I’m primarily a costumier/tailor but I dabble in other things. I adore miniatures and I’ve had a little try but I can never get my things to stick together! They always fall apart! 😂
Seems like miniatures encompass every other art form. I've been fascinated since I was a child. Spent hours in the library looking at books on how to make my own. Never had a proper dollhouse.

OMG, I love the idea of using glass domes! Room boxes and houses take up so much space in our small townhouse. How is it that "miniatures" take up so much space? Haha!
I always thing that is the funny thing about miniatures.... you need to a big space to house them all lol!

Their job is to clean the moss and other bits off the clock so it works again so that The Guardian of the clock is always time. Their motto: In order for it to Tik and Tok, we must get the green off the clock!
Only they are a little behind at the moment thanks to Dave, who spends most of his time drawing on the protective dome with his slimy trail...

The snails are the Keepers of Time. They make sure we never go forward or backward in time. Snails don’t worry or rush, they’re perfect for guarding time :)
I love it! My favorite thing may be the relationship of the 12 snails with the 12 hours on the clock. I appreciate your thought process.

Suggestion ... when you vacuum the "flocking" stretch a nylon sock over the vacuum to collect the flocking to use again. It would also prevent anything that you may not want disappearing into the depths of the vacuum. Have a better day!

Victorians placed alot of things under bell jars. Plants, stuffed dead animals (tachedermy) sp., Expensive statues made from porcelain. For mantelpieces. Clocks were common so well done with your choice.
I have a metal pencil sharpener that’s shaped like a grandfather clock. It had belonged to my adult son and he left it behind when he moved out. It’s really nice and looks like an antique.
Funny how someone thought to make a pencil sharpener look so interesting, and durable.
When I was little one of my favorite things to make with play-doh, silly putty, etc were snails. This is a must for me now. I love the idea of snail gardens instead of fairy gardens!

This turned out so charming!
The top set of "tentacles" on a snail are actually their eye stalks. The lower set are their smell/sense organs. And if you ever find a snail with three sets, it's a carnivore and eats other snails. Herbivorous snails only have two sets. :)

@@BentleyHouseMinis There aren't many on mainland North America. There's the rosy wolf snail which was introduced into Hawaii as a form of pest control and it's got out of hand and migrated on produce to the southern US.
I, uh, maybe know too much about snails.

I'll catch a lift!”This is the trail of the tiny snail, A silvery trail that looped and curled and said, “Lift wanted around the world.” I love the story of the Snail and the Whale (from the makers of The Gruffalo) and we watch it quite often too! (yes, there is a movie!) Love this creation!

I buy these cloche's or domes whenever I can. I've made Christmas scenes with them. Cheese domes work too!
If you want the clay to be firmer (you said you deformed them when adding the tentacles), just pop them in the freezer for a few mins. Great job!

so cute, and to me the snails are time travellers, using the clock as a portal, they record time, and history, but unfortunately it gets repeated quite a lot, because their brains are not very big

Glass domes are a great idea. There's a guy in Europe that does miniature dioramas in test tubes. Amazing stuff. I'm currently working on wall mounted butterfly collections in 1/12 scale. If I ever get it figured out you may get a tiny package in the mail. . .

You can take brasso and rub onto the glass, allow to dry and then buff it. It should help with any scratches.

Just got some beautiful nice-sized domes from the dollar store, so hopefully, if anyone is trying to find one they can get one at their local dollar store.
I really like this I found a sack of 5 domes they're not Glass, but I knew I needed them I havent done anything with them yet. but now I'm thinking of something with little spiders...oh, I also have some MINI real glass domes for jewelry making but I am going to use them for a diorama

I got 2 dome from the Dollar store the other week! I clicked on your video when I saw you were doing a dome. That and I like snails :3 I wanted to make a Pokemon environment in one. But I feel it's too small... I really want to make an underwater theme on the other one. Even though they are small looking into tiny environments engages the mind as you never know what you might see in there. Find all the cute snails
