Hi! I have an 1987 E30 and also E90 sport seats. Is it possible for you to share the dimensions of the piece you attached to the back? i.e. how many centimeters are the distance between the original stud slot and the stud you welded later?
They are absolute GARBAGE though is you take them apart. Seriously. They are so thin. It's not a matter of if but when the side bolsters on top or bottom will tear from the frame. Especially if you are wider. They are seriously Chinese level quality.
Nice upgrade! I wasn’t able to tell from the angle of the video, but are you able to still use the seat belt loop that’s on the floor? I’ve seen people who put E36 / E46 seats in having to shorten them. Thanks
I ended up getting some powered E92 sports seats for fairly cheap. I noticed that from left to right the E92 seats are slightly wider, which is why I realized you opened one of the front holes. But for the rears, are they slightly raised because they are resting on the bolt that is used to hold down the bracket? Or can you explain what’s happening there? And thanks again for posting this, it’s been very helpful!
I widened both front holes then the rears which have the mounting hole a bit further back I Mae my adaptor plates and bolted them down with low profile torx bolts that I grabbed from the doner e92. I did put spacers in the front and rear to raise the rails just enough to clear the bolts. I’m not sure if the power seats you have are any bulkier then my manual versions but I got mine to line up and move all the way forward and back without running the center council. I know my video isn’t extremely detailed but I did show some pics of the brackets I made, hopefully that will guide you enough!
@@AdamCroll Thanks again for the reply! Yes, the pictures definitely helped. I'll be working on brackets myself and hope to have them installed shortly.
I’ve tried a lot of seat options over the years and most are always too tall, e90/2 are the closest I’ve found to stock in height and width. They are a few centimeters wider than stock but they don’t touch or rub the center council.
@@jenstori5746 yes they do in my opinion. E36 seats are taller. So it might depend how tall you are, I’m personally over 6’ so I need my butt as close to the floorboard as possible 😄
I’m going to have to get me some of these seats now!
Good videos👍
Great work
Dude, that's freakin' sweet! Nice...

I love the old e30 seats so much, you should keep them

Guess what, everyone doesn't agree with you, shocking isn't it.
@@UpsideDownCanoe sadly true
@@CoyoteCrimeLord good point, i just like the look of them more for the aesthetics of the car
Keeping the car original looks better of course
Which e92 specifically did you get these seats from?

The e90/2 seats seem to be narrower than e36/46 seats and it does not rub on either side, so yes the belt loop was untouched.
@@AdamCroll Awesome, thanks for the response!

Hey man! No more videos? Did you stop with the channel?
Hi! Just bought the same seats. Do you sell the brakets you made to fit the e90 seat?
Are you subscribed to the channel ‘restore it’? The most comprehensive list of videos on rebuilding E30s.
Nice
sorry my english, i use a translator, i wanted to ask if the seats of the bmw e30 convertible front can fit well on my e30 coupe thank you
Convertible and coupe seats should be the same, while the sedan (4 door) seats do not have the ability to fold forward.
Hi how much difference in size from e30 sports seats I have e46 and I feel like they are to big

Thanx keep make videos 👍🏽👍🏽
What's the measurements on the bracket
+1
I would love to know also, please don’t keep this info to yourself! Help some dudes out
How are you liking these seats? Do they sit high/low enough? Forward/back enough?
I’d say it has more adjustment over the stock seats in all directions.
@@AdamCroll great to hear.
Has anybody does this to e36? Looking for a diy
Anyone managed to swap then in a e46?
I'm hoping to try that soon. Might have to make brackets not sure yet
