Man, I remember performing at Disneyland when I was in band in high school & again when my eldest son performed next door at California Adventure when he was in band in high school. He said my stories of performing there every year (& Six Flags Magic Mountain the next day) was the reason he joined the band. He played trumpet/cornet, baritone & tuba, while I played the flute/piccolo & also did Colorguard.
I graduated high school in 1989. From eleven years old I had played the trumpet. I was first chair in high school marching band and pep band from sixth grade on. I am from a small town in Kentucky. I never knew there were opportunities to play for a living. I missed my calling. I could have been fifth chair in an orchestra or played at Disney. 😢
