- I'm once again joined by Alexey from @AlexeysCarcassonneChannel!
Today we play some "Hand & Brain" Azul! It's a concept that originates from Chess. The brain (Alexey) will say a colour tile to take, but it's up to the hand (Sam) to decide where to take it from and where to place it! Surely we're both going to be on the same page... how hard can it be?

I’m trying to get better at this game. Sitting at just around 200 ELO on BGA. I know I’m getting better when some of the moves I thought would work would align with Alexey’s tile selections. I didn’t always get it right, but content like this really helps me learn the strategy more. It’s pretty cool to learn that columns or color bonus may not always be the best choice. Playing the hand your dealt and adapting is key. Thank you for this and your strategy guide video! (Also the Burgundy and IaWW videos - they help a ton.)
If you're finding the same moves as strong players then it's a very good sign you're improving! Glad the videos are useful, keep it up :)
What a fun video! Very interesting. Love it and I don’t even play a lot of Azul.
This was a great duo. I don't even love Azul but I felt the hand and brain situation was very condusive to good conversation. You 2 should become the "Tast-osis" for BGA tournaments when they are televised. (Tasteless and Artosis are legendary Starcraft commentators)

Omg this is just what I needed :). Since the settings for new season of IWW again suck, I switched to Azul a but more and it is such a deep and complicated game! Looking forward to watching this!
Yeah, very disappointing Arena format again! I think the votes for 4 player and 2 player format were actually tied in the end. Oh well!
Ah you have access to that data? I dont really know how the format is decided, but after grinding with 3 players and stressing whether every game will be determined by luck only to end up second in photo finish, I really dont feel like doing so again in a format that is just ao much less fun and kinda luck based to me than 1v1
@@chessentials4261 Yep, 3 and 4 player games are fun to play, but don't belong in a competitive mode IMO.
Basically the top 100 most active IAWW players become a "guru" of the game. Gurus can then suggest arena formats and vote them up or down. Gurus are constantly changing and most of them don't care enough to vote. My wife was a guru and said the vote was 10-10 each for 2p and 4p.
@@NoWondersTV Yeah when I first started playing Arena I thought it is fine. But then I discovered the magical world of 1v1 and realized it is soo much superior.
Tbh I am a bit surprised the top players didnt vote for 1v1. On the other hand, I spoke to the current Arena champion and he said he never tried it - and he seems to also do quite well in the new season.
Btw didnt know your wife is top 100 too, although one could sense she knows a thing or two from your streams and her sporadic comments. Would love to see her in the main stream role too :).

How is this1400elo? Its only 500/600
My rating at the time was ~600 while Alexey’s was ~800. Both of us playing together = 1400! Now we just need a third person to hit 2000 Elo 🤔
