Hoof Trimming Our Bulls and Why it is Necessary

Our bulls got their yearly pedicure yesterday! Pampered pasture raised bulls like these don't wear their hoofs down naturally like a cow out on the range would. We trim their hoofs yearly to ensure our bulls are not only healthy, but comfortable.

Yeah they really don't mind it! These are specifically designed in a way to make cows feel secure and relaxed. On top of that, the grinding feels similar to having your nails cut or filed.

I just love Polled Herefords. Had one when I was 5 raised it from his birth. He saved me from snake bites, he stepped in between me and the snake two separate times. I slept on his back when he would graze in the pasture. Currie combed him a lot. He protected me like a huge dog. Bullger

This is a little different most guys use the crush where they stand up but whatever works

We have tried both and the bulls don't seem to prefer one or the other. This does give quick easy access to the hoof trimmer though.
