Also play the game hotline Miami, my friend inadvertly got me into this whole genre when he had me watch Drive and bought me Hotline Miami and it was such an amazing experience the music just speaks for itself!
You might also want to revisit some classic 80s movies like Wraith. Also there are ventures into recreating 80s sci fi in movies. You'll see such like with Turbo Kid and Kung Fury. The first you should be able to still find on netflix, the second should be free to watch on youtube, steam, and just about anywhere that deals in the likes. Movie is free to watch legit and you can buy a simple pattern combat game on steam to give a lil cash tip to the creators. if you look up synth, thats the music style of the recreated style of older new wave tends to go under these days. Search synth and you'll find plenty here on youtube and on music purchase sites like Bandcamp and CDbaby
these sounds made me stand up and dance for 3 minutes .. that's interesting 'cause nowdays in general we don't easily dance ... I hope for everyone on this world to have love and compassion, forgiveness and helpfulness one 2 another ...
god damn it, i've been waiting to see something like this on youtube for a while now, im gonna turn my vintage kenwood and vintage speakers up and hear this good shit, fuck 2000's im going back to the 80's

@akrinah The thing is, techno and dubstep is just a generic thing. You can have maybe 10 original songs and then the rest sounds similar. You teach yourself to one taste and you lose capability of appreciating all the others and you world will become smaller again. Therefore those people listening to all the same generic pop music and dubstep they are not dumb. They are hurt, addicted and hard to convince they are loosing a lot of good stuff. And I mind only because one reason. When I turn on radio during driving my car, all I can hear is 80's rock which is tolerated because everyone knows those songs and all generic pop music. It is annoying to look all the time actively for new songs, for new art, new metal and rock bands.

I was born in *1985* and I feel exactly the same thing like yours! 😉
these sounds made me stand up and dance for 3 minutes .. that's interesting 'cause nowdays in general we don't easily dance ... I hope for everyone on this world to have love and compassion, forgiveness and helpfulness one 2 another ...

All this epic music in one place is too much to take...Brain overload.

LOL!
Nothing like that 80s synth revival.
Let it go to your heart, and soul, not just the brain.

im just now learning of this music, screw modern techno and dubstep!!!
FilthyFrank would like to know your location
believe me .. this is 80s techno
@akrinah The thing is, techno and dubstep is just a generic thing. You can have maybe 10 original songs and then the rest sounds similar. 1:12:00 that song that starts around here is amazing.
born in 1980 here. synthwave made me feel young again - thx!
This is why I like the 80's/90's movies!!
I wish I would have grown up in the 80's. I loved the 90's but the 80's seem like they were so fun.
You don't know how much i feel that way too mate
I could show you plenty of cool stuff from the 80s. The saturday morning cartoons at the time were something else. Some of the most interesting and intriqute toys came out about then before video games began to take the real strong hold. That being said it could be considered the birth of more modern video games in the nintendo era that started around 1984. Before the Nintendo, there were a ton of game consoles made by every other company and no one console seemed to become the norm, not like the three that tend to hold the market heavily at any one time like we see these days.
The Nintendo Entertainment System is the console that more or less was the beginning of settling the Gaming Wild West. You'll find a very interesting time in the 80s decade. Its also about when more serious cyber punk and grunge sci fi with dystoian themes were becoming more perfected and not quite as seeming nerdy as previous franchises.
I wish I was never born
Bombercules well that sounds very harsh. Why would you not want to be born? THere's so much to miss out on if you're not around.
I'm nostalgic for a world that never really existed. That's what it feels like when I listen to these -waves.
I have strange feeling that by the time 2080 comes round that everything will be retro and have that 80's vibe but with added technology :S
DrumtotheBass Woop i was thinking the exact same thing. all the make believe of the 1980's could be real in 2080's
THAT'S I3VSSIC I don't know if I'm nervous or excited 😐 I mean sexy androids will look gorgeous all the time 😎
DrumtotheBass Woop 😂😂 hey i mean. it's an idea
DrumtotheBass Woop sorry man I've been beyond 2080 and its not like that
1980's vibe with an Eastern theme to it*
Perfect soundtrack for nightshifts
on one rn, tru dat, my friend(with an ankap flag lel)
Hell yes man. Been playing this stuff for over a year now erry night i work. Mhmm keeps the long nights entertaining lol pure bliss yo
Also good for road trips.
not even kidding. Totally agree.
@SwordOfGlory1
Agreed
Takes me back to the days of One Must Fall and Death Rally.
O.M.F.! The pre-match insults are real.
One Must Fall was the first thing I thought of...
OMF! Man I forgot about that. Your comment brought back such awesome memories. Most underrated game of the 90s!

That game is awesome.
Reminds me of the war against the machines. If you are reading this, we made it.
Quiet Side #LOL
The war has just begun!
are we machines as well? are we sure we have a soul? my answer are not at all to the first.... but surely yes to the second...
Ah yes, the "Time Wars" of the 80's. Thank you James Cameron for saving the world.
It's not over yet!
What happened to the timestamps for the songs?
We want timestamps!
timestamps pls!!!
We need a hero to make time stamps for all songs in a comments section here, and the likes will be astronomical. Who will be that hero?

