- Silco and Jinx both suffer from trauma (Silco with Vander betraying him, and Jinx with being the cause why her family is dead, and then being abandoned by Vi) and have an extreme fear of abandonment. Also jinx suffers from attachment issues derived from her trauma (you can see it just in this episode, where she repeatedly looks to be in contact with Silco and tries to be as close as possible to him). All these factors contributed to create an extremely close bond which, to an observer, seems like too much or borderline creepy
-About Jinx "being a baby" we can assume (that's just my theory, though) that her past trauma stunted her mental growth to when she was a child, as is evident from her childlike behaviour throught all the episode
Kid, everyone suffers from some trauma but if one choose to kill people, becoming a criminal and terrorist then cannot be used as an excuse: they both choose to be monsters disrespectful of innocents lives.
@@darthcygnus7692 i simply answered her questions, so i don't really know where you're coming from with this in a comment section about a work of fiction.
i must however compliment you on how you managed to come out as an incredibly unpleasant person, good work on that
Alll in all you can go somwhere else with that attitude, champ
@@darthcygnus7692 They became "monsters" because of the live circumstances the upper city has created for all of them after the failed uprising. Silco is preparing a war because he simply doesn't see any other way of getting independence and some semblance of worthy life conditions for the people of Zaun, this has nothing to do with trauma or any kind of mental illness in general. Jinx helps him because (at least this is what she thinks) being "useful" and "strong" guarantees her that he won't abandon her like Vi did back then.
Also human lifes simply don't matter that much in Zaun, everyone there has been taught that the hard way throughout several decates at this point.
Another reason why she is emotionally stunted might be the fact that she had no relationships with any other human being aside form Silco in the last seven (or so) years. He pretty much isolated her from other people and made her paranoid with his lies and twisted world view - "everyone else betrays us, Jinx."
@@darthcygnus7692 I mean, if you were her in her position you'd do the same thing. Not for fictional characters obviously but it's not like powder could have done anything else. What was she going to do? Run off on her own?
Girl, that Jinx shot, looked exactly like Vi in act 1, which is not possible, since many years have passed. Jinx was just hallucinating.
Jayce and Cait have siblings relationship. Jayce is much older than Cait (around 8-10 years older) and he knew her since she was a child, so them being together is kinda creepy.
The little cute fluffy thing is called poro. They are basically mascots of League of Legends.
Also, timeskip is around 6-7 years, so Powder/Jinx is now 17-18 (but she is still mentally a child because of her trauma), Jayce is 30-31, Cait and Vi are around 21-22.
My favorite detail from this episode:
The elderly Council member that Mel gave the children's toy to in episode 2 is *still* working on it ~9 years later. he has it in his hands during the scene where Jayce becomes a councilor.
I subscribe to 7 years. That would make Heimerdinger 314 years old (or 100 π), and Jayce 31 (or 10 π).
It could be a coincidence but - considering it's Arcane - doubt.
@@TheRawrnstuff yeah, according to the writers, it was 6 or 7 years. Not sure why I remembered it as 9.
You are following along just fine. They made Jinxs' first look at that girl look like (young) Vi so that you could see what Jinx saw, then see Jinx be triggered by it. The next time they show the girls face it only looks a little bit like Vi. Plus, Jinx is pretty short and the girl is about a foot shorter than Jinx is.
Doesnt help she pauses it at that exact moment they super-impose Vi's face over the other girls face lolol.
She didn't follow "just fine". First of all, killing off Vi, so early in the show, in such an unceremonious fashion, would have been an aberration (then again, she believed that Powder was dead in episode 3, so...). Secondly, I can't believe so many people don't catch that, YES, the haircut of the pink-haired girl literally changes. ^^;
@@SCharlesDennicon Yet, so many people don't catch it... so believe it, I guess. I mean the show makers are purposely trying to make the girl look enough like Vi so that it's believable enough that Jinx (her own sister) can make the mistake. Why isn't it believable that a first time watcher wouldn't make the same mistake?
@@babette5918 Because Jinder is a psycho and the first time watcher isn't...? :D
@@lockekappa500 She does that a lot in this video, pausing during crucial dialogue and then forgetting the context of what was said before she hits play again.
