Wow, Ik this is old, but it's for both, it was intended for freddie, but Roger told Brian to make the lyrics not so hinting towards freddie--basically at anyone who lost a loved one i assume--they also said in an interview around the same time this song was released, detailing how Brian felt a lot of freddie, diana, and gianni versache in the song, who all died in the 90's and the same time when the song was released

Yes, this is actually interesting case, why this song is at much higher pitch than standard A440hz. This is obiviosly digital piano so pitch is easy to tune sharp or flat. If I remember correctly this video is at pitch of A450hz, but original song actually seems to be at even higher pitch, maybe A452hz. That's super sharp, almost a half semitone up. No acoustic piano should (if even could) be tuned that high pitch.

how did you sharpen your piano by only a bit and not a semitone

Pitch can be fine tuned from piano's settings. It's more fine adjustment than transpose setting and you can sharpen or flatten the pitch anywhere between semitone.
