I work for Amtrak in the track department and this is crazy how realistic it looks, it’s a lot different when your standing 15 feet away from a Regional or Acela going by at 80mph - 120mph lol
TSW graphics are phenomenal. I've ridden this section countless times on Amtrak and am pleased to see how well they detailed it. The only thing missing is that in real life when you cross Hells Gate Bridge (16:00) you get a great view of Manhattan off the right hand side.
I work for UP as a conductor and i remember one of these engines being in our yard (I'm part of the Chicago/Great Lakes service unit btw) and got a ride inside one of these babies...they're nice!!
Love the video. The signal that was all yellow but it said its green is called a position light that was used by the Pennsylvania Railroad when they owned the line. The lights will always be yellow but the position they are in dictate what they are. Straight up and down is clear, diagonal is approach, and horizontal is stop. From what I have seen there are 3 different types of signals on the NEC. Position Lights, Color Position Lights, and Type G Triangle signals. Also from what I was reading about TSW 2020 is that if you have 19 you will get it for free just if you dont have the certain routes you will have to buy those seperately. It's like regular Train Simulator 19 ect.
Hey Jeff, my aunt is the deputy chief for Amtrak police department Mid-Atlantic division so it is funny seeing it in video games. Keep up the great work.
@@GodAtum I am not exactly sure I dont see here often because she is so busy. You would problebly have to deal with an individual department from where you want to do a ride along. That's my advise at least
New Rochelle is in Westchester County, New York, and it is just North of NYC on the North East Corridor. It is actually also where Metro-North Railroad (commuter RR for NYC) and Amtrak split off.
New Rochelle is just outside the city. Its on the other side of the Hudson, and is the next stop for the Regional North of Manhattan. The Acela stops in Stamford
Yeeeah more TSW! You should definitely get the LIRR Jeff, you'd enjoy that one :) Could you also do some more of the cargo scenarios? Some of the shorter shunting ones are pretty good fun, and you get to go in and out of the cabs a lot with some slower paced moving of cargo wagons :)
You start in New Rochelle in Westchester county on Metro North's New Haven line, the line that branches off to the right is the New Haven line to Grand Central Terminal... immediately branch off and travel south through the Bronx. The Hell Gate Bridge (the big bridge you go over) goes from the Bronx to Queens, then you travel through Queens and into the tunnel under the East River into Manhattan. In real life, Laguardia is about a mile away from the Hell Gate bridge and you can clearly see the airport in full action as you go across
Hey Jeff, with the little icons on the screen that show your speed, signals, stations, etc, You can change it show it shows the same information, but down in the bottom corner. It clears up the screen so you can see the game better, but still gives you all the tips for driving.
16:00 You're actually crossing onto the physical landmass of Long Island via the Hell Gate Bridge just as you mention Long Island, but you're entering Astoria, Queens, and generally when people refer to Long Island they're not counting Brooklyn and Queens, which are part of New York City since 1898. Where you started from in New Rochelle is the last stop shared with Metro-North, which heads to Grand Central while Amtrak heads to Penn Station, and also the end of the slowest part of the NEC because it's the only part dispatched by someone other than Amtrak. All the other commuter lines that use the NEC rely on Amtrak for dispatch (at least when they're using the NEC) but Metro-North does their own. As a result the Boston-NYC leg of the NEC, which also contains the fastest stretches of track along the line, has a much lower average speed than the NYC-Washington leg.
I gotta be honest: I'm pretty sure this game not only looks better (which it does), but is better than Train Simulator 2019. This thing is just BEAUTIFUL. :)
Hi Jeff, Great video on the Amtrak line. Just a little advice though ok. I have Ridden on those trains before & the only advice I have is to let you know that as an engineer’s of those Trains (Sim Or Not) anytime that you’re entering a station or just passing through one always use the Horn & the Bell as it lets other train engineers & passengers know that you’re either passing through or about to stop in that station. As for entering a Major Train Depot’s Like New York’s Penn Station a short blast on the horn is used & the Bell must remain on until the Train has stopped. Again Great video though.
People lost their minds about the bell last time so that’s why I shut it off. Helping my misophonia friends out 😁 Thanks for the tip on the horn blast!
Ok Jeff I understand. You seem like a Good Person. I understand where you’re coming from. I guess it has something to do with my Aspergers (I’m Autistic). I Enjoy all your videos including the American Truck Simulator Videos that you do. I may have Autism, but your Trucking videos give me a peace of comfort knowing that someday I’ll be able to go back out on the road again. I also like your Train & Flight Simulator Videos as well. Maybe we can connect sometime.Have A Great Week & Weekend coming up.8
Enjoyed the video Jeff. I'm not 100% sold on TSW yet. Graphics are outstanding but the entire game has more of an arcade feel as opposed to simulation.
Speaking for myself and possibly a few more, I can enjoy a nice chill vid like this from time to time, something dare I say therapeutic after a crazy day or some intense gaming. Add: Forgot to ask on the last one, but are there options for historical engines like a steamer, a Big Boy, etc? A transcontinental trip with a steam engine sounds amazing at the moment! =D
Great video you didn’t have to keep the ditch lights on flash because when ever you blow the horn they will automatically come on and return to normal after a few seconds but it doesn’t matter
Dove Tail the maker of train sim world and train sim is not known to fix the american routes (or the game in gen), and take a back seat to the ones in the uk.
Hello I have a quick question for you when I get underground this is nowhere else in the game I have the reverser is in forward but when I put it in notch 2 instead of going forwards it goes backwards is this a glitch or is it me? Please help...