"she's like a terrifying uwu girl"...that killed me, thank you for the great commentary!
Great reaction!! And thank you soooo much for pausing whenever you're coming with longer commentary, it's so infuriating watching other people talking over the important stuff and feeling they didn't pay attention. Can't wait for the next Arcane reactions:D (Happy birthday?^^ Ref. the helium balloon behind you.)
Jinx and Silcos relationship also threw me off, but I came to the conclusion that they have a daughter / father relationship. Considering Jinx trauma and mental state as other commenter commentated on she has some attachment issues, so she clings more to Silco than what would be "normal".
thank you!! makes sense!!
You mentioned that Jayce was getting all the attention while Victor was kept in the shadows, but you have to realize, only one of them is considered a child of Piltover. Victor is from the undercity, and if it's a choice to raise up Jayce or someone from the undercity, they'll choose Jayce every time. Also, yea. A lot of people are creeped out by how close Jinx and Silco get, while a lot of others just consider it a case of not worrying about space because it's her dad. I think they made it borderline like that on purpose, but that just makes it another example of how good the people that made this show are at pushing things right to the very edge again and again without really going over.
Half of it is also Viktor's insecurity about his childhood ailments and how he's perceived. I think that's why he doesnt want to be seen as a representative of Hextech.
@@lockekappa500 yeah people didn't realize he doesn't WANT to be the center
“She’s insane” - foreshadowing
I think the interesting thing is that Viktor doesn't seem to necessarily want the attention? Maybe a bit more aknowledgement than he's getting, but on the whole he's a lot more focused on the practical results of the research regardless of whether his name is attached - It would be so easy to make the conflict between him and Jayce one of clashing egos, but ultimately it's being set up as something more interesting than that, with Jayce now having a political responsibility to prevent Hextech from falling into "the wrong hands" (and outside of obvious cases like Jinx, who are the wrong hands? And who really has the right to decide that?) while Viktor is still focused on trying to find positive applications for it that could improve lives, topside and bottom alike.
Also, I definitely get where you're coming from with the Jayce and Caitlyn stuff, but personally, I see their dynamic a lot more as being childhood friends and unofficial siblings.
Yeah, the fact that Viktor didn't want to go on stage even after Jayce asked him to tells me that he's perfectly fine not being in the spotlight.
dam, i really love how you figured staff up, love your brain
11:26 Remember in episode 1, Vi said to Vander: "You're the one always telling us, that we have to earn our place in this world."
Assuming he said the same thing to Powder, or even if she just overheard him say it, that's likely where she got the mentality, that her worth is directly tied to how useful she is.
YES omg. kinda sad tbh
A little bit of a commentary on today's culture too.. "you're not worth anything unless youre making money" , hustle mentality etc.
I think in general this is an inferiority complex that ALL undercity members feel to some extent.
well it wasn’t just Vander, she also had people like Mylo constantly putting her down for not being able to keep up with them. he literally referred to Vi as “twice the person at half her age.” Not to mention Vi confirmed her fears that she was just a jinx: aka, worse than useless
They packed a lot in to this episode to re-establish the world and characters after the time jump. It's a bit of a trial by fire for reactors but you've done well here.
definitely a lot of stuff in this one!!! thank you :D
Approximately was 7 years gap from the episode 3.
the little white fluffball with heimerdinger is called a poro. This poro is called "porofessor", hes a professor
As I said before, you have to pay attention to the details of this show or you will miss things. You can see that the pink haired girl only looked like VI at the very beginning she sees her, but during the time she is frozen, holder her arm, you can see the girl is not VI.
i realized that when editing! its nearly impossible to not miss every single thing that happens especially when a camera is on. im trying my best tho! :)
@@michelletanina You're doing great, Chuck!
You're doing great as far as the reaction goes. Personally I like getting your take on scenes that you deem interesting - that's why I'm watching a reaction after all. I also very much appreciate that you put the show on pause when you do because - true or not - whenever people talk over a dialogue or scene, I get the impression that they're not giving the show the attention that it deserves and miss important parts (which is easy because pretty much every second of the show is scripted very deliberate).
Keep it up. 🙂
thank you!!
