A great way to use water is to have Mage Hand cast right before combat. You can then drop water jugs onto the ground as a non-Action and have the Mage Hand throw the jugs at the targets to get the area wet. So a reason to take Mage Hand as a Cantrip.
for heavy armor only i would go with cleric instead of fighter to add create water since you are going for an ice build. This way you also get a full caster, some heling, sanctuary andso on if you are worried for the proficiency in constitution ST you should be able to go sourcerer 1 then cleric 1 and still get HA proficiency
The issue is that you lose out of fighting style. Realisticly you should also not build around being alone for most players - so out sourcing the water application to a companion is a great way to solve it as well. But then at the same time if you feel the fighting styles are kinda meh, then cleric is a nice alternative which will also add an extra spell slot which can be useful
@@pepparmostheelder well going solo wasn't really the reson i suggested it xD the build use ice so it's natural to want a source of wet for the build, otherwise is not really complete and since you can do it without a swet, why not? Besides, going solo offers a lot of issues in this game, provided that you want to do it all. It's doable but quite frankly from difficult to extremly boring ... well at least for me who like using different classes and roles on everyone . I also like a character to be able to take his enemy alone and help others ... A puddle of water is a great thing for other casters too ... lightning for example and maybe your lightning sourcerer is not able to produce water ... this build can without any effort, so ... why not? but well this is me trying to squeese everythyng i can to be comfortable with every party member. + it's always good to have multiple team members able to do the same thing (create whater) + others unique (cold or lightning damage) ... you know, spells slot run out fast if you start going heavy on them ;)
another thing that can be done is go on 1 spellscast ability only ... intelligence AND charisma is not optimal ... choose which one is good for you and dump the other for a better stat elsewhere. For example you want to be party face becaiuse it's your main character? go heavy on charisma and drop intelligence, even a little to get benefits elsehere (maybe in constitution or str for carry capacity and a little more jump distance, more initiative since HA don't allow dex bonus for AC ecc) that means the sourcerer gets the spells for control and damage that require ST or the other way around. Having 2 casting stats is not even near optimal. Well this is still me trying to get the most out of any of my characters :P Aaaaand you talked about this so ... well ok then ;) PS: What i would like to pick as wizard here is all ritual spells, jump, longstrider and faether fall. they are great for esxploration and also in combat, must have for me. then shield is really great and a must have for any build who can use it, fog cloud to help my thief ... well to rob ppl ( :P ) and also in combat is a great option to protect the party if positioned well and whatever (mostly utilities and since you are going for aburation i'd focus on those spells, well at least what i did with my aburation wizard 1 sourcer 1 war cleric 10 wizard)
On this day we give thanks for what we’re thankful for. I want to express my appreciation and gratitude to you Spartacus. Thanks to you I have received awesome content, knowledge to make me a better BG3 player and videos I can share with my wife and talk about as we discuss builds and play throughs like our “evil” play through with your necromancy and pallock builds. I could go on but you get the point. Thank you sir and Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
12:35 Dont bother picking mage armor. If you are a draconic blood line you get the passive Draconic Resilience for free. Basically if your not wearing armor you will get permante mage armor via the sub class and they dont stack at all, Not a huge deal, just an fyi.
I personally prefer a war domain clerik/tempest domain instead of fighter. Yes I lose on a fighting stiel but my spellslot progression is faster, I get more cantrips and spells. And war domain/tempest domain gives me heavy armor even if I take the clerik level later.
If you don't want to spec into fighter and are fine with playing a spell caster till Act III, you can pick up the heavy armor which says you are considered proficient with heavy armor while wearing it, then respec into strength OR pick up the gloves that pump your strength to 23.
A quick tip for anyone wanting to use items that restore one of you slots: You can put them in the hotbar and put your (in this case) cantrip augmenting amulet there as well, just click on the restore spell slot item outside a fight, restore your slot, then click on your other one, and there you go. It's just a quality of life improvement, but if you do it 50 times, it really adds up (I do the same with my shovel for easy access).
Same goes of course for other items. I have the gloves that give you telekinesis in my hotbar, in case I need them, either outside of battle or even in battle (in a pinch, it costs you an action to switch your gloves after all).
So, i found out yesterday that the A1 ice staff comes with ray of frost on it. There is text right below the cantrip explanation saying (this ignores resistances). the juicy part is, it only ignores resistance when you use the cantrip provided by the staff. I tested it for a while today on hook horrors
I don't even play the game myself anymore. Got bored with it. lol.. But I still like the videos online from guys like you. You guys go in depth into this game. Maybe it'll peek my interest in the game again

