i don't even think that kind of sounds and quality exist in the 80's, but deyum! i love synthwave so freaking much!
maybe in the afterlife...
@@richardsilva8603
It's more 80's than the 80's. ;P
Maybe in year 2180s, this type of aesthetic would be the norm.
Hopefully i live that long.

yeah man, just like lute music is huge now!
@@alonestar2316 Not really possible?
Or 1980's.
I love that Stranger things has introduced a generally younger generation to 80s synth!! How great ❤
Fantastic

You got cause and effect mixed up, my friend
I’ve been listening to 80s way before this because of my parents
My child and I watched ST together. I was so happy I could show her the clothes I used to wear, the music we listened to... the supermarkets.. and face to face friendship. This series is one of the best things that ever happened to us❤ and this music is just sublime👏👏👏 thanks!!!
I was born in 78, so i was a child during the 80s, i remember this beats very clearly, i remember Saturday morning cartoons, the Thundercats, He man, She Ra, the Ghostbusters, the playing swapping cards and nick nacks from Pick and Save, the magic of morning breakfast, the made up lair shacks that we would build for hideouts, video stores, tower records, red, yellow, orange and brown, wooden panels, split level homes, KB toys, toys with quality that could actually be yours to touch and to personalize and that would be presented not just on a gaming console or a tablet! So many kids today don't and will not have the privilege to experience this things. We live in a totally different era today, the analog was pushed away to make room for the digital! Much has changed for worst and some for better! Do i miss the 80s? of course, I even miss the 90s for god sakes but i can always look back and smile! Is in my memory!
I was born in 77... and you nailed every word, sentence down FLAT.
KB Toys.. man, I grew up in that place. I loved it. Lionel Kiddy City.. was the best damn toy store... till ya had Toys R Us. I dont mean this PC bs of organization, I mean aisle after aisle floor to ceiling... of Toys.
I used to go sledding in the winter on a sled that you could steer. Id go out sledding for a bit, then come back in and watch Knight Rider, FAME, Pink Panther...
HECK... there is ONE thing I wish I had, a camera, cause no one believes me. (But it was INSANE to ask for a CAMERA and hand it to a child.)
This is one of my favourite comments on youtube

I was born in 68, so for me it's Speed Racer and Scooby Doo in 73 up to Schwarzenegger films in the 80s/very early 90s...
Speaking as a child of the 80's, this is like coming home. Thank you.
Oh my God yes!!!

Nah people in the 80s didn't put music out this ripe, fresh, awesome, you choose the word. We had to go through the 90s and then the terrible 00s to figure out what does not in fact suck ass. We're making the 80s better with this music right here.
Class of '89 here, and just like most others here, I'm rather nostalgic for this time in my life. Reason? I knew without a shadow of a doubt that it would be the BEST time of my life. Sure, life is good for me now. But then? From the time I was 9 in 1980 until graduating in 89, I got to experiences the entire decade from start to finish. From Video Killed the Radio Star by the Bugles to Love Shack by the B-52s, it was an awesome time. Yep, I was a D&D geek just like in Stranger Things too. Still am at 51.
Welcome to the future old man 🎉 Nah but for real, I wish I could have experienced what my parents and so many others did. The 70s-late 90s were some interesting times to be alive, and when the internet wasn’t quite a thing yet, people had other means of entertainment. I’m sure it must have been a blast man 🙏
89 grad as well...Being a teen in those days were so weird, it was like the end of the old and the beginning of something else. It was cool and it was shitty at the same time. Im with ya brother...I was those kids too.
@@jamesyboy4330 since when is 51 old? LOL
Video Killed the Radio Star by the Bugles and Love Shack by the B-52s, Great tunes! Not forgetting Sweet Dreams by the Eurhythmics too

You all gonna arrive one day, if you are allowed to continue breathing on this place we call MOTHER EARTH.
I would seriously like to see the end off ISTs - Mysoginists, Racists, Ageists and so the F, on .
Ever just.. get high off of music?? Like this shit is CRAZY. The vibe is absolutely unreal.
Let's be honest. There is a timeless beauty element in 80s retro music. Even modern music haven't catched up to it. That's why you and I are here again, to listen to this futuristic music. Simply ELIXIR.

