I recently bought a good old GT2 classic on a deep sale... looking at the reviews from the time when it was released and comparing how many software updates and new features were added to the watch, I think the Watch 3 should be OK, give it a couple of months...
I love the my GT2. I was doing a heart stress test at a heart lab and its heart rate monitor accuracy is amazing, its monitor accuracy was comparable to the expensive monitor equipment they use at the lab.
Hey Gustav - what you say makes perfect sense. But Harmony OS has been delayed that much, that so many missing options are at this point of time hard to forgive. I also hope to see the watch getting better. I think right now - there's a lot of unutilized potential.
@@TechMishka I suspect this was was originally meant for WearOS, but due to REASONS HarmomyOS was probably fast-tracked for this release. Agreed it is risky for Huawei to release it with some features not working out of the box, but this seems a trend with them to delay features on western releases. I had a Chinese version of an Honor Magic Watch in 2019 which had NFC and stress measurement included...GT2 only got some of these on iOS very recently...
I wished they had the ECG. That’s have been an instant buy for me. Maybe it comes with the next model. I LOVE that form-factor. Huawei makes the best looking wrist-wear
I have just purchased the huawei watch 3 pro i had the GT 2 pro before i got the 3 pro its a shame that we don't have android or a different operating system to make it better i hope it gets some good updates as it will be a shame if they don't add more features
Generally this is the difference between a fitness watch and a smart watch. The 3 Pro is probably more up your ally if you're after battery life. I still use my Gear S3 frontier. Just because I love my 5 day battery life with the battery saver on.....but Huawei is getting 21 days. So I might test it out. It's just hard for me to give up Samsung's MST technology.
@@qifuhyue3568 well let me suggest the Gear S3 Classic or Frontier. You can find either at random Pawn Shops for usually around a Hundred dollars. It is the best smart watch you can buy for that price. My GT2 pro is definitely more beautiful...but it just doesn't have the day to day greatness and usability that my Samsung has.
@@darpinian1 thanks, it’s a good watch I’ve seen it before but I don’t need any new watches. Pawn shops are also rare in my country. I prefer to pay the full amount upfront
@darpinian1 - totally agree about the difference between fitness/feature watch and smart watch. I think we can all agree that right now GT2 offers like 80% of what Watch 3 can do. Let's see how things will further evolve.
Is there a chance the they will add blood pressure and blood sugar measuring in future updates? And does it have ECG also? Because Samsung already has some of these features.
I have options, e3, skagen falster 3, galaxy watch 3,active 2, tick watch pro 2020, oppo watch, which should I go for , E3 have the latest ones and it is guaranteed a wear os update, but it's a TFT display and plastic build ,I don't care whether there is a wear os inside or not ,my parents ask me what watch I need and I wanted them to buy me cheap smart watches that's like Almost a year or 2 old ,?? So what should I go for??
If anything, Huawei proved that they dont need google to survive. They still sell their smatphones regardless of Google. Their SW/HW is always top notch (putting aside the GUI of EMUI). The watch is great, the screen is may be the only fluent screen in the smart watches area till now(60Hz) the rest just look stuttery right next to it. I did not see any of competition having something really crucial to offer to beat it, except for contactless pay, which is still under development (the others are either plastic or Samsung that looks more of a toy). I have many of Samsung products but ended up with this watch, i did not really see something else catchy neither from Samsung or the comletition as I wrote above.
Of course they can survive, but their market share in countries outside China will be very, very modest. Great to see you supporting the new Huawei Watch 3, and I hope future updates will bring a lot of cool improvements.
This one as a little better battery life. The Galaxy Active 2 has a lot better working software (I am surprised of myself saying this, but ... Harmony OS has lowered the bar 😁)
I have the GT2e and one of the first GT's, which both did what they were built for. After a drop of my GT2e and the glass broke, I bought the GT2 Pro. Though a beautiful watch and full of functions compared to the other two, I'm disappointed with the main part of the watch: the heart monitor that doesn't function very well in some modes (which I use). After this experience, I won't buy the Watch 3, also not for the price. I don't need all the functions of that watch. I also don't like the uneven button. Looks like it is missing one.
Thanks for the summary, Sjaak. I have had pretty much the same experience as you did. Loved my GT2, then upgraded to Pro - and the HR sensor is not as good.
Still can't choose between this watch and galaxy watch 4, i want a good battery with app + premium materials. Huawei better in battery, materials and bad in supported apps (not fitness app) , while Samsung better in supported apps and I'm afraid of daily charging. So confusing
I don't think they will go out of business in Europe... But it will take them time to either build a good AppGallery ecosystem, or get back to the GT-line.
i bought this recently battery life sucks 2 days last with nfc , wifi off ,, really bad choice ,, in Poland this cost 1800 pl which is dam expensive ,, i think the Chinese are not to be trusted any further

Does it support an external chest heartrate strap? I want to have the watch on my cycle handlebar and connect a Bluetooth chest strap?
That I can't remember...

If you don't need a specific WearOS feature - Harmony OSis good enough.
Best intro ever ✌️love the music
And was awaiting this Review best greetz from Germany ✊
Heey Sla Za, thanks so much for the kind words! 🙃🙃 Yeah, that's been in progress for a while, I just wanted to make sure I've tested everything.
@@TechMishka lovely i think i will wait for more watches like the : oneplus watch... I cant stand the upstanding Buttons🙄

Yeah!
Which watch should i buy Huawei watch 3 or Huawei gt3?
I prefer the GT series because of the greater battery life.
Just wanna check when it is launching in india , also wanted Amaze fit gt 3 pro when coming to India
It will be there soon enough,
When it’s double the price of the Watch GT2 but with only 1/4 of its battery life

I hve noticed there is no music app in huawei health app on the phone
There is "Music" app you can run from the watch.

Maybe the Samsung watches are a very good option given the low prices lately.

Petal Maps already available on Harmony OS and Huawei devices
Yeah. It was there back when I was filming the video. But it's just not good enough.
GT2 PRO does have the possibility to install apps
Indeed - it already has. But these apps are far from being great.
Can huawei fit app connect to strava?
There are special apps that can synchronize the data of the health app to strava.
Nope
Not from the Huawei Health app ... yet...
Why Huawei watch soo overprice
Good question! 🙃
Can I use WhatsApp on Huawei 3 watch?
You can read messages from it. No seperate app.

Don't buy anything from huawei for your country's safety!
I'd once again ask not to drive the conversation in direction politics. We talk about tech here.
