  • To our faithful watchers!
Well, this is the last video of 2023. We used all used/recycled materials to complete this chicken coop build. As you can see, we love our Ryobi battery tools. We are able to charge everything was we run the generator at night, so we are ready for each day. We are now starting 2024 work at the cabin, so all future videos will be from this spring forward .
I am excited to bring you along for our adventure as grandparents raising grandchildren, trying to find more sustainable and healthy ways to live. In the coming weeks, we are starting seeds, establishing the garden, and creating outdoor workspaces at the property. I'm also hoping for that point well and some solar power this year! Plus, look for improved video shots and editing. I'm learning, even in my "old age". Whew! It's a lot!
Looking forward to sharing our life with you this spring. I hope you enjoy watching this video as much as I enjoyed making it.

Good job. I like how you attached the fencing to the top. I sort of did that with bird netting. I'm going to change my entire yard and coop soon. Getting other ideas. Oh, I could see the hesitation in the girls coming out of that opening that was really close to the wall. Hope they're used to that by now. I set up those "easy-up" type canopies and put bird netting over the tops. Was that a nesting box below the opening?

Thanks so much for your comment!
We had to attach the fencing across the top because the “fence” really isn’t much of a deterrent to predators.
That really wasn’t the actual entrance for the girls, but we didn’t have the coop opening cut. I’ll do an update once we get them back up for the summer.
