  • Spring Field Work & Planting 2023 Recap Down on the Farm | Darke County Ohio
In this video I show and talk about how spring field work and planting all went down in Darke County Ohio. The video covers all of the field work from when we got started in mid April through all of the tillage, planting, spraying and side dressing of the corn & soybeans.
Although the spring was a bit on the cool side we had good conditions early for working up the ground and getting the crops planted. We had a few rain delays they got into a bit of a dry spell but as the season was coming to an end we did get a couple of nice rains and can only hope the timely rains continue throughout the summer for a bountiful harvest.

Just found your channel...I live just a few miles from one of the fields you were working in this video! I don't farm myself but I love the spring and fall time here in Darke county and getting to watch the fields by my house be worked. Too many people don't appreciate what you do so thank you sir for your hard work! I would love to see video of riding along in helicopter or plane spraying the fields like they do in this area a lot

This was a good, al around farming video. Did the farm you work for buy that Deutz.Did they get rid of that new Versatile they bought a couple years back? I imagine if the 8200 could pull that implement, that Deutz could do it even easier.

For crop rotation is it usually just soy to corn, or is there a 3rd or 4th crop planted I just haven’t seen any videos of? Great video! Nice to see some longer in cab film on occasion!

How much stalks do you think that MacFarlane could handle?

It did better than I thought. I ran it through a field of corn stalks and although I was carrying stalks its never plugged up and made a huge mess.
