Flattop Mountain is my favorite day hike from Anchorage. I can relate to you trying to catch your breath on the way up the mountain. Although coming down is easier, I think it is as, if not more, dangerous because of being more tired, coupled with the desire to finish the hike. You could end up coming down too fast with the help of gravity and lose your footing on the loose shale and rocks.
What an epic hike to cap off this amazing Alaskan adventure 9L! Plethora of views of the sea, towns, ridges, lakes...the memories you made were beautiful. 😊 Thank you for filming. As always, you bring us top-notch vlogs. Take care ✌️
Great beautiful video, with lots of great beautiful views, of the mountains covered in snow, and beautiful views of the ocean, so let's keep on hiking 😊
Good video. I thought you would like to know When you said Rabbit Lake was over there, you were on the wrong side of the mountain. That was the Powerline Pass you pointed at.
It’s been really incredible watching you enjoy Alaska. I hope you can go back in the winter to see it’s beauty then. I was there in the winter. I hiked the Matanuska glacier and went snowmobiling. Can’t wait to see what your next adventure is going to be💗💗
Great trip/video, having never been to the Alaskan coast I really enjoyed your visit. May I suggest the Fairbanks area for your next visit. Lots of canoeing/kayaking and fishing available on interior lakes and rivers. Thanks for taking us along.
Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The top of Flat Top was sureal! When y ou were up there I thought the mountain range looked like waves (the way they were formed)! It was so cool looking! I laughed when you went up the hard side because it reminded me of your ascent of Katahdin!
Great videos of your trip. I was wondering how the dog got to the top of Flat Top but then you explained about the “sunny side” so guessing they went up that side??? Next adventure…..when and where?
Great reports. Your additional food clips made me hungry too :- ) And, I always appreciate the American Flag that Laddie Shaw, former Navy Seal and now State Rep., placed at the top. Somehow I find that to be a great way to remind us how beautiful our country is.
A great example of a hike I'd enjoy. Thanks for showing me. I went to Alaska for the first time last year, but only passed through when near Anchorage. I'll keep this hike in mind for the future. I get scared for you when you're climbing with a selfie stick. How much extra distance do you put in going back to get the camera when taking videos?
Love your trail description. "nicely paved dirt path ". 😊
When you went to the sunny side, that is the side you hiked when you went to Rabbit Lake. :)
Awesome Alaska series!!!😊👍👏🏻
LOVE you running back for the cam... A lot of people don't understand the cinematography work that goes into your vids and others... Thanks!!

Well done 👏 to you
I grew up blazing the old trail in the early 70s. There were no trails or parking lots.
Gosh DANG it why do I keep watching your videos when I'm already hungry 🤣🤣🤣 THAT FISH LOOKS AMAZING!! I mean, the hike looked awesome too...
It's challenging - the local hs track team, however, RUNS up the mountain.
Great video. I really enjoyed watching😊

Next time you come up you need to do kesugi ridge, resurrection pass and upper winner Creek!
I have those hikes saved on my alltrails! So many trails and so little time! Already can’t wait to come back

The good Lord only knows how many bonus miles I’ve done to get footage 🤣
Thanks!

Careful in Alaska lots of bears
Wow, what a great hike to finish off your trip! Amazing views! You probably said and I missed it, what is the elevation at the top there?
3,500!
@kellyhays23 Wow, it looks so much higher! But I guess when you go straight up from sea level, it looks really big!
i need to get my ass to Alaska...its just been a deep desire of mine for some time now. It's so majestic. Aug or Sep? Whadda ya say'?
Not sure how it is out there during those months! I was there late June early julyb
@@kellyhays23 thx Kelly! Were you able to do all the trails you wanted? Or were many still with tons of snow?
All the trails I looked at snow was not an issue! Most of it was melted!
@@kellyhays23 Kik azz! Thx for your responses! Have an awesum day. : O)
What sun cream have you been applying? 💝
I’m using a Neutrogena face sunscreen right now 70 spf
I saw a black bear up there when I went
Hi Kelly, I dont blame you I did not want to leave either , still trying to get back.
It’s not the ocean it Cook Inlet
I know you hated to leave. I know I did.
Curious why footsteps are so noisy.
One of the most overrated and overcrowded hikes in Alaska.
