I loved how the siren turned out by using different pieces of bones and hot glue and was surprised how well the head turned out. I expected that to be an embarrassing moment but he's so cute. I love them 😄 I won't be able to film anything now until September but I will make sure to have a Voiceover on it 🥰🥰

This old dried skin looks almost too real and her face is quite menacing 😅 I haven't been awkward to upload as much recently as I went away for almost a month and I go away again for 4 weeks from next week so won't upload any new project videos until September but I am planning on editing the footage of the doggy topiary and planter box whilst I'm travelling so I'm not completely off line again for the month. Just hope I will have decent Internet to upload it as I'm travelling 🙏🥰♥️

She's was originally supposed to be a fiji mermaid after a subscribers shane gave me the idea but she ended up far to large and so I decided to make her more human like in the end and I love how she turned out. @craftsbyxander oh we didn't have room either, we basically turned our entire house in one big cabinet of curiosities. 😝 My favourites are our human skulls, but the weirdest is probably the kòmò helmet mask. It's a wooden creature with giant jaws, animal horns and quills, and it still has residue of the layer of bloody sacrificial material from the last ritual it was used in. It's a scary looking thing, and I love it!
I've been wanting to make one of these faux taxidermy Sirens/Fiji Mermaids for a while now! I'm just waiting for the stores to put out their little mini skeletons for Halloween. I want mine to immediately get a response of "WTF is that?!?" hehe. Definitely using some of your techniques shown here, but also...I'm a bit...extra... XD I found that they sell at the pet store essentially fish skin rawhide for dog/cat chews. Maybe find some faux fur, or ideally some whole squirrel pelts to stand in for the monkey half. Once I find the right base, I'm going to stitch some of that together with big messy ugly stitches and use some cotton and liquid latex for the skin and muscle hehe. It's gonna look gross, unsettling, Frankenstinian, and badass!
This sounds so frickin cool!! Maybe a bit smelly if the fish skin treats are anything like the ones I sometimes get for my dogs but that would fade and it would also add to the realism of the creature 😄 what I would maybe do if I were to make this is build the base of my mermaid first for size reference. Buy a whole fish from the supermarket. Fillet it and remove the skin with the scales attached. Then make a tale shape from foil to the shape and size of the mermaid. Form the skin around the foil and dehydrate the skin in the oven on a very very low heat 😬
@@craftsbyxander They sell plastic monkey skeletons that would work to get the proportions correct for the top half. Sculpting the face is going to be the hardest part. Keeping it just a skull would be easier, but where's the fun in that? I even thought about taking a plastic/vinyl baby doll head and seeing if it would heatshrink over the skull base. Might end up just melting it though. Not sure what kind of plastics they're made from.
She was originally supposed to be a Fiji mermaid but I got carried away and made her WAY too large. I almost gave up on having one in the room but now I have made one which is going to be my next upload. Just in the editing stage now so keep an eye out 😊