Wow Penn station looks pretty accurate. I worked in there with ome of my crews a few months ago. Looks almost spot on.
Hey Jeff, keep up the great work!! I was wondering when you would do another shared cockpit with Cpt Canada, as those were so amazing!
"This the train to PENN STATION the next stop is PENN STATION"

I love how realistic the trains sound, I closed my eyes at one point and I could actually imagine myself on the train

goldosprey metro north also stops at new Rochelle Jeff should ride the metro north if that's an option it's so cool

James Kaplonek yeah like CSX
i really wanna get one but im like $30 really thats the same price as the actual game
Agent piggles dude the game is $60
He should do LIRR and Metro North
Hey Jeff here's a tip there's no crossing along the North East Corridor so you don't have to worry about them
Well that portion. I live on the NEC and there is a grade crossing in Waterford, CT. Pretty sure from DC to Boston. There are a couple.
Mike D no he means just in that part
@@miked7745 this route he’s on doesn’t go to Washington DC
Really glad to see you doing more TSW and railroads in general. Keep it up!

You have a better on time record than the actual Amtrak!
Trains are lit.
I'm not a huge fan of OCRP but I love the train sim. series. Love this!
Love the train sim videos

Master controller B is reverse. That's why it works like a brake

Niceee vid jeff! Could you perhaps do a rainy scenario next?
The Northeast Corridor employs grade separations for safety. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to do those speeds. So you won’t see any crossings.
Would this become a series? I love these videos

I LIVE ALL YOUR SIMULATER GAMES KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
I love your videos!
Make sure your set your independent brakes when stopped.
You should Purchase the SW100R that comes with the Cab car.
Love this game and I’m excited to see Jeff playing it.
No, it only goes from Newark liberty to New Rochelle
Umm I assume you replied to the wrong comment.
Motocross Gaming yup
Looooove your video 👍🛤️🚝, do more Amtrak
The things Jeff says to the NPC characters when they're doing something dum stupid or being a asswohle is priceless.
Hey Jeff you should do some more of the Amtrak on your train game
its really realistic, especially hells gate bridge and RFK bridge along i-278.
Jeff when you see a sign along the track that has a big "W" on it, that means a crossing is approaching and you whistle
Yeahhhhh we got some Amtrak trains, there really popular in the conneticut and the New York section of the northeast section
Hey jeff if you read this or not
But i love your vids dude you are the simulator games player keep up the good
Work
Peace
Hi Jeff! I recommend you check out the Long Island Rail dlc of this game. It’s one of my personal favorite routes to drive in this game!
Nice video Jeff. You should do some British Senarios. You can drive a HST to 125mph!
Your channel is amazing. 😁
My favorite train I love the horn on it
north east corridor is busy MOST of the time.
You should do some more freight trains
I caught the 657 in Bristol last year. For those who don't know, Bristol is near Philadelphia.

