Sarah Michelle Gellar was so distressed during the scene where Angel is telling Buffy the day is being taken back that David Boreanaz actually calls her Sarah. If you listen carefully you can actually hear it. kerk
The demon’s description in the book said it had regenerative properties, but nothing about turning vampires human. My theory after watching the episode was that the turning human thing would only work on ensouled vampires, with the blood able to restore life when a soul is present but not to restore souls, hence why the interaction isn’t common knowledge.
"He's not a lower being." High praise from The Powers That Be, whose whole attitude exudes I'm-a-god-and-you're-not (at the time my internet friends and I called them "the Noel Coward gods." 😎)

I always wonder why vampies don't just wear chain metal or an iron plate over their heart. Then i realized exactly how breakable i am, then i went down a rabbit hole googling chain mail and full body armor.

When Buffy cries, I cry. The overriding theme of Buffy is "how can we make Buffy suffer most. For Angel it's similar "how can we make Angel suffer most." Buffy's sadness here was intense, but brief. Angel will carry it to the end of his days.
It is better for Buffy that she doesn't remember. She can maybe move on. Angel has to go on with the memory. Any future interaction with Buffy will be skewed because he remembers that perfect time, what could have been, and she does not. And whatever progress Cordy and Doyle might have made that day is gone as well.
This was a real 'heartbreaker' of an episode. Great writing again, but the writers know how torture the viewers. Brilliant acting by both SMG and David Boreanaz at the end of the episode similar to BTVS SE E10 Amends at the end where Angel is trying to kill himself after being mentally tortured by The First Evil. This acting here is so intense he actually whispers and calls her Sarah, oh and keep those tissues handy for this show! We all thought this episode was heartbreaking, but then! Great reaction again, having seen both show many times I have to to say the very best episodes are Angel are just off the charts.
I think the blood mixing with Angel's only worked because he had a soul. A regular vampire turned back into human would still not have a soul and either won't be able to survive or will stay just as evil.
Joss' story idea, Marti's help and the showrunner himself, Greenwalt, co writing it. Also Joss, for sure, directed some scenes (he was barely on Angel's set but he was that time due to, probably, the crossover event and/or at SMG request).
Many want the Buffy and Angle relationship, so they gave it to them. They also showed that they can never be together because they can not protect the people put here to protect.
hahaha does something happen on Buffy or Angel just to move the plot forward..... hahahaha slightspoiler and blame.... not spoilers for plot, but they may not have been named yet.... the sad thing is, you are about to see why the ''PTB'' did this and because you asked the question it becomes your fault..... this is all on you, because it was all on me, when I asked the same question 20 years ago, while watching this.... there were things you said in your earlier reactions and they are all coming home to roost..... good luck dealing with the fact you asked for this, because we all did..... welcome to being ''one of us.... one of us...... one of us'' there is beauty in our shared pain...... thank you for working so hard on this one..... this one matters

She’s supposed to be able to sense vampires. For some reason I’ve only seen her sense Angel. And this time he’s not even a vampire and she knows he’s there. What’s up with that?
I've never really been bothered by this episode. I feel for them but i think it always came across as a bit cheesy. And Buffy/Angel can just be a bit melodramatic sometimes that I can't take it seriously. Plus, over time they just don't make sense to me. They will always put each other first which is also seen here where he literally takes her choice away to save her 'and others' life, and in their lives just doesnt work when they have to make the crucial decisions.
It's sad, while you watch it but the ending, takes alot away. . Like, did it even happen?. Felt awkward, and then also ignoring her relationship with Riley. I mean I get it, but this should have been, a 3 episode arch . The ninja turtle villain , . Girl please,. 😩. The ring of Amara, and now the green blood. 😅. He's just too good, he's boring.

I was always a HUGE Buffy/Angel shipper. This was one of (if not THE) most devastating television experiences of my life 😭