My take on the violence situation is that it would've happened whether Vander is still here or not. Vander's position was put everything on hold; keep the status quo. That approach feels stagnant and it's why people left his gang and joined Silco in an earlier episode - they didn't feel like there was any change (for the better future) with him in charge. The tension between the two locations would continue to grow and violence would eventually result. That's my interpretation. Enjoyed your reaction, look forward to the rest of the season!
The pink haired girl in the beginning wasn‘t Vi. Her resemblance led Jinx to thinking it was Vi, but if you watch closely the second time the girl comes into frame you will see it‘s not her.
Stanwick Pididly is a cruel reflection of what Powder could have been if given the same opportunities.
In case you still not know, Hextech is the fusion of Hex(Magic/Arcane) and Tech(Technology)
can't wait to see your futures reactions for Arcane !
thank you so much!!
people usually aren't as pro Jayce as you are, honestly its refreshing to see someone not instantly hate him for one reason or another.
HE'S FOR THE PEOPLE
You should definitely watch the Making of Arcane series when you're done because they explain they did a special face rig for Jinx so she can switch from innocent Powder to Jinx
Edit: I also love how we see that Jinx just sees Silco as a dad. Even when he's fuming after her latest stunt, she knows he won't do anything to her. She even giggles and lays her head on her desk and the only thing he does is redirect her attention by taking the thing she's currently focused on. He didn't want her to put a target that large on her back because he can't necessarily protect her from it
I love how you put obvious things together, makes me feel really smart. Thank you.
Its okay to get excited about the obvious things!

LMAO
welcome backkkkkkkkk >/////
You Look like Fade's Voice Actor hahahah Celin Cuharadoglu😂😂
Uuu lets go act 2 !!
I really like Jinx/Powder and I think her outfit makes her really sexy amd I really like Vi too
Powder is a child
JINX WUZ HERE 😈
Pls the next episode 🥺😢
New sub, enjoyed your reactions on 3 & 4, you are going to love 5 :D
thank you so much!!! episode 5 will be out in about 12 hours :)
Don't worry, nearly every reactor gets confused about the girl that Jinx shoots. I almost missed it on my first watch. They could have done a little more to hammer home that it wasn't Vi. Like, have the firelight leader call her name as she gets shot or something, or have her say "who the hell is Vi?", or make her look more different and hold on her face for longer. It's the one small problem in an otherwise nearly flawless show. It's literally the only gripe I have with the whole first season.
I mean, when it first shows her, there's other screen distortions.
When it cuts back, her face is different, and she shakes her head with a confused expression in response to Jinx's "Vi?"
When she gets shot, it focuses more on the reaction of the Firelight leader (whom we don't even know the identity of at this point) instead of on the girl, when they would focus very clearly on Vi if it were her.
Then, multiple times throughout the episode, it says that the girl wasn't her.
it's not a problem, I think they wanted people to be confused on purpose
Terrifying UwU girl is what I will Jinx from now on IDGAF
Yeh.. Silco and Jinx,.. they're too close.
Also, I love how you paused at Jinx's first reveal; thought it was just me LoL
THANK YOU for pausing and not talking over the show :)
And judging by the baloon in the background, happy birthday?
haha yes it was my birthday!! thank you :)
@@michelletanina Belated Happy Birthday! I had mine today. 🎂🍧🍾🎉🎉🎉
Jayce knew Caitlyn since she was a child. Why do so many reactors leap right to them being a couple when she's grown up? That's gross. He's like her older brother basically.
Okey you proof like the series because past the episode 3 and the episode 4 wake up you interesting.
Im already see the show and not make spoil nothingh, good travel to the end of this temp
And who you choose
Team Vi or team Jinx 🥰
lol
'Are they gonna be a thing?' Um, no... I mean, he's nine years older and.... not really her type...!
They will both fall in love with other people though...
i didnt know the age difference O.o
@@michelletanina In episode 2 he says he's 24, and Cait's about 14-15. They like each other, but as friends.
yeah I think the creators mentioned they made the scenes between jinx and silco uncomfortable on purpose
this is to test how we are little sensitive and anxious, she usually injects the shimer in his eye, for that it has to be more horizontal and needs you to get closer to inject properly, after all it's in the eye, the hug at the end of the episode is on the face in the chest, typical of affection, right after he yells at her and she behaves like a teenager
