Couldn't help but notice the amount of energy saving light bulbs dotted around the place so clearly not abandoned for that long
20 years or so
Yea I thought that too - 10 years max
The first fluorescent light bulb and fixture were displayed to the general public at the 1939 New York World's Fair. The spiral CFL was invented in 1976 by Edward E. Hammer, an engineer with General Electric, in response to the 1973 oil crisis.
@@seanadams8504 that’s so interesting. I’m pretty sure the ones plugged in a from Tescos supermarkets
I thought that too
That Rover 75 was actually registered 1999 under the old registration system (rather than 08) and MOT/Tax expired 2013, so been standing there for around nine years. That 2.5 litre engine would probably still start with some persuasion.
Don't wanna pry, but definitely think it would be worth bringing a hard hat along with you on these sorts of explores! awesome vid :)
IT does look like someone has gone through the home and looted. The water damage is depressing to see. History is slowly fading away before our eyes. Thank you Bearded Explorer and Crew for sharing with us your amazing finds. * From East coast USA.
The water damage often starts when scavengers rip out the copper pipes/tanks and the lead sealers on the old roofs.
Someone’s ashes left on the fireplace upstairs and the lid had been taken off.😡
Don’t know how you find these places but glad you do. They’d just fall to the ground undocumented if it wasn’t for people like you, that place sooner than most ! Thanks for taking the risk.😮👍
The fact that you published this video tells me that you got out of there alive! I love the details that you captured. The decay is sad when you see what happens to you belongings after you're gone. The book at 9:30 "Afar in the Forest written by William Henry Giles Kingston - if that is an original the first publication: 1869. I look forward to seeing Steve's video as well.
the silverware/Chinaplates/vases looks salvageable and the collapsed roof chandelier too
The first newspaper was obviously kept as a souvenir of the first man in space.
So very sad that a house like this has fallen apart. So many beautiful possessions left. Time capsules like this make for such amazing videos
Beautiful barley twist drop leaf table and a glazed book case.
Some very nice furniture left to rot.
I was salivating at some of it. Incredible wastage. Fascinating and sad story behind this.
Wow amazing to see the newspapers with a 5% off 1983 Escorts!
Agree with the other comments, 2012 motd car outside, energy saving bulbs, a newish looking smoke alarm, and the shotgun cartridges are only partly rusted. I would think it was still being used, even if only partly, until about 10 or 12 years ago when something happened. Perhaps a catastrophic failure in the structure that meant it was too dangerous to approach never mind enter. Great explore, absolutely fascinating, wish I could get a blown up view of the book you held up. Many thanks as always.
15:41 literally thought the top left part of the couch was a dead old man's face, and he was lying buried in junk, I nearly shat myself
Wow judging by that aerial shot of the house it was huge. So sad to see how it's ended up and one day won't be standing at all. Was some cool stuff inside like the grandfather clock and chandelier. Thanks to you both for risking your lives to bring us this great content. Xx
At 25:19 in the first large bedroom you go in upstairs, there is an copper urn (with the lid off) on the mantle piece with cremains in... you can see the thick plastic bag that the cremains are placed in before they put them into the urns
Also looks like there is a partial name label on the left hand side of it, shame it's been left behind there 😢
What a beautiful property this must have been in its heyday with the pool and the beautiful fireplaces... another exceptionally great explore, well done!
Thats crazy youve mentioned that because I swear I heard something in the same room (25mins 05secs)! Weird!
@@Urb_Ex_Vix
Yeah I've just re listened... there's a weird sound like someone breathing through a respirator, and then when he pans to the urn it suddenly goes dead silent...
But I've noticed there are some strange sounds like that on and off throughout the video...
Wonder wtf it is lol?
You were so lucky to get in. We were caught by a very angry man with a crowbar whilst taking pictures of the pool and cars. There is a large site directly behind who claim it’s theirs. However looking at the state of the inside I think he did us a favour.
Fantastic find boys. So sad how it is decaying. Few more weeks and it will have all fallen down. So heartbreaking to see.
My two favorite urbexers Steve Ronin and the Bearded Explorer!
It is just incredible that such a beautiful and valuable building has been left to decay. It is such a very sad waste of a fantastic property. It must have been a beautiful house in its day. Thank you so much for showing us around, but just be careful mate. Brilliant explore as usual T. B. E 👍🏻.
The two mugs near the 25th wedding memorabilia say "Hazel" and "Keith" Maybe they were the owners of the Property Colin.....
Thank you Colin and Steve for risking life and limb for us….was quite a dangerous house and we appreciate you filming …Please stay safe out there and always be blessed. 🇺🇸🙏🏻♥️🦮
What a gem find colin, think you video'd this just in time before the whole place collapses. Thank you for risking life and limb to capture this time capsule but you do need to take care as this was so unsafe. Looking forward to your next video take care and keep safe 🙂👍
Incredible video guys, keep exploring!!