Nice to see a really cool (No pun intended) ice build in baldur's gate I've been actively trying to make one for a while now Most definitely will be taking some ideas and notes from this
Warhammer builds sound amazing actually! I would love to see you try doing some more beyond the Nurgle Champion. A Dwarf Slayer build could be pretty cool or maybe making a character like Teclis?
I prefer Warlock, tempest cleric and Wizard drow I get to keep 2 OP staves, plus I don't need high Charisma, rather high int will do the trick. 2 lvls in Warlock, 1 lvl in tempest cleric, 9 in wiz. Abjuration subclass Warlock gave me free Mage Armor so, easy way to get arcane ward charges Tempest cleric gave me proficiencies and some additional lighting damage reactions. Wizard is wizard, my fav class #nerd. Dual wielder is my bae for this build
So, one thing that caught my eye was the Infernal Rapier’s Melee Caster ability that allows you to use your spell casting mod instead of dex/str for hit and damage rolls. A lot of what I’ve seen has focused on the summon it gives, but since I’m a big gish person I wanted to figure out a way to roll over my Int or Wis as the mods for the weapon so I wasn’t forced into Warlock. The way I found that it worked is it adjusts to the last class that you leveled in. With 18 wisdom it worked with a test ranger I had giving +7 since it’s a +2 weapon, but when I took a random bard dip for the spell slots it went to a +1 because my Cha mod was -1. Haven’t gotten too far into the build but looking at doing a battle master fighter then picking up wizard in some capacity for an Int based duelist. Or I could grab Jahiera’s Sylvan Scimitar for dual wielding since it has the Melee Caster property as well. Would love to see your take.
I'd instead recommend doing it with swords bard personally. 6 swords bard for extra attack and flourishes, then 6 wizard. That way you still get all your spell slots and can learn high level wizard spells from scrolls. If you don't care too much about particular 6th level wizard subclass feature, you could even go 1 fighter, 6 bard, 5 wizard to get heavy armor and con proficiency while keeping your 6th level spell slot. You could even style it thematically as a good and evil summoner gish build by learning Sights of the Seele: summon Deva from the scroll in sorcerer's sundries, since now your wizard "bladesinger" can summon both a deva and a cambion.
Will you please make a barbarian/monk who throws the ice block. Exactly how much strength does it take to lift the ice block? Does barbarian bear ability, make it easier to lift the ice block; are there any potions or gear that make it easier to lift the ice block? Can you electrify the block for lighting damage? Can you poison the ice block for poisoning? Can you oil on the ice block and use fire to blow it up? How durable is the ice block?
No. If you learn spells from wizard, it will take for intelligence. If you get spells during your sorcerer level up, it will take it from charisma. So you have to choose. I recommend you take sorcerer spells that do not require save DC. With those type of spellsthat are damaged spells on wizard and increase your intelligence
That's magnificent build! Wow! I'm building it now, i paired it with storm sorcerer in my group, it's hilarious, both take advantage from wet so two party members damage is doubled XD
Can you please tell me why 16 INT? because our main damage will scale as 16 CHA for Sorcerer? For 1/2 level dip in Wizard for learning spells, we are adding so much point to INT?
Personally I love Dragonborn, I have played so many over all my runs in DND and in BG3. For this build if you want to be more played focus metallic dragonborn are nicer than the chromatic.
Dual wild thealr eluvie and a staff eairly in at the cretch you can get the Hoarfrost Boots are an uncommon pair of Boots that allow the wearer to not slip on icy surfaces.i would also sugesset Raindancer staff from Arron in the Grove which lets you cast Create Water if you want to loose the sheild and dual weild staff's or just cast it and put on your sheild.
The fact that a build centered around dealing only ice damage, would rather take ASI Charisma than Elemental Adept Ice, says a lot about the feats in BG3 / DnD5e.
I’m wondering how you would position yourself in a fight, because on one hand you want to be in the frontline with all the armour but then also targets will be too close and you’ll be threatened.
Where can we find documentation about spell caster attributes in a multiclass situation? This build is a key example. 20 CHA and 16 INT, what is the save for the spells I cast and also the bonus damage if caster attribute manages to get added at times?
The interface implies that you will use the spellcasting modifier for the class that you gained the spell from, but I could be mistaken. I’ve read comments stating it was patched to use the higher of the two/whichever caster class level was taken most recently, but it still shows your spell save DC for each class in the Spell-book and I don’t recall seeing that patch note. For example, using a sorcerer spell would scale off of charisma, but if I use Thunderwave from Tempest Cleric it would still scale off wisdom. Take this with a grain of salt, but that’s what I think is happening.
One thing I still don't understand, and I can't find a resource that explains it the way that makes sense... But if you mix 2 spell casting abilities. Not so in the way of this guide, but if you did a sorcerer wizard 6/6 split; when do spells use intelligence over charisma and vice versa?

So I'm curious as to why pick up heavy armor ability when draconic bloodline gives you essentially better AC with wearing robes. I'm also curious about what gear to wear if one were to choose to go this build but without the heavy armor.
Heavy armor can reduce damage taken when hit and reducing the amount needed to pass concentration checks. Also allowing you to dump dex if needed so you can add those points into other stats
Well I mean you are just going to sacrifice tank ability for offense. If its a DK you want then presumably you are looking for something similar like this but with more mele dmg potential. Now personally I would not do Oathbreaker even though Arthas was specifically just that. The reason is simply that Paladins (even oathbreakers) rely on their divine smite in dnd so much which kinda isnt a thing in WoW for DKs. The only real issue if you want to be more offensivly oriented in melee is that you simply cant do more levels into fighter/palad/berserk or whatever without losing those high level spell slots. Presumbably from your comment it sounds like you really want to do the killing in mele so the only frost spells that fit the bill of a frost DK are kinda armor of agh and fire shield which is a level 4 spell. So you could just grab wizard or warlock and bring that class up to lvl 7 and then dump rest into fighter. Of the top of my head: Warlock 7, Fighter 5 - This will get you 2 lvl 4 slots per *short* rest AND 3 melee attacks per turn if you go deep pact (thats right, 3 attacks) and 2 feats. It also allows you to use charisma for melee dmg. Only "issue" is that you skip out on using undead completely but you still get some other necro spells. Including hunger of hadar which is very cool and unique for warlocks. Cleric (war) 6, Wizard (necro) 6 - if you want to have lvl 6 spell slots + ability to use a bunch of undead. War domain provides 4 extra attacks per short rest. Not to mention you can align yourself with some nasty god like lolth or tiamat or w/e float your boat.
@@italianspartacus That’s awesome. I got into it relatively recently with 8th being my first edition. I love it but need to get more games in. What are your favorite 3 armies?

Always good to get tips on using Mage Hand better.

Why go heavy armor and make yourself so hard to hit?
Do you actively play 40K?
Yup! Have been for 20 years
