In their long career, Vanden Plas Official has only released one live album, "Spirit of Live," recorded in Paris at the legendary Elysée Montmartre, in 2000. With the upcoming release of "The Seraphic Live Works," the wait for another documentation of the band's immense talents asa live act is finally over!
Through many tours and countless concerts, Vanden Plas has proven again and again that it is among the world's leading progressive metal bands. The quintet's glowing reputation carries across the pond to the U.S. where Vanden Plas was invited to appear at the renowned ProgPower USA in Atlanta in 2011. Regardless of a band's fame, an invitation to this prestigious event is an honor and their performance is certainly a high note in Vanden Plas' history. And it is for exactly that reason that Vanden Plas decided to capture that unique moment.
"The Seraphic Live Works" shows unmistakably how extraordinary this gig at Center Stage Theater was for everyone involved. A performance exploding with energy, euphoric audience, and the venue's own special flair. The recordings will captivate every viewer and there is no question that Vanden Plas made the right decision to preserve this performance for eternity.
"The Seraphic Live Works" captivates and enthralls for nine songs, beginning with straightforward opener "Postcard to God" through the atmospheric "Far Off Grace" to the brilliant closer, "Silently." In this extended live version of the song, Vanden Plas ignites a prog metal fireworks display that is unparalleled, leading the listener through more than 11 magnificent minutes to a spectacular conclusion.
Vanden Plas has fans all over the world, but for those who have not yet been able to experience the band, they wanted to give them the next best thing with "The Seraphic Live Works." The audio and video capture an authentic band that stands out in the prog metal genre.

One of the best prog metal band ever, can't wait for the DVD!!!!
I've been a fan of Vanden Plas for the past 10 years or so and it's just a pity that I've never had the chance to see them alive. They are fantastic and Andy Kuntz vocals are no less than perfect in my modest opinion. They deserve all the recognition an amazing band like them can possibly get. And I hope I'll get to see them alive someday...
Gessica Rocha
Same here. Although I just recently discovered them about a year ago. Waiting for them to visit California
i have a dream to see this lovely band here in BRASIL
I have a dream that I will someday watch them live anywhere in the world 🌎 My life depends on it! 🤘
Imagine Dream Theater with his voice...
They'd be infinitely better. LaBrie was insane before he blew his voice out but sadly he just isn't that great anymore. Though I do have to say that the hate everyone gives James is absolutely ridiculous. The guy still does have a solid voice, he's just not where he used to be. Personally, though, I like VP's song structuring and brand of heaviness more than DT. I also prefer VP's lyrics too.
Why would anyone do that when they have THIS ?
Did you know they been around much longer than DT?
No love lost for DT, but that's like asking Mozart to play Beethoven ~ LoL
And so I did Imagine a bit and I think Jacob may be right. It is sad the hate Mr Labrie gets. And with Andy Kuntz in his chair I can imagine a Dream Theater with better sense of fluidity. A band that seemed more focused on what to play rather than what they can play. IMO ~ Falling Into Infinity is a prime example of what that sort of focus can accomplish. Though their prowess is amazing, I find their propensity to exhibit it somewhat tiresome. DT is amazing, but to me, VP is equally impressive
I can't believe I missed these comments, I totally agree with all of it though!
VP>DT
Great band and one of the best live singer!
VP are sublime !!!!!!!!!!!!!! they have long since replaced dream theater as my number 1.
These fantastic 5 guys unfortunately only a year ago discovered ....
Stephen tremendous guitarist!
Oh, what a band, my God.....i'm not, let's say, well informed about progmetal bands and that progmusic subgenre in general......really - I'm speechless - woooooowwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're lucky to find them then. I don't understand how they're still such a well-kept secret in prog metal. I was fortunate enough to somehow discover them, Fates Warning, and Dream Theater in the '90s at the same time. Only one of those bands is still amazing today.
Surrounded by a cover like a shield for all the faith
Surrounded by despite and never ending days
I'm living in a prison but I dare to die outside
That keeps my will alive
And we're sending out a message
And we're sending out a prayer
And the voices asking every night
Is there anybody there
Somebody knows, somebody knows
When I pray I can say
All my believing in just one word
When I pray then I may
Sending an unwritten postcard to god
And now you buy me roses
And some needless little things
You're singing me a song
In a tune that no none sings
I'm longing for these memories
They keep me warm and safe
You throw 'em in my grave
And I'm sending you a message
And I'm sending you a prayer
All the echoes whisper in my ear
Is there anybody there
Somebody knows, somebody knows
When I pray I can say
All my believing in just one word
When I pray then I may
Sending an unwritten postcard to god
When I pray I can say
All my believing in just one word
When I pray then I may
Sending an unwritten postcard to god
When I pray when I pray
When I pray when I pray
Wow. This sends me to such amazing years before social media and Spotify
AMAZING band , my fav still remains Colour Temple , simple a masterpiece !
Tour America already!
Geweldig mooie sound en opbouw van hun nummers. heerlijk.
(in DUTCH of course with a name like vanden Plas)
I wish James LaBrie was as good as Andy Kuntz, then Dream Theater would be very special.
Amazing band more people should be following. These guys know how to do prog metal and are one of the best! Dream who???
Najbolji progressive metal band na svetu ❤
Amazing track and band! Can´t believe no one does this band at their reaction channels. So underrated, amazing chorus and guitar solo. They have so many greats tracks. Hope they will release something new soon.
