He has many moments, but his comeback win against Davey Moore to become Junior middleweight champion of the world was a transcendent moment in his career. His lightweight run as undisputed champion, his victory against Leonard at 147 and his defeat of Barkley at 160 are also magnificent.

I got into an argument with a young boxing newbie who dared say that Canelo is greater than Roberto Duran. How do you argue with an ignorant person? Roberto Duran is easily in the top five greatest boxers of all time. Let's see how the drug cheat Alvarez stacks up in these next few years. He needs bigger wins than the washed up or never have been champions he has on his resume.
    Long live Roberto Duran!

He had a speech problem which has now disappeared. He explained years ago that it was because of the car accident he had in Argentina. I thought it was because of all the punches he had received in boxing. Lo and behold, that problem is totally gone now - he was right after all.

AJ came in to the weigh-in in his best Shredded shape ever from putting in a lot of Work at sparring.
AJ sparred 13 South paws for 6 months while Usyk sparred only 5 orthodox fighters for three months.
AJ weighed 108.86Kg in the last fight while Usyk weighed 98.23Kgs
Now in the current weigh in AJ weighs 110.9Kgs while Usyk weighs 100.5Kgs.
In appearance, AJ looked like he lost 5Kg fat from the last fight and gained 7.9Kg of useful muscles from training while Usyk looks like he lost 2kg muscles only to add 4.5kg of fat to his body for the fight.
If anything AJ is in a fantastic position to win the fight now more than ever.
Usyk cannot knock out AJ but AJ can Knock out Usyk (i doubt the sparring tales just like i doubted his size).
Hopefully when AJ wins there will be no War effect excuses.

Duran was a great fighter, no doubt. I watched his fights as a lightweight many times. He is so arrogant and thinks he is "the greatest." He always has an excused for losing. When he lost to Hearns Duran claimed he was hungover. I think he was a brawler and big puncher, but he lacks good boxing skills. This is why fighters like Leonard, Hagler and Benitez beat him. All three of these boxers were great technicians. If Leonard would have brawled with Duran the second time, Leonard would have lost that fight too. No, Mr. Duran you were never a good boxer. You were a brawler and puncher. Actually, boxing skills was his weakness.
