  • The region of Vol’dun serves as a death sentence for those exiled from Zuldazar. But the land's apparent lack of life is merely a mirage, and there’s more to be learned if you scratch beyond the surface.
    As you explore this harsh land, you’ll meet the fox-like vulpera - a keen and intelligent race of nomadic scavengers capable of turning what they find into opportunities to thrive. But not all who live here are free. Once an ally to the Zandalari trolls, the reptilian sethrak have taken to subjugating anyone they can as slaves, and the vulpera are an easy target for their machinations. If you’re to survive in Vol’dun and get to the heart of general Jakra’zet’s plans, you’ll need all the allies you can get. Lending aid to these creatures is bound to pay off.
    To the south looms the Temple of Akunda. Like Nazmir and Zuldazar, this land is served by several of the loa. Many who seek sanctuary travel to this temple to forget the ills of the past and serve the great loa Akunda. There is more to discover here, and with a little extra effort, you’ll be able to get in this loa’s good graces.
    North east of the Temple of Akunda, an outpost of outcasts has taken root near Atul’Aman. Despite frequent sandstorms and short supplies, they’ve begun to herd alpaca here among the harsh terrain. Keeping the herd safe from the likes of hyenas, Vol’duni Dunecrawlers, and saurolisks can be trying at best, and surviving off the land has hardened these people. They don’t trust outsiders, and marauders holing up in the nearby Scorched Sands Arena regularly plague this fragile settlement, stealing what little supplies they have.
    To the north, the Skycallers’ Spire dominates the landscape. A large hooded snake looms above, crackling with lightning. It is here that you’ll find the Temple of Sethraliss and uncover the darkness within.
    There is plenty to explore throughout Vol’dun, and what first seems like a wasteland comes to life with deadly vibrancy once you scratch the harsh exterior. The sand-bleached bones of giant beasts litter the land, long since picked clean and polished to a gleaming smooth by the shifting sands. Brief moments of reprieve from the heat can be found to the north in the small stretch of marsh and in the caverns and oasis tucked away from the unrelenting sun.

      Based on my memory and the locations... It's either the Tortollan theme (most likely), Naga Incursion, parts of the general Zandalar Jungle soundtrack, or Nazmir's own tunes (Nazmir Swamp, Blood Sacrifice, Blood Magic). I don't think there's anything else playing in those parts.

    It's truly great. For me the music sounds even better since most of the time I play it's at night. And let me tell you, they did the dessert justice during night time. It's so different, the sands are silverly instead of golden, bright stars light the sky, the brazier fires cast golden colors on walls and grounds and the serpent statue thunders vividly, lighting the whole area for a split second

    • @Everness1
      @Everness1  3 года назад +10

      Thank you! As iconic as they are, those two zones are _really_ sparse when it comes to music. No dedicated themes prior to Cataclysm, and, I believe, only two versions of one theme for Burning Steppes after the shattering. I'm slowly editing dwarven music mix (with a million other projects simultaneously) and I'll include soundtrack from those two areas in it for sure.

    Interesting use of the Zul'Drak main theme here! It creates a weird contrast between what we've been used to see since around 2007 and here. Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't it the first time this theme is used in another region? Some are overused but this is I think the first time I hear this one somewhere else!
    That being said, thanks a lot for this again ♥ this is incredibly useful for me not to spend the whole day/night on wow haha!

    • @Everness1
      @Everness1  3 года назад +4

      You're welcome! Yes, I took a note of it too. Zul'Drak music plays only in the ruins on the south-western side of the zone, but it's a rather big area with many quests and rares and so on. I had to include it. Vol'dun and Zul'Drak are very similar zones to each other, both share the theme of a fallen troll empire, both barren wastelands with many terrible secrets underneath the sand and the snow. It was a clever use of already existing soundtrack (even though it did feel at least a little bit like it added to the overall "unfinishedness" of the zone).

      I enjoyed it. 🤷‍♂️ I believe, as was the case with all the previous ones, history will be kinder to Battle for Azeroth.

    I can't get my head around why you deleted literally all of your ambience only WoW videos... Will be annoyed for a long time as they were the only ones on RUclips. Genuinely inconsiderate.

      I apologize for the inconvenience, but it was the right thing to do for me. As I stated in the community post, I want to focus on editing better and richer ambient mixes. And I don’t like the idea of this channel becoming just a massive shelf. I’m sure there exist _many_ similar videos here on RUclips, and I have a folder with audio-only files available in the meantime. In time, there will be a smaller tighter selection of ambience videos, with more variety and more care put into the editing process.

      @@Everness1 Hm, alright. That's fair enough. I suppose I missed the post. I just thought your WoW ambience videos were excellent. I've looked around, but sadly you don't get many ambience-only tracks, especially for lesser known zones. Thanks for your service anyway.

      I guess I should have posted in a less hostile manner. It's just that I regular came back to your ambience-only Duskwood, Redridge, Isle of Quel Danas and Azuremyst Isle videos, among others. They became very familiar.

      You can still access the audio through my drive folder. I just want to start over and produce better mixes, that's all. All the clutter had to go. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pj-bXN7IPEAUE8gnLzwTQLAydZ9Z8f7Z?usp=sharing

    Are you serious Everness? What the hell? Why did you delete all of the WoW ambience tracks? I listened to some of those every night... You've got some explaining to do because I'm genuinely annoyed. Why... Why would you delete those?
