    As someone who plays with a .4 Atmos system, I never cared to try the personalized profile for headphones, but I just tried it, and I find it, possibly, really easy to mess up because the audio isn't as spherical/enveloping as the image makes it seem. The audio that plays when it's going from left to right, for example, sounds like it goes from middle left, slightly down center, then back up to the middle right, and not diagonal as the picture represents.
    The only thing it does OK is when the sound is slightly off from left or right, typically the area slightly behind or slightly below, but not in front, not much above, and not very low. When I tested it in the game, it sounded like everything was sitting just below ear level. I wish the test sounds could keep being played, but they can only be played twice. Seems like a lot of work for the possibility of worse 3D audio from the base choice. I'm not a fan, although I like the idea and appreciate the detail given even if I don't find that it works.

      @@mrchiledonut Hello 👋 thank you for sharing your experience. I always prefer „real“ surround sound too and game with my Dolby Atmos AV receiver on a daily basis. But for gamers who don’t have the opportunity for a multi speaker setup or want privacy, 3D headphone sound is a good alternative. 3D simulated sound works different for each person. Ever ear is different. I think the personalized audio works better but perfection to me will always be real speakers in a room 😎

    Very well done video, sir. I just did the personalized 3D audio with the new update and def thought it sounded better. And I was worried I wasn’t being accurately precise on some so it was good to see you point out that you don’t need to be 100% accurate! :)

      Hello kinghoff316! Thank you so much and for sharing your experience. It definitely can look intimidating at first to guess the directions correctly but the algorithm is smart that it takes all the inputs together that you make and creates a really good profile out of it, even when you are not 100% all the time. This actually makes me want to use headphones while playing games again 🙂

    You must have damn good headphones in order to hear 3D audio, because I have a pair of Steelseries Arctis Prime and everything just sounds stereo lol

      Hey Ecko, I am sorry you are not hearing the 3D sound. I am using an older Bose headset which works pretty well on my PS5 since it's an over the ear headphones. The bigger the headphones the more 3 dimensional the sound is for my ears. In-ear headphones work but the sound is not as exciting. How well 3D audio works also depends heavily on each game. If you have Astro Bot you should give that a try. I can literally pinpoint where the Astro bots are yelling for help 🙂

      @@SamDansCouch Oh wow, that’s pretty impressive! I just keep finding myself doing the 3D audio test but everything just sounds like it’s going left to right, no certain direction or anything. :(

      @SamDansCouch  Месяц назад

      @@EckoTheFox1 No worries, just go through the test and chose the direction with your best guess. Don't stress yourself. The result is really audible after your personal profile was created and then try it in a game. 🙂

    I’m paranoid of the 3d audio becoming less realistic in games with this because I can’t tell where it’s coming from in the measurements like I can in the game😂. It’s like 3d audio isn’t on when you’re calibrating

    • @SamDansCouch
      @SamDansCouch  28 дней назад

      @@RickDalton_ Hi Rick 👋 I totally understand. I feel like the 3D audio sounds more 3D too outside of the measurement tool. It works though and it’s nice to have. Personally I’d still go with speaker surround sound setup but not everyone has the space for it 🤷‍♂️

    so you can feel the height channels and even sounds from behind you? I just wish that xSony introduced a test audio at the end to pit point all directions. In general headphones also probably better than earbuds for 3D effects.

    • @SamDansCouch
      @SamDansCouch  3 месяца назад

      The 3D sound definitely got more convincing after the personal profile calibration. Like the Avatar helicopters really did sound like they are flying over my head. Behind sound is pretty good too. I agree that a final test would have been really good to be able to check your own profile efficiency yourself. Going to a game and find a fitting scene can be time consuming. For bigger sound I’d go for an over the ear headphones for better bass and some more clarity. 👍

    Thank you for the video. Quick question: how do you use your Bose headphones to get 3D audio? Connected via the 3.5mm jack you get good 3D audio? I have earbuds and considering a Pulse Elite or other headphones like Sonos Ace (my AVR system is Sonos)

    • @SamDansCouch
      @SamDansCouch  3 месяца назад +1

      Hey, no problem 👍 Thank you for the inspiration! Yes I just used the good old 3.5mm jack without a problem. The PS5 automatically turns the sound off of your receiver/tv. The good thing really is that you can use any kind of headphones. 😎

    It's strange, I have a pair of Beyerdynamic Custom Studio. I plug em into the controller with a 3.5mm jak cable and what I get is just regular stereo sound. I wonder if the problem may be not connecting the headphones with an amp (impedance is 80ohm). Anyway, I can't hear the wonders of Tempest Audio 😭.

    How do you connect earphones to ps5? I tried via bluetooth connecting my Airpods pro and ps5 gives an error saying that it doesn’t support these.

    • @SamDansCouch
      @SamDansCouch  Месяц назад

      Hello 😊 I love the AirPods too but wireless 3D audio is not supported for all earphones. For 3D audio to work with any headphones you have to go the old school way: 3,5 mm wired plug that goes directly into your dualsense controller. If you have wired headphones laying around you should give it a shot 👍

      You need to get a USB blutooth adapter I recommend the avantree dg80. It connects to the back of the ps5 in one of the USB inputs then press the button on the adapter and wait for ur airpods to connect to the adapter if it doesn't connect then open up the case press the connect button on airpods and see if it works then.
      And remember u must select the Bluetooth adapter input on the ps5 audio settings in order for u to hear the sound from the adapter hopefully u see this massage and use my advice 🙏.

      @reelFUTURE 28 дней назад +1

      If you want the best quality, get either a USB-A or a USB-C 3.5mm dongle. That way you can connect directly to the console with your headphones for the best sound quality possible, also known as lossless. I think you can get lossless with the Playstation wireless earbuds as well but only a specific kind. Otherwise this is the cheapest option to get the best sound quality with wired connection. Plugging to dual sense is a drastic sound quality reduction.

    I have no idea why this is so hard and you don’t explain it either: when you have the “disc” model and you have to select a direction, the fact it spins in 360 degrees… does that mean you’re hearing for how hard apart the left to right movement is, or if it’s coming from top left to bottom right, or vice versa? Seems really unintuitive. If it’s just listening for separation, then why not just have a width selector?

    • @SamDansCouch
      @SamDansCouch  22 дня назад

      @@samthomas7740 it’s from left to right and so on, no spinning sound. It really is something not to lose your mind about it. Just listen and select the next best guess. The algorithm will take all your guesses into account and make the settings. The result, even if you are not correct all the time, is better than the old settings.

    it sounds to me like the sound are just bouncing all over the place. the large swooshes dont just go L to R they go up, down, and zig zag... the ones with more than 1 beep will beep from one side and then the other.. (or from the floor to up in the air) how am i supposed to choose from that?
    I would literally have to point dots and draw lines, just choosing a single option isnt gonna cut it.

      Hello 👋 it is interesting and a fact that everyone’s perception of 3D sound is a little different. That’s why making a personal profile does help. I personally didnt really hear a ring zwosh around my head either. So I just chose the direction each sound started and ended. It’s nothing to get too detailed and worried about. Take your best guess and the resulting profile will sound good 👍 😊
