WHY WILL NO!! model manufacturers make a 1/32 scale F111 ???. We have everything from cold war, and even F117, F35. Come one please !

Fancy that, a bit of good news. I lost interest in Revell, so, this actually is a spot of good news for a plastic sentimentalist.
Man! What butt ugly planes! Glad your all excited for this news. I'm gonna pass, have prettier aircraft to build. Looks like the Spit and the Mosquito are still the only pretty British aircraft.
The US contemporary of the Meteor, the P-59, wasn't much of a looker either...
That's encouraging news, Gary. If it's anything like their Hunter F6/FG9s and Hawk T.1As of a few years back, it's going to be nice, imo.

Not to be negative nellie, but that prone Meteor is a complete abomination before the Lord. 🤐 🤪
It was an ugly brute but many research aircraft were. But my Dad flew in it once as human ballast so I have an affection for it!
I thought that I knew most of the post WW2 experimental types and variants, but the VSTOL lift jet in the back of the Meteor was a new one. on me.
Ernest Shacklady (IIRC) was the author of an interesting book on the Gloster Meteor series. It was published by Doubleday and I had the volume on the Hawker Hurricane series and the volume on the F-86 Sabre family and all derivatives.
Revell kits are terrible will never buy anything from them...
What was the last one you built and what was wrong with it? Last three I built were the old F9F Panther, the Arado E.555 and the 2020 F-15E, all of which were very enjoyable and made very decent results.

I think Luke has a quite open remit as product manager, and I think he wants to break the one new tool per year cycle.

I think Martin-Baker are still flying their Meteor. Wouldn’t hurt to give them a call.
Hopefully an F.4 will be released after the F.8. I want the HK Models kit, but it'd be interesting to see a Revell tooling.
So they are giing to make a 1/48 scale B-47 or C-119??? AWESOME!!! Millions will line up to buy one....me included!!!

I think they way they are breaking the kit down means they could re-engineer the nose for later versions. I think they all had the longer F.8 style tail, and having scanned the wide and narrow engine inlets gives them more leeway.

The Prone Meteor was designed when Gloster had their first Bring your child to work day. I think it was a 3rd grader that sketched that out.
Revell would do well to re-tool their Century Series in 1/48th scale.
Lets hope they gonna make good kits.
Great choice by Revell and with an eye to their European market, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands all operated F.8s, while in the Middle East, Egypt, Israel and Syria had them; in South America, Brazil had F8s and Ecuador FR.9s. Lots of variety and appeal!
Revell has been a dying brand for a long time so Luke certainly has his work cut out for him.

Gary, since you're over that side anyhow, maybe poke your head in the Eduard offices and suggest a "prone" adapter for the Revell kit? Ya never know 🤔☕🐢
Oh it would be good! Special Hobby did one for their own 1/72 Meteor, and I think there is an aftermarket for there 1/48 as well. A 1/32 Prone would make me very, very happy indeed. Another tribute build to my Dad!

Gloster Meteor was such a bad airplane that pilots received instructions to run away upon sight of any German jet, they had encounters over Northern Italy, when Wehrmacht was eliminating the residua of Mussolini 'black shirts', after a british commando murdered Mussolini and his lover.
Not sure what to make of the above comment. 616Sqn only operational outside of the UK was to the Netherlands and Germany in the last few weeks of the war. Never went near Italy. The Wehrmacht in Italy had a lot on its plate in March-April 1945, largely in trying to retreat.
@@MCT954 Sorry, I don't remember reference. For sure there were some Meteor Flying over Netherlands, the quotation of flights over Northern Italy is not my invention, but can be a fake memory. You know S Freud wrote about this in 'Psychopatology of everyday life'.
@@MCT954 The flaw in Gloster Meteor, besides its Straight Wings and thick as a brick Aerodynamics, was the Centrifugal Compressor turbines, Junkers had axial flow turbines, better and with less diameter.
This is good news for Revell and they need to get a boost..A 1/32 meteor would be a great issue for Revell,if they put their all into it..A new range would be wonderful for Revell and they do good helicopters in 1/48 and 1/32 and I can see Revell making the new Wildcat helicopter,if Airfix don’t beat them to it in 1/48..But Revell could release a 1/32 wildcat to go with their good Lynx in 1/32..Of course I’m speculating and wishing a bit as well..But Revell does like 1/32 scale helicopters.!

Revell seem to hit for six with there aircraft models as in the Spitfire MKII 'Iron maiden' model which I personally spoke to Steve Harris about, and looking at it alongside A/F's Motorhead He 111. As we used to say in the RAF realy kicks A/F in the slats. Although Airfix's GR9 is a lovely model.
Another 1/32 Cold War jet, I'll have to clear room but I'll be waiting for release.

I have a 1/72 prone pilot meteor in my wall of shame. A 1/32 companion would be awesome (maybe a hint for the aftermarket suppliers there 😁)
Hi Gary, maybe you could suggest to Roy that Revell should do a conversion kit for the Meteor along the lines of what Airfix did with the Valiant PR version. So a new canopy, forward fuselage and decals as a separate kit.

77 Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) flew the Meteor Mk 8 in Korea. At least two F8s shot down MiG 15s.