I can clearly say that this is the best synthwave set i ever heard so far. All tracks are so unique and have their own character. Full respect to these musical genius mind producers.
amazing how we live in the year 2020 and nothing in this world looks like how we saw it back in the future movies of the 80s and 90s it's a shame
A laughing shame
The future is almost never like what the futurists envision.
Yep, as a kid of the 80s the future is kind of letdown especially with the recent 'crisis'. This music is great to escape everything and reminisce when we used to dream more about the potential of humanity.
@@savagefist1029 Be pessimistic, and you will always be able to predict the future.
You can blame the boomers for that.
I've been on a Synthwave kick for a while now and have come to find out there are different types of Synthwave emotions. I find that the deeper, darker, but not necessarily 'evil' Synthwave sounds much more intense than 'happy and jolly' Synthwave. I love the way this sounds and have been searching for this kind of music for a while. Thank you so much for posting this up!

that animated cyberpunk / dystopian neon city as background make these mix even more exquisite
In the 80s, the future was chrome and neon- electric blue and pink, chrome and lasers....
Now it's black plastic that cracks or tears...
Love how Pertubator comes up throughout nearly 1/3 of the mix :D
Driving into the dark is lit AF with this in my car. Love it
Maybe in the future we will be able to visit the past... imagine how fun it’d be to visit the 80’s?
This is what I call "dark" and mystic. Thank you for making the 80's great times come back again..
May the 80s last forever.
First song is a masterpiece
Meanwhile The Weeknd is still making 80s music in 2020.
He's really just collaborating with Artists who make Synthwave and such. Synthwave has been a thing for over a decade and is definitely still a thing in 2020 lul. And it extends a lot more from this style... I hate TW's vocals anyways. Ruins tracks like Odd Look by Kavinsky. Here's the original before the weeknd messed it up: ruclips.net/video/qT0iQRjHbW4/видео.html
@CrypticDragon Nah, I don't hate "him", just his voice. "Hate" was also poor word choice on my part. I see the similarity to Michael Jackson, but I actually do like his voice most times. Sorry for the miscommunication.
@Cryptic What??? He doesn't really sound that much like Michael Jackson. If anything, that's the trouble with pop today, they all sound like a constipated MJ.
That’s why we love them so damn much
@@milojohnson4648 absolutely.
For authenticity this should be rerecorded on cassette and re-rerecorded after being played through an 80s peavey pa system.
XD WHO HAVE A CASSETTE PLAYER THIS DAYS? I MISS THE DIRTY SOUND
@@tabeshimafukushima8103 they make cassette players and recorders again since retro is in. I have my eye on one that is modeled after an 80's boombox. Like a third of the size thankfully! haha and you can still bluetooth your phone to it to use the speakers. win win!

This is money!!! Those wave synths apparently impacted me way more than I realized in the 80’s.
This is making a lot of people feel nostalgic but it makes me excited honestly for our cyberpunk future

This music gets my blood pumping and my mind dwelling back to a time that was totally rad. Man I miss the 80s and 90s this music takes me back and makes me see all the montages in movies while kind of music played. I hope when I get to heaven it’s a constant loop of the 80s up to the early 2000s only.
@38:06 that bass drop is wicked.
I have absolutely no idea why, but this channel's playlist enhance my concentration so much, I always listen to it with my headphones on when I have some urgent task for my work and it actually works great, even though I put the volume so high I wouldn't hear a gunshot.

