Thanks - although I was hoping for a practical demonstration of how it was removed. I'll give it a go with your advice
🎉 Thanks 🙏 so much. My screen broke and I was afraid it was the actual TV, turns out it's just that contrast screen protector that you removed in your video. I'm definitely going take mine off.
Yes, I put mine back on as it probably looks better with it, but if broken, definitely lose it. It's a brightness vs contrast thing, plus the overall look. Glad it was useful and you can still enjoy your crt!
Legend! I fully plan on taking the contrast screen off when the tv arrives tomorrow 🙌🏻 Thankyou
Glad you found it useful!
I have that problem with the NES zapper. I gotta literally be 10 centimeters away from the screen to have the chance to "zap" a duck (duck hunter, you know). I wonder if the lightgun has actually improved
The problem I had here I believe ended up being the gun rather than screen
@@londonretrovideogames1473 to be honest, my NES zapper, its lens has like a little scratch which could be a cause of malfunction but then if I increase the brightness of the TV very high, then it works 10/20 centimeters away from the screen
Awesome share! I would like to build an alternative frame so that TV looks nicer with the contrast screen off. Did anyone attempt this? Any ideas / pointers? Thanks :)
On reflection I put the contrast screen back on, I think it looks better. Didn't think about building an alternate frame
Great informative video! Is there a rubber seal around the screen when you remove it? I have dust behind mine!
Yes, pretty sure there's a seal, dust still can creep in though over 20 years
Excellent video. Picking one up on Thursday! Any advice on how to remove the base and transport it home safely? (I know not to leave it face down as the contrast screen may break
I can't remember if it's a screw or Allan key but there's a screw in the back that releases the base. I mentioned here that it's brighter without the contrast screen but the picture is probably better with it and it obviously looks better
@@londonretrovideogames1473 from what I've read there's an Allen key if it's centered properly (I.e. Not turned to one of the sides as part of it's motor gimmick 😂).
Good to hear you confirm it. Wish me luck for the pickup!
Great little video, thank you! Have you any guides or videos on replacing/refoaming the speakers? I'm struggling to remove the speaker panels below the screen. Does the back need to be off for that too?
Sorry, not done anything with the speakers and I don't have this tv any more
You need to undo the 4 screws mentioned in the video, but you don't need to remove the back completely. Just push upwards from each bottom corner in turn and it will reveal the clips that hold the grille in place. 2 on each side. It's a single piece grille. Buy 4.5 inch foam/rubber replacements, trim the edges a little all the way around and glue them onto the outside edge and run a bead all the way around where the cone meets the new foam/rubber
@brivsmekis8759 superb advice, thank you. I shall give this a go soon
Hello. thanks for this video. I am picking one of these up tomorrow . Do you know how to take the tv off the stand? It has the tall stand and I need to remove for transport purposes.
There's a screw in the back where the stand meets the tv, I think it needs an allan key. Hope you enjoy it!
@@londonretrovideogames1473 Thank you! Do i have to remove a panel to se the allen screw? I can't wait to plug my Snes and C64 in ! I am very excited lol
No I think it's accessible
Any way to decrease or disable digital sharpness on the Beovision 1? It's not on the service menu.
I've since sold this set, is there anything in the normal menu, otherwise not sure
@@londonretrovideogames1473 hey, did you buy any other crt to replave bo1
I got one of these a few years ago with a built in dvd player. when I use the tv the dvd tray constantly opens and closes. Did you see anything I could disconnect when you had the back off?
I didn't look, the DVD opens by touching the metal bar to the Lowe right of the screen on the plastic panel, maybe that needs a clean?
@@londonretrovideogames1473 I've tried all sorts. I've put electrical tape over it today to try to stop it. Seems to open whenever a white screen/ bright image is on screen.
@@mwint6403 weird, maybe try getting the back off and see if you can disconnect it. Just don't touch the crt bits
@@mwint6403I have a similar issue with the beocenter 1 dvd, do you have solve the problem?? How?? Thanks!
@@anxoruso_9358 No joy in fixing it yet. It seems fine with a PAL 50hz Snes running on it but when I hook up the PS2 and dreamcast playing 60hz the disc tray opens and closes all the time?
Hi
