    You are my new favorite person to watch. You explain everything so well and your blocks are beautiful. I appreciate the sizes in the description. I'm able to screen shot the sizes with a pic of the block so it's easy to refer to while cutting them out. Thank you so much!!

      @@PoppyPatchwork Thank you Jayne, I just have to say , you make it look so easy but as a beginner I’m learning a lot, my machine was sliding off the seam allowances and then my points didn’t match lol, I put the walking foot on and it fixed that problem, just need to improve my technique in cutting the fabric a bit better lol. I have successfully made some of your blocks and am going to make enough for a good size quilt, thank you 😊

    I have been watching your videos and very much enjoy them. I am just starting to teach myself how to make quilt blocks. I saw a picture of a couple different blocks I like the look of an wondered if you could do a video on them. I do not know what they are called. I find, for me, watching and following along works best for me to figure it out. I tried to put the picture here, so you could see the pictures, but it would not let me do that. One of the blocks looks like a square in a square with the flaps of an envelope folding down over the corners and the other block looks like the four corners of a log cabin block with a star in the center of the block. Thanks for all the fabulous work you do it has been very helpful to this beginner.

    "I am confused on your measurements. You say 4 & 3/4" but your board shows it as 8". Is there a reason for that? It has my end results off using the 4 & 3/4" measurements. This is gorgeous and I am a long time quilter. I would appreciate the help on the measurements.

    • @PoppyPatchwork
      @PoppyPatchwork  Год назад

      Hi, I cut my pieces the wrong size which is why they are 8” in the video. At the beginning of the video when I give out the measurements, the photos state the image is not to scale. Sorry for the confusion, hope this helps. Happy Quilting, Jayne

    I’m trying to understand what you mean by “so you don’t Blunt that point “are you skipping over the seam?

    • @PoppyPatchwork
      @PoppyPatchwork  Год назад +1

      Hi Melody, when I am sewing towards a point, where stitch lines cross over each other, I want the new line of stitching to be just to the right of the intersecting seams so when you press it open you can see the point (of a triangle) and you haven’t sewn through it (blunting the point). I hope that helps, happy quilting, Jayne