So happy to discover this genre! 😎👍🏼
spectacular!!
'85 and still alive. Grew up to this as well. I love these so much. This all inspires me more and more. I listen to this when I'm editing my work.
One of my favorite Synthwave mixes out there. Sounds incredible!
Depeche Mode s Dreamland !! What a Joy of sounds. Is like the Dark Crystal became sounds of synths. Other worldly
Best one I've heard - and there's a lot on here.
This is a perfect 80s flashback. Lots of ZX spectrum sounds here, TV, movie clubs, action heroes, dance clubs, mix cassete tapes and everything sold on magazines. A nice travel in time! A music genre deserving its place in 2020s for a long time already.
♥
Tron, War Games, The Running Man, Predator, The Terminator, Total Recall, Commando, BladeRunner, RoboCop, Lion Heart, They Live, The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China, Escape From New York, Army of Darkness.... all great 80s movies that had synthwave in the soundttrack.
Love this genre so much! This is exactly the type of music that inspired me to make my own darksynth channel with new mixes and creations.
Love this, and I was a child in the 80's so loving even more😁
And with this hype I really, really hope, that Synthiemusic as in the 80ies comes back big!!!
At least you would have put all the songs to the same gain.
Have listened to this at least 10 times and shared with others. Great stuff !
This is my soundtrack for work. It has been for months now. Perfect playlist.
First track goes hard
You aren’t hard or tough, and have skinny chicken arms.
@@vexshoemaker3941 The Killik hives that constructed Centerpoint Station called it Qolaraloq, or The World Puller. However, the Killiks did not design the station, they were working on behalf of two Celestial architects known as the Son and Daughter of Mortis. The purpose of the station was to create a tractor beam analogue powerful enough to move planets, stars, and even black holes from across the galaxy. To accomplish this feat, the Killiks first constructed Centerpoint Station in orbit around Corel, a star with only two outlier planets.
This first track is a banger! Love it.
That may be the best playlist I´ve heard this year on youtube. Thank you sir, I consider you as very talented.
How I know this is a good song? In the first 30 seconds I got goosebumps listening to this.
Perturbator has some great tracks synth, dark and chiptune. Great mix
I love this SO DAMNED MUCH. There's a bit in here around the 25 minute mark that sounds like a vintage Atari POKEY chip being pushed to its limits and I freaking LOVE it.
I listen to this at work (when I'm not stuck listening to hold music) and 56:35 always makes me jump because I think I'm about to have a phone conversation I'm not prepared for.
It's 3 years later and it got me again.
Perfect for a Stranger Things party!

First I have ever heard of synthwave and it is amazing. Some songs sound like they could be from Tron Legacy, Goldeneye 64, Command and COnquer and a whole lot of other video games I loved playing. Definitely the perfect music to chill and work to.
oh man! goldeneye 64 is a flash back! this has a bit of a Perfect Dark vibe
Prefect music for speeding down the highway at night
yassssssss this is EXACTLY what I was wanting to listen to!! Thanks for sharing with us all!!!
I like how we all feel nostalgic of a time that didn't sounded or looked like that.
Like someone pointed out : "techno"/synth music was barely existing, and purple/pink/blue weren't the main 80's color theme at all.
But I definitely dig that rewriting !
Neo-80's for the absolute win!
Afaik synths were actually pretty big in the 70's and 80's (80's especially), featured on countless tracks from pop to disco etc. Techno and House were born in like 88/89. Listen to the score for scarface or blade runner for instance, or songs like Van Halen Jump or Billie Jean, bands: Aha, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Cyndi Lauper, Alphaville, Nena... House and techno evolved out of disco which was around in the 70's.
Dunno what alternate 80s dimension you went through, but purple/pink/blue and neon shit absolutely were trendy. Acid wash denim, high top Reeboks with the laces undone, hot-neon jackets, hair for days. I went through the 80s in Silicon Valley and it was very Tron-like at times.
I'm loving it at 30:11 minutes in...a great cover of the music from the Phantasm films!
The breakdown in Pertubator's Satanic Rites @19:05 is ridiculous.
As unique as super eurobeat is, there's something nostalgic and different about 80s synthwave. I love both genres. Nice work!
Oh, this is so good. 80s music is like no other.
gosh. i love the 80's. i wish i could've experienced it.
Dark and cold synthwave is what I need for my walk at night.
I did not know that I needed this in my life until I heard it!!! Definitely part of the rotation! Takes me back to that time....good times..😊
I'm a metal head but I'm also an 80s baby and this makes me wish times would repeat . Love this I listen to it when I drive at night

Synthwave: Something old but always new!
Nowadays music: Something old and still also old!
That was stupid and lame.
You smell like the back of someone’s body.

Damn Perturbator Satanic Rites is just too good!
I'm only familiar with the Perturbator tracks, the rest of these gems are new to me so thank you for this. I absolutely adore dark synth. Also, I think it's genuinely lovely how you've done those timestamps in the video. Very thought out, nice one 😊😄
Wow that's a entire set of some of the hottest dark retro synthwave I ever seen. I often find mixes with meh songs but this one, everything rocks!