Saw them in 1997 in France, first part of Dream Theater, in a gymnasium!! 21 years ago yet !!!
They played with VP ?
I saw them at the same tour in Helsinki. Was not impressed then as the sound was really crap, DT sounded bad, too. The culture house in Helsinki should be banned as a concert venue. Found VP years later and was really surprised at how good they are and sound.
Oh, my God! This voice!
LOVE FUCKING THAT !!! VP for ever
Unfortunately they never had the recognition deserved.
Getting early Dreamscape vibes. You know the ones with Hubi Meisel.
I don't think he is in the scene any more : / Such a good voice to have quit.
VP and Dreamscape are two of the most underrated bands I've ever encountered lol. Personally, I preferred DS with Roland Stoll, as I didn't care for Hubi's whinier vocal style. However, both bands are just incredible and deserve recognition while bands like Dream Theater, BTBAM, etc. get all the recognition in prog. Don't get me wrong, DT, BTBAM and others are great, but VP and DS should be among them in my book.
@@jakobfel2 End of Silence is a pretty damn good album
@@jakobfel2 YES! I LOVE Roland's voice with Dreamscape and I listen to them all the time along with VP. I wish they were still around! Did Roland just disappear? I can't find anything about him and if he's doing any of his own projects.
@@RSJ69 They were just amazing with him! I mean, The End of Silence was definitely one of the greatest prog albums ever written. I heard that DS may still be doing stuff but it won't be the same. I'm just not a huge fan of the lyrical style they went to with the new stuff (a bunch of spiritual New Age stuff in comparison to the more life-based lyrics of EoS and The 5th Season), not to mention Roland WAS Dreamscape to me. That being said, I saw him respond to a comment on a video of them during his time with the band. He basically said that he had retired from music, which is sad. The only project that he was involved with -- that I know of, at least -- was the fantasy power metal band, Juvaliant, where he did some background vocals but man, we really need him on lead vocals again, even if he doesn't tour.
Imagine something like a progressive metal version of Avantasia where we get people like Roland, Jonny Tatum (Eumeria), Andy from VP, Devin Townsend, all playing parts on the album.. that'd be such a killer project, I just wish I had the money to pull it off haha
Stumbled upon VP just a couple weeks ago.. haven’t stopped listening... like a mix between DT and Kamelot. Where have they been all my life?
That's a great comparison, absolutely agree!
With a hint of Symphony X.
Oh my god... This is insane!!!
Great voice!
Finally, I already thought I could not wait for the official concert video from the band. Many thanks.
brilliant
Escuto essa banda desde 2010... Todos os álbuns são incríveis. Tocam Pra caraio! Andy canta muito, voz desse cara é raridade!
Great playing.
Best music ever! Love this guys!
German Villen
They're the best! Damn, I wish they'd come here to California
Pleeeease, come to Mexico!!!!
Essa banda manda muito bem 🤘🏼🎶🇧🇷
I began to follow the band back in 2006 I guess. I just miss two or three of their recent cds but I must say they never disappointed. Maybe they are note the most inventive band on earth, but they always deliver good stuff. Keep on Rockin' this way!
Sounds fantastic!!!
UK tour please :-D
One of my favorite progressive metal/rock bands along with Pain of Salvation, Ayreon, and Opeth. And Andy is definitely one of my favorite metal vocalists also
try Riverside all well, friend!
12 years following these guys.
love this band !!!
i like this presentation
Was at this show. Privilege to see these giants of the genre live. When you guys coming back to the states?
This guy is actually playing a TTM!
Estos son mejores que Dream Theater, para mi, hay pasajes q son más sentimiento y técnica, a veces Theater se queda frío... como messi
VD and DT are both great bands...
Love it! Vanden Plas Rocks!
Wow he sounds like Jeff Labar from Dream Theater
Some Music Producer lost money on this band... js
OMG just found this, AMAZING life-changing music 🔥🤘🤘the spark of light is alive again 🙏
Love the way they prowel the stage with such assurance.
Jesus, I love this song!!!
A band like no other. Period.
It sounds just like Dreamtheater
The drummer is not too bad, is he ?
Perfect!
Fuckin A!!!
Brazil
No one can ever say these guys can't pull off their shit live. These guys are studly.
magnífico 🎶👏👏👏❤
Possibly one of the most criminally underrated, underplayed, groups...at least in the US. 26K views in a year? Crappy pop artists get 100x that amount.
would not suprise me if Kamelot was asking him for vocals.
Calgary, Alberta, Canada CANADA TOUR please!!!!
And CZ. Republic.
Spain tour please
Stephan is an underrated guitarist, though his modern guitar tones have become way too unpolished and rough sounding. Not in a good way
I've always enjoyed his tone, but as a sole guitarist he's under pressure to fill a lot of spectrum whenever keys aren't prominent (and sadly bass is rarely prominent). He manages this with a loose tone and also deliberately loose playing at times (some muted strumming before the beat before playing long ringing chords, for example). My excuses aside, I do prefer his old JMP-1 rig, but for some reason despite being a Mesa guy I really enjoy all the '90s JMP tones so many players once used.
They tightened it up a bit on the 2nd Netherworld album and think they will do moreso on their upcoming if the latest clip is anything to go by...
@@WeAreStewart what's the latest clip????
bright superlight XVII.
