- This show was the day after Hurricane Dorian. Beautiful HOT day in the park. In fact, Jay Beckenstein got sick from the heat and sat out the last two songs of the night. Still love him!!!! This vid is the first 48 minutes of the show. My battery got low so the second part of the show will also be posted. a few tunes are featured from the new Vinyl Tap record coming out October 2019.
Excelente grupo! Desde los 70's lo escuché y desde entonces soy su fan. Suenan muy bien. Es parte de mis inicios en la cultura musical del jazz contemporáneo. Bravo!
Es Jazz? Es arte!!!
I was there for this show, I love these guys, I have seen them many, many times. I am originally from Buffalo NY where they started back in the 70's....oh and thanks for sharing !!!!
I’ve been a fan for over 40 years and seen the band many times but missed this show due to work. Had to go to the coast to work storm trouble due to the hurricane. Hope you guys come back to North Carolina soon. Keep up the great work and I hope to see y’all again soon.
Thanks a lot for sharing !!! :)
OMG how did i miss this???
Hey Joe..... that song is What a Fool Believes by the Doobies!!! Spyro makes it their own with that smooth powerful arrangement.
thanks
Thanks for the upload!
Thanks!
The sound quality for the recording is good
Thanks brother..... i have a mic that attaches to top of the recorder.... its a good one!
Su música me inspira . You music is cool
Why did they don´t uses more musicians, as in the past?
Hi Antonio. In live performances, the music doesn’t need more. Dave Samuels was the longest time extra member on mallet instruments, but left the band in early 1990s. Before his death 2 years ago, he occasionally joined the boys for recording sessions. Brass instruments have also joined some recordings and even some vocalists.
what is the name of the tune starting at 7:10?
14:55
What a Fool Believes by the Doobie Brothers. Its on the new Spyro Gyra Vinyl Tap CD recently released covering a collection of the band's favorite tunes from the vinyl era. Yes..... is a collection of covers but......... WOW they take these tunes and give them new life.
