Originally I was having issues with a id check error. The problem ended up being , after extracting, instead of only drag and dropping the bios update itself, I moved everything it extracted. Did like you did and just moved the 1 file itself and it worked like a charm. Thanks dude!
@@TechRated I'm determining that. LOL Originally, I thought I'd just buy one, but the pre-built PCs seem so subpar for the cost of what you actually get. Then I thought perhaps a system integrator. However, I still felt all boxed in. I then started thinking about maybe building a PC myself. After all, I heard it's like Legos. :) I suppose that maybe true had I ever played with Legos. All kidding around aside, for me, I need to learn as much as I can about the process. I like the concept of PC Parts Picker it is a great site, but I still feel unsure about the actual compatibility of all the components chosen together as a whole. If that makes any sense? Along with the end process involved as well. Anyhow.... I'm considering the 12th gen Intel CPU i7-12700k and a Z690 MB using DDR4. At this time, I haven't determined which one. Originally, I thought the Gigabyte Aero G DDR4, but now I am looking at the ASUS ROG STRIX Z690 DDR4 A because after reviewing the owner's manuals. The ASUS went into much greater details, and it had much better reviews in comparison. I'm still unsure about a lot of things to say the least, but I'm super determined to learn!
Sounds like you have a great start on the info you have gathered. I definitely think you should build. Like you said, you will get much more value going that route. The 12 series Intel CPUs are strong. That’s a good choice, especially if you want to go DDR4. I have always liked and used ASUS boards. I have used them for every build I’ve ever completed, except for this ONE. Lol. So far though, I’m impressed with this Aorus board. Whatever you do, good luck with it. I’ll try my best to help if I can!
Ok, silly question... If the MB is say like on its first version, and at the top of the list it's like four versions later, can I just got straight for version 4, or do it like one at a time?
It’s definitely not a silly question and I should’ve mentioned it in the video, but you just have to download/use the latest version. If that version requires a previous BIOS, it will mention it in the download link. Good luck with your build!
@@TechRated not completely true, read over all the notes on previous versions to make sure. Sometimes it will say something like "1. If you are using Q-Flash Utility to update BIOS, make sure you have updated BIOS to x before y"
i have the x570 arous master it is still on the f3 bios every time i try to update it it tells me invalid bios pic oh its also rev 0,0 ive tried to find its rev but i can only find 1,0 .1.2 rev
To do this is the Ram & CPU need to be installed on the motherboard ? Right now my motherboard is not in the case & The motherboard don't have a designated Bios usb port on the back panel , I'm trying to update to a LGA 1151 i9-9900k 9th gen But I believe the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master Motherboard still at factory settings for the LGA 1151 8th gen CPU , I like to do what ever work I can before installing the motherboard into the case .
I have the b550i board and the bios version is “FB” according to the bios app in the app center. I followed ur steps but when selecting the bios file i get “Invalid BIOS image” error. I did download the latest bios :(
Many people talk about updating the BIOS. My motherboard came Rev 1.2. Why should I update the BIOS? And what version of BIOS do you recommend? Should it always be the last one available? My processor is the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8 core 16 thread unlocked desktop processor. Should I update it for that? Thank you
Thanks for the video. I did exactly this with a brand new Aorus Elite AX (7800X3d), new build. When entering the bios, everything in the bios screens was super laggy, including my mouse cursor. 1-2 second delays for everything. I started the bios update exactly as you noted (updating from bios version F5). I chose the bios file, hit the arrow, it asked if I wanted to start the bios update, clicked yes, and then it started the "Verifying File" part shown on your video. On your video, it took a few seconds for that part before the next step of actually updating the bios. On mine -- It's been 4 hours and it is at 68% on "verifying file". Help! What do I do? It seems stuck here.
after the update f5 on gigabyte aorus master z790 I ran into a bios problem. Dr debug gives me error code 4f. What would that mean and how can you figure it out? I tried resetting the bios, but it didn't solve the problem. Please help
great video that's how i thought it will work but it doesn't, every time I want to update it says: this BIOS is protected by secure flash do you still want to update ? when I press yes it looks like it does update and reboots but then its still on the older version any idea
According to what I found online, you want to make sure that your XMP profile is disabled before trying to update the BIOS. This should take care of it. Sorry for the late response.
@@TechRated i tryed that didnt work, but than i bought a new mounting braked for my cpu to have better contact whit the socket wich ended up in me reseating the cpu that fixed it i guess idk how idk why
What's so scary about this? If I've already downloaded the BIOS into a flash drive why do you need a stable internet connection? If internet drops while doing this why is that a problem?
After hours of attempting to fix issues regarding my CPU performance, I decided to update my BIOS. After finding this video and following the exact instructions, my $6,000 PC won’t boot anymore. I made sure to download the newest BIOS version for my exact motherboard, any ideas as to what may have caused this?
Hello 👋 I had the same issue, but spammed F12 to get into the bios menu on startup. After getting into the bios and enabling the settings I wanted like memory profile, and my OC settings, I reset and it runs okay. Not updating your Bios will leave you vulnerable to major security issues sometimes, and it's something you should regularly do, even if it can be frustrating. I realize you made this comment 7 months ago, but hope you found a solution.
Great video I was nervous at first and thought I messed something up, after the BIOS updated and rebooted itself, the PC rebooted itself like 4 times before Windows started up again. I guess thats normal?
I have the ax370 gaming 5 mobo. Should I update the bios to the latest version or do i need to update it in an order because when i look on the website for my mobo it says to update to F32 before F40
Double check to make sure you have the BIOS file on the flash drive. Then, check the file system of the flash drive. What is it? This works best across all motherboards if your flash drive has a FAT32 file system.
Glad you got it done anyway! I usually go with the flash drive when updating the BIOS because I do not believe all boards support pulling the files from a HDD or SSD. Either way, nice job! 👊🏼
thank you! The bios update guide by GIGABYTE is totally screwed. Their technical support is the worst. They don't understand the issue and they cannot explain the solution.

Hello, I receive BIOS ID CHECK ERROR when updating, what should I do?
Can i update F6 to F29 version on my Z690 aorus pro motherboard directly? Or i have to update to a lower version first ? Thanks..
What format needs to be used on the flash drive ? NTFS, FAT 32 ?
Bit late but FAT32
Question. I did the update but now my ssd is not showing up. Do I have to update the drivers?
Why you don't use bios update utility for windows?
To be clear updating the bios wipes your boot drive??
