    I just made this last year for Christmas and my family loved it especially my niece and nephew. I will be making this again tonight.

      I'm still surprised that this video still gets comments and likes. I have debated if I should delete it but I don't think I ever will because I know people still watches it and likes it. I just don't like how noisy the video was and the quality, but then again, it was from my early years on youtube... I'm so glad your family loved it. You just made my day with this comment. Many blessings and may you have a good day...😘

      Rone Smith Thank you so much. I plan to work on measurements this year. Hopefully. I eyeball everything. Just add a little bit of everything in this video at a time, taste and if you feel it needs more-just add more ingredients. But this rice is soooooooo delicious. It's something I make everytime it's a get-together, party, etc. Please make this for your hunny. :-) Have a good Sunday...

    i never thought to add gandules in so late, but i am making your recipe tonight! thanks for sharing. Love this video, you do a great job!!! I like that you keep the Latin flavor going, like with the aluminum foil...those little touches make you unique. Also, this video length is perfect!!! the longer videos are cool and fun, but for a quick recipe, this was a good time!

      I plan to re do this video again. This was when I just started doing YT videos and I did not know that when recording, u can capture all the music, noise, etc. I did write it down in descriptions and on the video (a warning. lol) but some people still comments on this video and complain about the music and loudness. I, for one, loves cooking with music loud. But considering that I make TY videos now, I do have to keep it quiet. I do plan to do this video with a quiet back ground and link it below this video. ;-)

      @ProvidenciaSilva  10 лет назад

      RicharddtheStar Thank you very much. I had wrote that because I had a viewer say the music was annoying. It was the way she said it. I had to explain to her that at that time I was fairly new to making videos and I didn't know people get disturbed hearing music in the back ground. I don't. Everyone is different tho. If people suggest something nicely, I won't get offended. But, I'm glad you wasn't bothered. :-) Take care and have a good night.

    Buen Dia Providencia, Could you give the actual measures of each ingredient for this recipe? When you listed the ingredients there were no ounces, tablespoons or cups listed of each ingredient. I like that you cover your rice before placing a lid on the caldero, I use this method as well but I use banana leaves instead. It gives the rice a great aroma and flavor in addition to all of the other great ingredients added to the rice. Thank you in advance...adios..a fellow cook from Queens NY.

    • @ProvidenciaSilva
      @ProvidenciaSilva  9 лет назад +2

      1bongocero Yes. I have done it with the banana leaves and it does makes it more flavorful. I do it mostly around the holiday. As far as measurements-I am so sorry but I usually eye ball everything since I've been cooking for years. But I do plan to re do this video again (considering that it's one of my first videos on youtube and it's kinda loud. lol) I am gonna try to measure everything for the next video. Promise. This is one of my best videos on youtube with lots of views and everyone asks for measurements. Definitely gonna measure next time. :-)

    • @1bongocero
      @1bongocero 9 лет назад +1

      Providencia Silva Measure by sight my mother used to cook that way, old school style and what's amazing is that she could crank out a caldero full of rice or a small sauce pan size and the rice tasted the same nicely seasoned, tender and loose. That's a sign of an experienced cook by which I see you have reached those levels of expertise. Keep up the great work "Provi"! That's what we used to call our aunt who lives in New Jersey and shares your unique first name. Thank you as well for the swift reply, Bendiciones siempre.

      Claudia Custodio Hi. Hope you're feeling great today. I use Canilla rice (long grain)... You can (however) use ANY long grain rice. Never tried it with any other rice (except) long grain. I don't wanna tell you to pick out another kind of rice and be wrong. So, yeah. Use long grain. Take care and God bless...

      You don't sound like a dummy. I'd rather look silly seeking an answer then not knowing at all... :-) It's okay to ask anything. But to answer your question, that is a caldero pot. I'm providing you with a link with different caldero pots for you can see it yourself. I hope I was helpful. Again, sorry the video is loud. It was one of my 1st videos on RUclips. :-)

      Marysabelle Lynn Hey, thx for commenting. :-) I've made this rice for soooo many events, parties and have even cooked it for neighbors for their events as a favor to them and never got a bad review... So, I know you will enjoy this. Sorry the music drives you crazy and is disturbing (lol). This is one of my first videos on RUclips. I started a few months ago and when I would edit my videos, I would notice maybe it's a better idea to cook with no music playing. I'm a music lover. Music keeps me going when I cook, clean, etc... But future videos will not have music playing. :-) Hope you have a good night. :-)