So satisfying and calming to look your video's... Thx
Hi guys great to see Steve with you.
Thanks for another great explore 👌 I bet back in the day that house was awesome 👌 thanks for sharing 👍 much love 💘 ❤ 😀
Hi Colin and Steve.
Hope you two are doing good.
That was one very cool video. That place is very massive.
Stay safe and take care.
Fantastic explore guys! I keep wondering if the painting above the second large fireplace is a painting of the actual house years ago? Going by the shape of the building … ? It amazes me how these places can be left to decay even if no living relatives. Please go careful we were on the edge of our seats watching you go upstairs !
That was a great house such a shame it was left to rot . Thank you for finding it and making this video.
That rover would be 99 00 on a v reg m8 see alot of people get confused with the old style plates 🤘
Wow Colin! The place is amazing but oh so dangerous! So much stuff left in there. Please be careful! That fireplace was beautiful. Such a shame that all of it will be destroyed when the home comes crashes down. 😳
Hi.. Sir.. I'm a great fan of yours.. Love your exploring video's.. Load of love from India ❤
Amazing place..such a shame though...All that lovley stuff will be beond saving before much longer..great explore.thanx for sharing.👍
Cool video Colin but extremely dangerous place as you shared ...would have been nice to see it is heyday aye .......looking forward to next time👍
Thankyou for showing us. Please be safe.
A leaky roof can do a lot of damage wow, it is a miracle it is still standing.
That was simply one of your best. It's a good thing you and Steve are not too big. If you can find any info about the place I am sure we would all like to know. What a place it must have been in it's it's prime. Thank you for literally risking your life. Wonderful video!!
What a amazing find thanks to you and Steve, well done you really was Risking your Lives in this one, this was brilliant 🙏😘❤👏👏👏👏👏
Some of them wardrobes were amazing, sounds like your carrying a heating system around with you☺️ xx
Great explore, imagine leaving beautiful pieces behind🙃
Hello, that book with the swastika on it doesn't necessarily mean that either the author or publishers were anything to do with the Nazis. Some copies of The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling also had a swastika just inside the book. It's thought to be based on the Indian sun symbol, which brings good luck and well being. What a great video! Loved it. 💕
Such a lot of decay in around probably 25 (ish) years roughly, from the date of the Rover. Someone's given it a good old rifle through their stuff prior to it falling down - wish they wouldn't! Thanks for a great video Colin!
The rover was mot in 2012, and is a 99?
Great place Colin 😎👍
Thanks Colin, an amazing place.. be careful!
Colin what amazing home that would been in its day sad it's left to fall apart great video thanks sharing with us 👍
What an immense place. So much bigger then it first looks. It's a shame that it's so far gone, it was probably a nice place to live back in the day. Certainly not a place any one should visit alone, too many areas ready to completely collapse.
It's a shame this building and the stuff will be never saved but it's a big problem in the uk today as with many people going into care homes from owning there own home, this what sadly happens
Another excellent video..well done
Great explore colin
That V reg Rover is 1999 mate not 2008 👍
Hi , Colin . I think you found that house just in time , as always , a very interesting exploration . Thanks for risking life and limb to keep us entertained . But please be careful out there .
This must have been a beautiful house in it’s time. It’s such a shame it has been left to decay like that, and with so many contents left behind. It’s in such a dilapidated condition that it won’t last too much longer. Judging by the energy saving bulbs, it won’t have been abandoned for all that many years. A fascinating explore. Thanks for taking us around it.
Great video matey great content too
Such a pity you cant rescue the grangather clock ✨
Bloody hell that place was seriously gone!! Unbelievable how Huge it was but nothing to show from the outside anymore. Kind of strange, some places you can easily imagine the people who lived there, but it was too far gone to see anything of the people or their character and personality 😕
This residence must have been amazingly beautiful when it was in its prime. Sadly, the funds it takes to keep it up is so so much that the money and funds and servants doesn't last long.
Sorry to point out the rover was a 1999 v reg. but great video 👍
Loved the vlog, so respectful the way you explain things
Love this! X
Another great vid Colin! Cheers from Oz
The car dates from 1999 as that is the V prefix not 2008👍
Yep and Rover went bust 2004.
The house is enormous
That's amazing especially when you think that a long long time ago it would have taken at least 10 people to keep that house up-to-date and clean and everything gardening and everything and nowadays you just can't have it
I live just down the road it's a shame even the locals would like to see something done with it. Guess it's to far gone now ☹️good to take a look inside nice work 👍💯
Beautiful credenza hall table.
9:38 - I see "An Eye For a Tooth" by Dornford Yates - first published in 1943. Actually a really entertaining adventure novel.
Buffet with a mirror top although you may think it’s an antique it’s not as old as the house.
