(I still think he should hang up the pilot's license soon. There gets to be a point to where it's just dangerous for an elderly person to fly. Ford's 77 now. Scott Crossfield, the test pilot, killed himself in a plane accident in cloudy weather. He was in his 80s and flew into a bad storm which caused him to lose control. Even Chuck Yeager dialed down the machismo and doesn't fly anymore.)
Oh, we shouldn't mention Star Wars around Ford. He just seems to hate it.
I frankly think he doesn't understand "that sci-fi stuff" and didn't appreciate that he wasn't the main lead in Star Wars. He got that with Indiana Jones which was obviously a character he identified more with, too...
Once when I flew into Borispill Airport in Kiev, UA and a flight of Ukrainian MiG-29s were taking on the mirror runway at full afterburner. I must say, Eastern Bloc fighters are beautiful! The camo, the markings...just beautiful jets.

It is good plane if you modernize it and if you have parts to make reapairs of it properly, which PAF dont have posibilty to do since we are in NATO so we have to repleace them, but why with F 35? No one knows

@@jakubbarski468 poland is buying F-35A, it's the best bang for buck option right now, sure maintenance a bit expensive but just like any new jet it'll be only for a few years. most russian offerings right now are equally or more expensive to run in long term, learn from the Indians and Malaysians

It's always fun to fly stuff that you aren't familiar with, I love Russian birds due to their unique qualities and they do look straight up badass. It's a shame we don't have a clickable Mig-29 or Su-27

I took a faceful of RD-33 exhaust at an airshow last summer. Kinda felt like burning diesel and I'm pretty sure it spat soot. But it flew and no parts fell off, which is nice, because we have like ten of those. Well, nine, one crashed a few months ago due to a mechanical failure, as far as I know. Also, fun fact, the trainer version of MiG-29 doesn't have a radar.
My brother in law was in the Bulgarian air Force and flew Mig 21's and 29's. It'd be interesting to match him up with Mover. Strangely enough he prefered the 21's over the Mig 29's. They actually kept flying the Mig 21's up until 4-5 years ago.
Mig 21 for life. Twas my first module coming into DCS (yea, no Flaming Cliffs, not then, now, or ever). I usually spontaneously explode against gen 4 aircraft (wagnermobiles and USAs finest) but when I do get em....... boi. Splashed an F/A 18 thru maneuver kill few days ago.... what a day! Top module the Mig 21

@@CWLemoine You may have killed a friendly or two :) U don't need to VID, you have a working IFF cue on the HUD. The 29 is a bitch to fly without trimming and a good awareness of the auto pilot system, that's why you were fighting her the whole time. I was not being sarcastic, I really thought you guys were just having a laugh flying the Fulcrum for the first time!

I love the BVR mode on the 29, it uses the entire HUD. You just need to have the radar on (default "I") and map the target designator to something convenient. After you've locked on something, the three range markers will be along the the left side of the HUD and directly dependent on your weapon selection (default "D") :)
I think one of the things that keeps throwing you off with soviet jets is that there's only one trigger for either the 30mm or missiles, with another button to switch to gun mode (separate from the weapon select) :)

Kinda cool hearing you mention the Aurora as I am 95% sure I see that fly at a high altitude over my home town in the early hours of the morning couple of years or so ago. My hometown being Mildenhall in the UK, Once home to the beautiful SR 71, Really miss that plane.

In the beginning on the runway the voice says (Im not going to write it in cyrillic) "Adin, adin, null " in english is 110 and by the way markings on the plane is Ukrainian just for fun fact .
@C.W. Lemoine If you haven't done so already, consider taking the Mig-21 up for a spin. That module is a ton of fun to fly, plus clickable cockpit.
The Mig 29 flies completely different to its western counterparts. It is a stick and rudder plane. At high angles of attack the rudder is the main way to roll around. The rudder is not automatically coordinated like in f16 for example. Turning off the limiter allows some amazing AOA at low speeds, it works only at low speeds when you have full back deflection then the override gets you some more back movement. In the real you apply significant back pressure to override the limiter. The traditional doctrine was to fly those planes according to manual in not very high G situations (according to manuals the optimal was 15 to 16 degrees of alpha and 5.5 G at 0.85 M, and they are advised not to go below 300 km/h at the top part of the vertical maneuver), the pilots were told if they hear the voice warning that they were in violation. Only in the last 20 years the Bulgarians used some critical angles of attack in fights as experiment in mock dogfights with the US and NATO allies. According to Russian manual the high G situations at 0.85 M it was something like 7 to 9 G and15 to 26 alpha for fastest turn.

It's legit the same default controls as all of the FC3 aircraft... F15C, MiG 29, Su 27, Su 33, Su 25, A 10A... all the same. You DO have to manually rebind each aircraft though, which is annoying.
HUD works the same as Su, same with radar.
The FC3 aircraft are fun, hate the hold to release and the overly sensitive trim though.

The L39 isn´t Russian, it´s Czech and Czechia is in Central Europe, the L39 was developed during the Soviet times but the Czech Airforce retired them. Now Aero Vodochody is developing the super modern trainer L39NG. After the Soviet era (ended in 1989 with Velvet Revolution in Prague) Aero Vodochody developed the L-159 ALCA Light Ground Attack Airplane, the Czech Airforce still uses it and the L-159´s cockpit looks really similar to the F/A-18´s cockpit.

I alway hated that "500kg of fuel" in old days arcade sim by Novalogic - "MiG-29 Fulcrum". So i alwayse use the fuel tank in central pylon. By the way, in Novalogic's "F-16 Fighting Falcon" too. Always not enough time to kick ass every hostiles :D

The graphics nowadays are SPECTACULAR !!-!!! The cockpits impress me ! haven’t had THEE experience but it’s going on the bucket list 👍👍👍. 👽🛸
Note that this is one of the "low fidelity" aircraft. The "high fidelity" aircraft don't have that much more detail in graphics but you can directly interact with all the cockpit elements - flip the switches and push buttons to do things, not just HOTAS and keyboard.

You're flying a Mig-29 with Ukrainian markings. Their Mig-29s, Poland's, Germany's and Czech's weren't all built in Russia by the Mig Design Bureau, but I under license.

Even Mover a REAL fighter pilot says that the video game is so not close to the real thing. He's said that he's sure DCS players will prolly beat him. Why.....because its not even close to the Real thing.

I was watching the blue angels and thunderbird fly through New york(on RUclips). The blue angels have a center stick and the Thunderbirds have a side stick. I know that they are two different types of jets, but which do YOU prefer? Middle stick or side stick?
