Crazy body temp fluctuations. On Day 3, The fever was lower, the cough continued and I was still congested. And now on Day 4, I still have general lethargy, no fever, but I am still congested and the cough is less severe than previous days. Yet to get of bed, the took 3 days off, I am not even working from home. It's honestly hard to imagine doing anything

I was diagnosed with with Influenza Type B today, my symptoms are:
1: persistent cough
2: body ache, especially back pain
3: a fever (around 39 degrees celcius
4: soar throat but super painful soar throat
5: a strong headache, especially in the front part of the head, concentration is suffering and the pain is dull, sometimes can be sharp. Overall it feels like there is a big inflamed ball in the front of my head
6: dizziness
7: weakness, I can barely do anything, even moving my body to the other side of the bed is hard
8: congestion in my nose
9: occasional nose bleeding (just a few minutes tho)
10: slightly clogged ears
Overall, it’s a bunch of symptoms and I have never experienced something like this in my life It’s truly painful.
I have it right now ....im in so much oain.
I am dealing with it right now its the worst thing i ever experienced 😢
I have influenza a now and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever had.
Have you recover from influenza A?

@@StinkyJoe-sj5hi ugh I'm sorry. I went to the ER (this was last year now) with a 102 fever and I couldn't speak because my voice had been gone for two weeks and I couldn't breath and they didn't give me a dam thing except an Influenza A diagnosis from the nasal swab. I still have a lingering cough nearly a year late. I hope you get well soon!
The best way I can describe it is like having the worst hangover ever.... for 7 days straight!
Hope you are feeling better now!
Yes!!
Now that you mention it, yes it foes fewl like a hangover
B is absolutely dreadful in comparison for me personally.
me too l have that shit is worse

My symptoms were,
Day 0, slight cough (once every hour)
day 1, I just had a cough and asthma, day 2, I had a cough, asthma and a tight chest.
Huge thanks to the doctors, though!
hope you are feeling better now!
My name is also Jay and currently I have type A and all the symptoms are the same as yours

I'm truly sorry to hear about your severe experience with the flu, and I appreciate you sharing your story as a cautionary reminder for others.

I tested positive for flu A & B
Updates:
Day 1: sore throat woke up at 4:00 am felt bad, also had body aches in my legs and back slept half the day (WORST DAY)
Day 2: felt a little better compared to yesterday my legs were still weak and had very bad headache all day and a bad fever
Day 3: I could eat a little more I got my medicines so I took them twice a day, only thing today was a cough
So we're you starting to feel just a little better before taking medication as well?
how long did it last?
Thank you for sharing the progression of your symptoms with Influenza A and B. It's essential to monitor your condition closely, especially when dealing with both strains simultaneously. It's not uncommon for the flu to cause a range of symptoms, as you've experienced.
As you continue with your medications and treatment, make sure to rest, stay hydrated, and follow your healthcare provider's guidance. The improvement in your appetite and reduced symptoms like body aches are positive signs.
Coughing can persist for a while after the initial onset of the flu, so it's essential to stay patient and continue taking care of yourself. If you notice any new or worsening symptoms or if you have any concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to your healthcare provider for further evaluation and support.
I hope you continue to recover and that your symptoms gradually improve. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery!

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with a combination of Influenza A and B, especially at a relatively young age. It's not very common to have both strains simultaneously, and it can indeed make your experience more challenging.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to your healthcare provider for personalized guidance and support during your recovery.
@@lecturionursing I will say i needed a hell of a lot of water throughout this illness. I've been ill many times in life but never required quite so much water in my system as this. Flu A
On Day 1, I felt fine but later in the day at work, I started feeling feverish and tired.
It's honestly hard to imagine doing anything
ugh. hope you feel better soon!