TSW 2020 is more a bundle of routes with new features then a whole new game.
Great video you didn’t have to keep the ditch lights on flash because when ever you blow the horn they will automatically come on and return to normal after a few seconds but it doesn’t matter
This is my 1st favorite train my 2end is the Csx one
New Rochelle is in Westchester County. Just north of NYC and the Bronx.
Love this game
You seriously need to go through tutorial again, to learn the shortcut keys to make it a lot easier
I have train sim world 2020 and train sim world 2. Amtrack train looks awesome
Just did all of the scenarios, more entertaining when you play them though.
Dove Tail the maker of train sim world and train sim is not known to fix the american routes (or the game in gen), and take a back seat to the ones in the uk.
@jeff favignano do you prefer the deluxe edition or the regular train sim world
haha i live in new rochelle and thats exactly what our station looks like with the buildings
Hey Jeff, just figured out that if you press X on the controller, it switches between brakes.
Jeff you should do the Long Island RR DLC for this game
Hi Jeff I love Train Simulator NYC (DLC) is great and New Rochelle is located Upstate NY.
If it’s possibly you should do the West Coast Main Line in the U.K. from Manchester to London. Line speed is 125mph
Did Anyone Notice we passed the yard for terminal Switch | Also Jeff Whens the next multiplayer Police Sim
They should add a ge genesis
Does this involve the entire Corridor?
Hi Jeff can you do some english train sim aswell
The routes seem shorter than TS but I could be wrong, anyway I wonder how this would check out with a Quadro 4-or 8000 lol!!!!
On Amtrak NEC, crossings are limited, or there are almost no railroad crossings
Wait pressing x changes your brake type from independent to automatic?
If they added the surfliner or the genesis I would be VERY happy/
Passenger service like you are doing does not have crossings because of the speed.
Just because they're passenger trains don't mean there are no road crossings, there just aren't any on this section of the NEC.
Jeff can you fly the new Carenado falcon 50ex on xplane please
how many km/h does this train maximum speed
Ever go to Orlando Amtrak station?
I've been on alot of trains but never a Amtrak one before there very fast
This mission is the only one I cant pass, apparently the game thinks I'm coming into the station to fast, even though I'm going under 10 mph
In free roam camera mode how do you move the camera around it’s just stuck in one place for me
What laptop would i need to play this. What link is it for the game
Hello I have a quick question for you when I get underground this is nowhere else in the game I have the reverser is in forward but when I put it in notch 2 instead of going forwards it goes backwards is this a glitch or is it me? Please help...
I played that today
Very interested in getting this game. What do you personally recommend to play it on PC, xbox, or Ps4?
All of the above, but just make sure you have a powerful computer
Ay New Rochelle I live close to New Rochelle.
hey Jeff is there a way to talk to you about the Trains on here?
Can you do the ES44AC part of the game
is this train sim world 2020? or a different train sim world
LIT
Cool video
Nice love it
you could have done the five horn warning instead of the crossing
Dumb question.. What are you playing this on?
They aren't releasing a whole new game. They are updating this one and releasing a few new DLC.
More X-Plane Please!
I rode this exact route
Can you do another X-Plane video
When bell turns on ditch lights turn on
I play it on my ps4 alot
