Flattop Mountain is my favorite day hike from Anchorage. I can relate to you trying to catch your breath on the way up the mountain. Although coming down is easier, I think it is as, if not more, dangerous because of being more tired, coupled with the desire to finish the hike. You could end up coming down too fast with the help of gravity and lose your footing on the loose shale and rocks.

Good video. I thought you would like to know When you said Rabbit Lake was over there, you were on the wrong side of the mountain. That was the Powerline Pass you pointed at.

And, I always appreciate the American Flag that Laddie Shaw, former Navy Seal and now State Rep., placed at the top. Somehow I find that to be a great way to remind us how beautiful our country is.

A great example of a hike I'd enjoy. Thanks for showing me. I went to Alaska for the first time last year, but only passed through when near Anchorage. I'll keep this hike in mind for the future. I get scared for you when you're climbing with a selfie stick. How much extra distance do you put in going back to get the camera when taking videos?