Rachael: Do you like our owl?
Deckard: It's artificial?
Rachael: Of course it is.
Deckard: Must be expensive.
Rachael: Very.
Deckard: so this is artificial?
Zora : of course it is, do you think I could afford a real snake?
Deckard : Fish?
Microscope Lady : Not Fish, Snake Scale, try Abdul bin Hasan, He Make the Snake.

RIP Rutger
The first 10 seconds are sick! I'm obsessed with this mix lol
This is what I've been waiting for for my whole life. We really need artists to get in on this now!
There's not jus the old school and the new school...
we've been out here making synth tunes n rockin parties HARD for the last 30 years, believe it or not.
Check out the Don, DMX Krew. Hard at it since 94.
www.discogs.com/artist/983-DMX-Krew
check out electric youth
man, the 80's was a great decade
WHERE HAS THIS MIX BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!?
OMG. Fighting Spirit has sound clips from Blood Sport. AMAZING.
Sickest Synthwave mix I've heard in a while. Great to work to.
1:40:00 - Zombie Hyperdrive "Red Eyes" reminds me of B.E.R. "The Night Begins To Shine". It doesn't sound the same. It just reminds me of that type of song. Titans GO!
Man, these old mixes still KILLIN' it!
The spirits of Tangerine Dream and John Carpenter will always live through this.
This ought to be the soundtrack to all cyberpunk stories and sci-fi shows from the 70's and 80's.
I'd also say that this music is a requirement when playing TTRPGs like Cyberpunk 2020, Shadowrun, or Interface Zero.
It's also great for a Call of Cthulhu campaign set in the 80s, for which I can personally attest.
Was listening to this on 1.75 speed for the better part of an hour before I noticed. Sounds great either way.
Really Great Tunes & Mix Thanks !!!
I'm loving this Mix so much.
Me too!
Great job except for the possible mislabelling of Neon Bastard at 1:53:00 (also labelled as the first song). :) Thanks for posting this, great compilation.
Such a great mix. Perfect for studying to. I bust through tons of Question bank sets for my med school boards on this mix.
just do a montage, you'll save so much more time
This is the Thumbnail url i.ytimg.com/vi/NHCgbs3TcYg/maxresdefault.jpg , enjoy ;)
Yeah dude awesome. Still listening to this on and off months after finding it! Good job!
The fact that this opens with Neon Bastard, I just know its a legit playlist. My boss thanks you for my productivity levels increasing
I'm glad Nightwave isn't in this mix.
It's literally in nearly every mix ever.
tru dat
you mean nightcall?
No, Nightwave. Or is it Flightwave?
I love Nightcall.
Both are okay, but too saturated
title is ''best of snythwave'', no Mitch Murder in playlist .....
...
Came for the legs in the thumbnail, left with great listening experience.
wich one ?
MrAbdala89 the thicc girl
My favorite is the Terminator song, Division - Escape from Orion.
Awesome compilation. Thanks for sharing dude.
Great Mix, thank you for helping me get through this remote working Monday
Oh hell yes!! Love this mix!
This channel has given me a reason to regrow my mullet! Thanks!
you, sir, are the most epic mixer on youtube. I salute you!
WAVE music, vapor, chill, synth, it's all AESTHETIC
This has to be one of the best playlists on RUclips.
Thanks for this wonderful mix, this kind of work it´s really important to revive the 80´s golden age. Thanks for this masterpiece and keep doing your excellent work ThePrimeThanatos.
They should do a mirror's edge game based in the 80's with this color scheme, this whole vibe.
You're completely right.
The Far Cry 3 DLC with it's 80ies flair was a hit.
Mirrors Edge with it's dystopian scenario and parkour mechanics already has legendary status.
But still a "Parkour genre" is non-existent, even when the games are top selling.

Well, it's at least good to know someone agrees with me.
Look up CyberRun... Its a new game coming out in 2020

I can't be the only one to stumble on this awesomeness and had to listen to it in its entirety. Fucking amazing.
Why are some of your videos blocked in the U.S. now? Back to the 80s Vol. 4 is an example of one of them and it was one of my favorites... : (
Sounds a lot to the movie soundtrack by Daftpunk "Tron Legacy", were they inspired by 80's synths to make the soundtrack ??
not only synth, futurefunk, citypop, vaporwave
Thank you so much for the soundtrack to a generation, my generation. It brings back so many memories of my childhood. Thanks so much for the cronological track list as well. This is absolute perfection, that teleports some of us to a completly different time and place, if you let it. I don't usually subscribe to most people but this is an exception!
One of the bests synthwave mixes.
Sure I love synthwave, but I'll admit that it was the thumbnail that got my attention.
This mix is HOT,
MERRY CHRISTMAS RUclips
Division - Escape from Orion (feat. Sonic Synergist) sounds like Terminator theme. Great mix!
