PT 16 mounted on Black Ops 118 was magic last season for deep days. Opened up all the hard to reach stashes that require a quick skin. Solid combo if your not a gram counter.
I waffled between CAST and Duke PT for a “hybrid” binding. (Shift has proven to be too fickle). They are very similar in terms of functionality. What it came down to for me was - do I want to support some private equity firm that only cares about their stock price or two brothers who started a small business in the Tetons and from my POV actually care about the skiing community. Easy choice - choose CAST.
Doesn't look like people will be able to engage the climbing bar with just their pole?
tried it and it was very difficult. had to stop and remove my skis from my foot.
@@matt.rraw. why would remove your skis? I mean can't you just squat down and use your hand?
@@proverbalizer some people simply are not flexible enough to do that.
@@matt.rraw. not flexible enough to reach down behind your heel with your hand? How do such people tie their shoe laces or buckle their ski boots? I'm super-not flexible (to the point I don't have enough hip external rotation to do a full kick turn), but it was pretty easy for me to bend down and flip the heel riser when I tried my new Dukes in my bedroom (maybe harder on a slope?)...I guess you do need pretty good knees...but you need good knees for skiing in the first place
@@proverbalizer bending does not only include the knees, but the lumbar spine, pelvis, hips and knees. Again, some of us don't have the best mobility. If it works for you, then cool. Enjoy it.
The “sustainability” segment lost me 😂
