I never knew the reason for this and the repair man who replaced the battery said you’re lucky it didn’t explode on you. I charge my phone overnight every single day right next to my pillow so thank god nothing happened 🙏
Hey where do get all your devices and tool need for repairs? Like the one you used around 3:42 in this video. Also, is they're any other tools you can think of need or will come in handy for cell phone repairs.

I was an Apple Tech Specialist for 3 1/2 years we were supposed to swap swollen battery phone I had one just like this once and swapped for a teenager at the cost of the battery. I later got threatened by management for the number of swollen battery phone swaps I made though are appointment software made it clear we were not supposed to send phone with swollen battery in for repair.
Batteries that Swell and ruin an iPhone is not exactly what I'd call "advanced technology". When will this problem be ENTIRELY eliminated. I've had 4 swollen batteries already in my years of iPhone use; and its just unacceptable by now.
The iPhone 7 and 7 plus have the option to transfer over the serial number but it won’t effect anything, this phone does not support truetone. Also I’m sure you know not to stab the battery and clean the phone out
My battery did this too, my screen is popping out on the right side . It started with my phone shutting off . My phone is a little over a year old. Any chance apple will replace my phone ?

Yep! This iPhone is still very common surprisingly enough. Also the iPhone SE is basically just an iPhone 8.

Any phone over 3 years old is functionally obsolete. Junk it and move on.
