I have had the privilege to listen to him, live, almost every year for 20 years. Every concert have been a life experience, a beauty delirium! For those who compare Hamelin, Argerich, Horowits etc. with Sokolov: the greatness of these pianists cannot be compared, it wuold be like comparing the stars among them. Sokolov, in his own poetic vision, is unique and the best by far, but, thanks God, there is not only one vision in music. Sokolov is impressive and, often, shocking...

Piano is not just extreme pleasure. Piano is the realization of immortality and the realization that everything is heaven. When you realize that, it's so good, it's infinitely good. It's not just good. It's good to the infinite degree. It's so much goodness that you can't contain it. your body can't hold it. Your entire body shakes and shudders in a cosmic orgasm of bliss. It's perfection. It's total peace. It's absolute love, that's truly piano.

His ability to endow each finger with its own dynamics allows him to turn the piano into a piano/orchestra. Obviously, he really is taking piano technique to a new level. I think Cziffra had that ability to for a time.

What piano tries to do is it tries to slap you awake by putting the beauty of infinite creation a little piece of it up on display for you on a pedestal so you can look at it and say oh yeah. Of course. Look there it is. It's so beautiful. It's so amazing and then that opens your eyes a little bit and you can say oh yeah look that thing's beautiful too and that's beautiful and that's beautiful and that person's beautiful and I'm beautiful. Oh my god it's all so beautiful and then that takes you to a whole new level as a human being and then you can delight in reality and you can enjoy everything as one giant work of art. Cosmic work of art.

How do you comunicate so much beauty? It's Incredible. I just look at it and it brings me to tears. Because I'm looking at it and I'm looking at myself. Yeah you've never really seen porn until you've seen it on the piano. Until you recognize that it's you and that's basically what Infinity is. Sort of like I love you, no I love you, no I love you, no I love you, no I love you more, I love you more, I love you more. Who can love who more? And whoever can love who more is God. You see that long laundry list of stuff about you that you don't love. God loves all of it. I'm sorry for not loving more, that's the only thing you have to be sorry about. Thank you. Thank You For Love! And at this point you realize that that's it, that's the point. That's the only lesson in life. That's my only job. Is to love. Everything else is idiocy and then what you do is you say I love you. For the first time in your life you say I love you because you really understand what that phrase means and you fall in love with God. But as it throws it out there, it's gentle so he throws it out there but then you say oh I can't love it and then what God will say in return is, it's okay. I love that you are not capable of love. I love that. And when that hits you. That's what fills you with enough love to overcome your resistance to love even that next level thing that you could do. No it can't be love. Of course it's love! what else could it be! It's love! No oh my God this is impossible! Of course it's love how could it be anything else!? How could I be so stupid as to think it's anything else. And God is like of course it's love.

If piano is connection, what would be the highest piano? What could be more deeply interconnected than ONE? How does reality achieve connection on a metaphysical level? By the elimination of all difference between things. As long as things are different, that difference disconnects them from each other by definition. Why do we say that a kangaroo is not a terrorist? Because a kangaroo is different than a terrorist. So, a kangaroo is disconnected from a terrorist to the degree that it is not identical to a terrorist. But as consciousness realizes that it imagines all difference, the differences which disconnect all things reconnect into a unity, like drops of water merging into a puddle. Eventually the difference between self and other reconnects as well. When this happens, you realize there is no difference between you and any other being. When this happens, you become self-less. Or, in other words, your sense of self extends to all things, becoming infinite.

Playing piano is like jumping out of an airplane without a parachute.
So the bad news is that you don't have parachute, but the good news is that you discover there is no ground. And then you're just endlessly falling and you never reach the ground.
So in a sense, what i'm asking you to do is to jump. And you don't want to jump. You're saying, I'm scared. I'm too scared to jump. And I'm saying, jump. God is telling you, jump, jump into infinite love and it's going to be great. But you're like, what if I kill myself and what if something else happens? I don't know. You just jump into infinite love. Take the leap of faith and you'll discover infinite love. And you're too scared to do it. But then eventually when you do it, then you're just going to discover that there's no ground. You're endlessly falling forever and it's great. But yeah, taking that leap is really difficult. It requires you to face your death. So of course, everybody is too afraid to do it. People are just to scared.

Although Sokolov is an absolute amazing treasure of humanity, and a clear reflexion of God’s
existence, there are other wonderful pianists around, but those that criticize him as being too technical or not musical, are
    jealous people who don’t
even have a fraction of Sokolov’s musical talent, and they are just unappreciative parasites with a destructive and toxic attitude!

These days there are dozens of wonderfully talented and technically amazing pianists, however they often sound very similar. Not this man he's apart of the great tradition of the pianists of the past with technique of course but even more then that, individuality.

Surely Gorigory Sokolov is phenomenal with a style like no other. When I heard his performance of Brahms 2nd piano, it readily became the standard by which all other pianists are measured. However, God gave this gift to him so he can reflect God's glory. These talents are not for self-aggrandizment but to magnify the name of the most high God - the Alpha and Omega.