What is that piano music intro because it's incredibly beautiful and nostalgic?. I love it as much as I love your explorations and discoveries ❤
4.14 those bottle remember me of, miniature gardens in a bottle back in the 80s
Such a shame those stained-glass windows in the door alone are worth saving. Well done. Stay safe.
What a dodgy house. Yikes. You guys are crazy but it was a fantastic explore. Poor old house. Wonder how much longer before the rest of the upstairs falls. Really cool stuff and we do appreciate what you do Colin. This one was very dangerous. Glad you and Steve got out ok. Cheers!
You know what Colin? You're bloody crazy!
yikes! Amazing place, but yikes! xx Thanks heaps. xx
TBE, that house is dangerous with a capital D, I can’t recall one that is so close to just falling down.. Like you I’m always amazed that these places have just been left and someone has walked away….
May blessings come to you.
Those fireplaces were awesome but such a dangerous place to explore.Such a shame places get left to end up in this state.
That has been some sort of care home . Wardrobe had green carers uniform top hanging and all those washing machines and fridge in upstairs room . Also lots of mattresses and beds.
Fantastic explore guys.Thank you for risking your life’s.😂
The stamps were co-op dividend stamps, they were given to customers with their change. The idea was you stuck them in a co-op book and redeemed them for goods when the book/books were full. Did anyone else notice the urn on the mantelpiece? If it had someone's ashes in it Colin you were probably being watched! Someone liked their guns too, surprised you didn't pick up the AK 3006 hand book. Great video again, thank you.. 👍
The AK 3006 is a Crane not a gun! Take a closer look at the brochure cover. The big green safe isn’t typical of gun safes and the military crates sat outside aren’t small arms ammunition types as far as I could tell. The owner could have bought the empty crates from a milsurp supplier simply as storage boxes
@@sullivanrachael The "AK 3006 is indeed a crane, my mistake, however I wasn't far out as the AK 30 06 was a rifle, (there may still be some out there) put that thought with the live ammunition and thats what got me to thinking someone liked their guns. The big green safe isn’t typical of gun safes, thats why I didn't mention it, and the military crates sat outside aren’t small arms ammunition types, they would probably only hold 2 much larger shells, thats why I didn't mention those either.
Interesting to see energy saving light bulbs in such an old building 🤔 Great video. Loved it.
thank you colin you are so lucky the floors or ceilings did not come down on you but a great find i wonder if some one who wright scrips for scary t v or films is a fan of yours oooooooow as allways take care good luck keep safe
Those energy saving bulbs aren't 30 years old
About 15 max.
That Rover sure wasn't 2008......
It’s so sad!!!!😢
Great video but can you do more of the fancy hotels that were mansions at one time 😊
You need a helmet! Wow what a wonderful find. Another abandoned home left to rot. I really like it when you go into buildings, because you respect them even though they are falling apart. Thumbs up again 👍
Such a shame its been left, you never know what happened 😔 they could have been in an accident? Or gone into a home with no family to salvage there belongings. There was an urn on the upstairs fireplace and I noticed on a couple of mugs with the name's Hazel and Keith in the lounge. Whatever happens to the building, I hope someone tries to salvage the antiques at least. Amazing video as always xx
Great video. Lay off the risking your life. As a child these were our playgrounds if your above 50 years of age .
Yep you are sure right- I recall going through a ceiling but I was a lot lighter then and gravity was a bit gentle LOL
amazing place , i find it so sad that these places are left to get this way , also as i know how you react with this subject , Did you not notice the face on the back of the sofa 😳 at about 15.42 on the time stamp
At 10.42 there was a fairly modern vcr or something. Looked a little bit missplaced.
The Rover was last due for Tax in September 2013, and the last change of the V5 was also September 2013 ?!
That house has been abandoned for longer than that by the looks of things !?!? I love a mystery 🤔🏴👍
That about fits with the 2010’s style energy efficient light bulbs though out the place. I wonder if the collapse was in the last 15 years, and that it was this that made the last people leave. Shame they didn’t maintain the gutters as the house would be almost perfectly preserved
Someone should save them antiques there part of history even go to charity
Hey BE just a heads up - comments on your latest video are turned off. Great barn find vid.
From the aerial photo it looked like the main building had a gully roof which are prone to water ingress if not maintained. That would explain the bad water damage in the centre section. What puzzles me is the 08 plate Rover in a place that looks like it's been abandoned for decades
It’s not a 2008 rover, v reg so a lot older
@@garyedwards842 a lot older? 99? 9 years older but the fact it has an 08 plate is still very significant.
Crystal chandeliers
Didnt you notice the urn with the bag inside could be human or a beloved pet at 25.20
Such a shame these places are falling apart.
20 years that's been abandoned for with those energy saving light bulbs
I thought you might have checked the inside of the rover it looked in fairly good condition
There was an urn of someone's ashes on top of one of the fireplaces upstairs.
